Keith Lee is what would happen if you put ABT in a wrestling ring.

Actually, this is what happened:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ujm1BZrIB40" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Then I managed the babyface side of a five on five tag in the main event, but that video is very long.

Anybody Thrilla 10-11-2018 04:21 AM

Man, the WCW crusierweights used to beat the fuck out of each other.

Is it bad that the first thought that popped into my head was you going all heel Sergeant Slaughter and burning that flag before pronouncing your defection to Iraq.

In another case of WWE being terrible with long term thinking, the decision to abruptly turn Bobby Lashley heel was made right before this week's episode of RAW. Same for Rush suddenly becoming a lot more annoying on the mic since that was Vince feeding him lines.

The Observer's Meltzer stated WWE was aware of Owens' serious health issues for a while but still waited till the day of the show to make an official decision. Got to the point where Owens legit couldn't hold off doing surgery any longer because of how bad his knee became.

Recent rumor going around the net hints that the future of WWE's deal with the Saudi government could be in serious doubt due to the recent embassy killing controversy.

Supposedly those within the US government are pushing the idea for sanctions due to the Saudi government violating international laws regarding embassies when they reportedly killed and dismembered a dissident in their embassy in Turkey.

ClockShot 10-11-2018 08:52 PM

Do the show, then get the fuck out. If they're locked in a long term commitment, find a way to get the fuck out.

When I read about that journalist, I immediately thought this was gonna bite WWE in the ass.

Fignuts 10-11-2018 09:07 PM

Shocking. How could WWE have ever seen this coming?

Sometimes you just have bad luck Figgy, and there's just no signs that these things could have possibly ever happened.

Even Fox News has talked about the bad issues with WWE's deal with the Saudis which really shows how bad of an image hit they are taking from it.

Surely signing a 10-year deal with one of the most oppressive regimes in the world can't be a bad thing, right? I mean, look at how much money its despots have.

Mr. Nerfect 10-12-2018 02:45 AM

They'll probably do a propaganda video about how great it is being a journalist in Saudi Arabia.

Does HBK come back to wrestle if there's no huge pile of Saudi prince money for him? If not I'm hoping they have to cancel the show

Mr. Nerfect 10-12-2018 04:47 AM

No, they will do the match somewhere else so as not to con fans. And HBK wants to come back. I don't think he's just doing it for Saudi money. Money would have never been an issue.

Mr. Nerfect 10-12-2018 04:49 AM

If this affects their deal with FOX, heads are going to roll. In Stamford, I mean.

Mr. Nerfect 10-12-2018 04:50 AM

Oh god, I am getting way too optimistic about the possibility of WWE facing genuine backlash for being shitty pieces of shit. They're going to get off without a scratch.

Are you sure about that? That lad sold his soul to JBL, don't you ever forget that!

Mr. Nerfect 10-12-2018 05:34 AM

I imagine he gets paid well to do what he does at the Performance Center, and I'm sure major money has always been on the table for a return.

As long as it is just your imagination and not a fact. I imagine a lot of things too, Noid. Like AJ Styles breaking CM Punk's record as the longest reigning WWE Champion in "modern history". Although technically he's had the strap for longer.

Mr. Nerfect 10-12-2018 06:08 AM

I think it's a fairly safe assumption. You don't think the company would look after Shawn Michaels as an employee? And you don't think Vince would kill to get his big comeback regardless of whether or not the Saudis want it? Come on.

GD 10-12-2018 06:12 AM

I'd like to play the skeptic, Noid.

Mr. Nerfect 10-12-2018 06:34 AM

If you want to play the skeptic, use Occam's razor.

When I first heard about that on the news last week, one of the first things I thought about was the WWE's deal with the Saudis.

I can only see bad things coming from Crown Jewel now when it comes to the WWE and the media. Especially if it's revealed before the event that the Saudis did indeed kill Jamal Khashoggi. I can imagine the WWE being put under a lot of pressure to cancel the event.

Part of me can't see Vince doing that though. If he doesn't cancel it even though it's been revealed that Khashoggi was killed by the Saudis, then I have no idea what to expect.

I think it would take a lot of investors to sway Vince's decision to cancel the event.

Cool King 10-12-2018 06:50 AM

Knowing Vince though, if the investors did manage to make him change his mind, he still wouldn't cancel the event, he would probably just "postpone" it.

We would then get the Crown Jewel event after all this Khashoggi stuff had died down. (excuse the pun)

Mr. Nerfect 10-12-2018 07:19 AM

Some have taken the "We are watching this situation" statement to be a way of doing nothing and continue doing the event, but I think it's their way of sounding as doe-eyed as possible so if it does come out the Saudis are responsible, they can pull out and try and retain whatever of their image they can.

I mean, everyone knows these things about Saudi Arabia. No one can legitimately be surprised. And WWE didn't get flak for the deal in the first place, so I imagine it doesn't piss anyone off too much. It is fun seeing WWE's name pop up in the news because of it though, haha.

Honestly, if Vince is ever going to get ousted (and I'm not sure anyone has the power to do that, even with a unanimous vote or whatever), it'd only be if something seriously jeopardized the stock price. Something like this has a better chance of doing it than a shit creative direction. But that's only if it REALLY snowballs, and I don't see it getting much bigger than it is. But if it did, this could potentially be Vince McMahon's most public embarrassment -- more so than even the steroid scandal or the XFL. Slim chance though. But the media isn't always fair and consistent, so if they just decide WWE are evil for having ever accepted money from the Saudis to put on a propaganda show, then that could be a field day. Next could be the hypocrisy of the women's revolution. Pay grade with wrestlers. Independent contractors, concussions, etc. If WWE comes under fire for one thing, they might come under fire for many.
