I haven't read the comics since I think around issue #110 or something. Carl's girlfriend went off with the whisperers. Can't really remember having a fave character though as, other than Ric and Carl, most of them change quite frequently.

Dunno why they made a spin-off with the premise of "seeing how the breakout begins and seeing the collapse of society"........ but then rushing through all that to just have another Walking Dead show but with less/no interesting characters.

I just watched season 7 over the last two days and it was the worst pile of shit I think I have ever seen. It's easily the fastest a good show has turned completely to shit before.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is playing a character that has been built up for an entire season and now we finally see him in action and it's just one declaratory sentence after another with some really fucking lazy sass thrown in. That doesn't pass for charisma in my book and the gay ass way he throws those "Ho-lee shit" declarations around every time he meets someone new or gets annoyed is one of the worst choices in bad acting I have ever seen.
if they were going to go that way with the character then they needed someone amazing who could go big with it because JDM is below terrible.

This isn't just something failing to live up to what was promised…this is something going out of its way to not be the thing it built itself up to be.
It's as if the entire show was taken over by the production team of Relic Hunter or Xena Warrior Princess. Ridiculous characters would be fine in moderation but the homeless folk that talked nonsense and the king with the bloody tiger were shit! This is just the sort of thing you would see on a crappy sic fi channel show back in the very early 2000's... it doesn't look or feel the same at all now.

I don't know what the point was. You've built Carol, Daryl, Morgan and Rick up to be amazing go-to characters only to now turn them into pieces of furniture the camera cuts to whenever boring, can't act, fuckface Negan isn't on screen.

I kept watching just hoping it would somehow spring back into its original shape but it's completely distorted now. Unless all of those homeless weirdo's and the king bloke die and they stop using horrendous CGI and whatever awful daytime TV production team they have acquired then they have more or less given up because this is sitting at an incredibly low level right now.

Really can't answer since JDM is stellar so clearly we arent going to agree...but this season has been uber meh (and JDM has been in very little.)

This is the truth of the matter. If you like JDM in Walking Dead then you enjoy a much lower standard of acting performance than I do and that WD has provided so far.

Not only this but the ridiculous gimmick characters could have been done better or not at all. Everyone looks like they're wearing coke can armour and are stuck in a really shitty episode of Stargate or Xena.

I cannot be the only one to have noticed this. The acting is just gone now, completely gone.
From the huge heights of Carol in season 6 to just dross….complete and utter mindless pap.

Maybe lots of people just don't know how to articulate their disappointment but this is as basic as it gets for me. the acting and the interest are just destroyed now.

That part should have gone to someone with maybe an ounce or two of charisma...just to make the character you know...make sense. I enjoy JDM, but will admit his act is wearing thin. He certainly has been the most "devastating" of the Walking Dead villains, but Negan hasn't really been a developed and compelling character beyond "he bashes people's heads in". I'm hoping we get some Negan-centric episode that delves into his character and his backstory. Kind of like how we had with The Governor (now there was a well developed villain).

By the way, there's a webcomic about Negan's past.

This season has been very boring as well. Like 90% no characters talking, and just people standing around shooting each other with guns.

Thing is, they can't find the perfect balance between talking and shooting. It's either this or that.

Season 6 was more or less perfect. Every season before that built up perfectly to that point with ever worsening villains and a constant threat of being surrounded. Now we've got badass Carol sitting doing fuck all saying fuck all and basically just going from the top character in the whole thing to the most underused and biggest waste in screen history.

Not even close to the most devastating villain. The Governor holds that title because the Governor was a full character with charisma, a murky past and a hell of a dark side and he provided a legitimate threat to the camp.
Negan is just pointless.
It's not even bleakness or lack of hope or anything…he's just a really shitty villain that should have been played a hell of a lot better by a far better actor.

Negan is not how you design or portray villains. Negan would have been far better served being played by Henry Rollins seeing as he's a charismatic badass that can actually act and the entire character is based on him anyway.

Maybe Walking Dead just doesn't want to go on any more. I could understand that. it has become laughably bad.

The way JDM plays Negan is as a guy who's thinks he's badass and cool but who comes off as weird and sad and annoying.

It's a fucking terrible portrayal. It honestly may be the worst I have ever seen a show offer up in terms of villainy.

This is not what we were promised when Alicia Witt was freaking me out in that dingy warehouse place.
I'd probably be a lot happier if Alicia Witt had actually played Negan.

"Devastating" in the sense of the "impact" and "success" that he has had, in that he killed two major characters, and had essentially "won" for a time before Rick decided to fight back.

Anyone actually watch Fear The Walking Dead this season? I watched a few episodes, but then I have 9 episodes sitting on my DVR still unwatched...... thinking I should just delete them, because the prospect of actually watching them is "meh".....

Fuck Fear The Walking Dead. I had such high hopes for this but of course they let me down.

Announced that it will show us a different take on the apocalypse, show us how it looks in the city. And they had like 5 scenes in the streets of LA, locked themselves up in a pawn shop or whatever for the rest of the season. Spent a season on a fucking boat and now they're on a Mexican desert. I get budget, but why the promises? Fuck you. Cancel this shit.

And the hero of the show is a heroin addict who was never introduced to the concept of combs and showers.

Well as long as they're actively fucking up the entire franchise then that's fine I'll just stop watching now.
