Also, if Lesnar didn't leave I don't think they'd have jumped the gun on Orton and turned him face and put the title on him so soon.
I think they wanted to make him the new youngest champion, and were desperate for a new star.
If Lesnar stuck around Orton probably would have developed better.

Same with Cena.

And I don't think they would have desperately created JBL.

The new generation main event scene would have looked really good.

Yeah, they won, but Andrew Bynum injured his knee AGAIN. Against the same team and the same building as last year :nono:

hhh and Lesar never fueded. They were never on the same brand, but everyone knew it was bound to happen eventually. They were dominating their seperate shows.
I am pretty much certain it would have been built as the Wrestlemania 21 main event, and Lesnar would have been moved to Raw. It would have made a ton of sense and was bound to happen since he was a) established as the top star and Raw was the top show and b) he hadn't fueded with anyone on Raw.
He would have had some great programs with HHH, HBM, Ortonetc.

Over on Smackdown, after he left, they probably would have given the fastly emerging Cena the ball, and let him fued with Angle, Eddie, Taker.

Bummer

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:04 AM

Fuck the Lakers. Celts.

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:06 AM

Ugh...I'm a big Sox fan but I fucking hate the Celtics

Smart man.

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:09 AM

I'm also the only Lakers fan in Philly

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:14 AM

Still watching, Tron?

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:14 AM

How are you a Sox fan and a Laker fan? Do you just pick the best teams to root for haha?

I'm from Boston. But it works out for me naturally, because my favorite teams since birth ARE the best teams to root for now.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:14 AM

Nah I'm done.

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:15 AM

My dad and his family are all Sox fans so I took it from them. My uncle works for Fox Sports in LA so he used to send me all this Laker shit when I was a kid. I know it's weird.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:17 AM

Also, Cena's from Boston and he always wins. I don't root for him though.

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:17 AM

It really is title town...

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:17 AM

The Departed cleaned up at the Oscars.

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:18 AM

I live like 5 minutes from Matt Ryan's parents if that helps my Boston cred...

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:19 AM

You get cred in my book. I won't hold it against you that you're a Lakers fan. Any Sox fan is a friend of mine.

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:20 AM

Nice

Juan 02-01-2009 12:20 AM

Boston sucks my balls.

Next match please :D

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:22 AM

I believe it's up to the two of you.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:22 AM

That is funny though, how you inherited semi-rival fanbases. That happens though. There's some areas up here where there's crossover fanbases.
There are towns in Connecticut that are literally halfway between NYC and Boston, where there is split fanhood. Half Yanks fans, half Sox fans.

There are also a good amount of Giants fans around here. This is because, before the Patriots became part of the NFL in the 1960s, people rooted for the Giants because they were the nearest televised team.
It's mostly old people.

Adam Sandler is from Manchester NH, and I know he's a Bruins fan, and a Jets fan. Strange, but it happens.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:23 AM

Juan your pick.

I know what you mean. I grew up in the Bay Area, where you're either a Giants fan or an A's fan, a 49ers fan or a Raiders fan.

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:25 AM

Oddly enough, I'm a NY Giants fan too

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:25 AM

That's a great example too.

Lets get back to the matches tho

Agreed, hopefully this is a quickie. I gotta get up ass early for work tomorrow

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:26 AM

1) Love the Fink
2) One of my fav WM matchers from this era

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:28 AM

I love this match. At the time this was the future of the company in one match, and the company and fans all knew it

They never inherited the company the way they should have

Juan 02-01-2009 12:28 AM

ok just started it

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:29 AM

This is my fav kind of Jericho too.

Juan 02-01-2009 12:30 AM

WRESTLEMANIA IS JERICHO

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:31 AM

Sigh, I miss when Lawler used to call matches as a semi-heel. WWE, it's not the end of the world if one of your announcers roots for the bad guy

Juan 02-01-2009 12:31 AM

lol Kirk Angel

Juan 02-01-2009 12:32 AM

Guys with 2 or more belts always look legit

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:33 AM

Back when this first happened, I had the DVD of this Mania, and one of the features was a commentary track for this match by Jericho, complete with him shitting on Kevin Kelly at the beginning. The whole thing was hilarious

Juan 02-01-2009 12:34 AM

lol i bet

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:35 AM

At this time period I truly believed Jericho was the next giant star, and I still believe he could have been if they allowed it.

He was getting biggest pop of the night at some events during this time, it was reported by people who attended events.
Plus lets not forget how over his "never happend" title win was.

Juan 02-01-2009 12:36 AM

Watching this makes me want to play WrestleMania 2000 on the 64.

That was so awesome.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:37 AM

Blame the invasion

Juan 02-01-2009 12:38 AM

lol ASK HIM!

Juan 02-01-2009 12:41 AM

Wow, I just realized that Kurt had been in the company for about 5 months and already had 2 titles.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:42 AM

the real walls

Jericho and Benoit too, they rose up the card damn fast. Jericho won the IC title within a couple months, and obviously Benoit too.

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:43 AM

lol, uploaded by superbatista619

Juan 02-01-2009 12:44 AM

double powerbomb, nice

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:44 AM

I wonder how Kurt and Benoit would fit in WWE today

Juan 02-01-2009 12:45 AM

VINTAGE TIM WHITE

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:45 AM

Somehow I see Benoit doing Finlay's job on ECW without the whole family-friendly attitude

Juan 02-01-2009 12:46 AM

lionsault ftw

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:47 AM

That second powerbomb was pure adrenaline. crazy

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:49 AM

My fav Walls of Jericho was against Rey in WCW when he reversed a top rope hurricanrana into the Walls of Jericho

Triple Naitch 02-01-2009 12:54 AM

Ah, good times. Well I think I'm done for the night. 'Night fellers.

Juan 02-01-2009 12:54 AM

Later Naitch.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 12:56 AM

Did you say Ladder Maitch?

Juan 02-01-2009 12:57 AM

I think I may have. What do you have mind???

NOW!

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:01 AM

gotta keep the Jericho theme of the evening goin

Juan 02-01-2009 01:02 AM

This is another match I hadn't seen since it aired :y:

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:02 AM

I love a good Ladder match. I love a good Christian match even more. But I love a good Jericho match most of all.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:03 AM

CC

Juan 02-01-2009 01:03 AM

Was this before or after Trish turned on Jericho?

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:04 AM

wtf is that ref doing in the ring

Juan 02-01-2009 01:05 AM

lol just noticed that

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:05 AM

This was after. That whole Trish thing happened at Wrestlemania of that year. This was a lengthy fued.

Juan 02-01-2009 01:05 AM

lol CLB

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:06 AM

I have an epic picked lined up.

Yea that was an awesome storyline. heel Trish was extra hot, and it was awesome to see Jericho and Christian fued.
A Jericho face turn had been long coming at that point too.

It was hilarious how it all started because Jericho made a bet for one canadian dollar that he could nail Trish before Christian nailed Lita.

Juan 02-01-2009 01:09 AM

We're about 7 mins into the the first of those 3 vids. Probably like 20 mins.

Splaya, just hop in on it. We're about to start the second video if you wanna jump in halfway.

Juan 02-01-2009 01:12 AM

lol JR and his BBQ sauce references.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:15 AM

Y2J! Y2J!

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:15 AM

I really do love Ladder Matches so much

Juan 02-01-2009 01:16 AM

I agree with Jericho when he says he is the new king of ladder matches. He's had so many good ones.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:16 AM

page out of Mick Foley's book there

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:18 AM

He's one of them. I don't think there's an undisputed king of it. Edge, Christian, Jeff and Matt all have claims. Shit, even RVD does.

Juan 02-01-2009 01:18 AM

True.

Juan 02-01-2009 01:21 AM

what a great spot

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:21 AM

I find though, that although those guys may be kings of the tag team ladder matches, Jericho excels at the singles ladder matches.

Jeff Hardy has had a few singles ladder matches, and they lack the quality of Jericho's singles ladder matches.
Also, Edge has had some good ones but they don't really compare. They're damn good, but they don't stand out like their tag matches.

So yea, multi-man Ladder matches are Edge, Christian, Jeff and Matt's business, but Jericho and HBM are best in one on one matches.

Also, Jericho has been in TLC3, TLC4 and two MITB matches. So he's no slouch to the big multiple-man ones.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:23 AM

I'd like to see a list of every ladder match WWE has had and see who's been in the most.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:24 AM

Oh shit that looked like it could have been bad. That's some good luck right there.

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:25 AM

That was a genius move. Swinging it to distract him for the bulldog.

Juan 02-01-2009 01:26 AM

holy shit

Juan 02-01-2009 01:26 AM

it still bugged me that the ref was in the ring for that match

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:27 AM

lol I know why the fuck was he there

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:30 AM

You got a pick? If so, go. If not, I got my next one ready.

Juan 02-01-2009 01:31 AM

No, go for it mang

Kane

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:36 AM

I love these random, but awesome tag teams. Kane going solo is amazing too

Juan 02-01-2009 01:36 AM

This is a good one. It's on the Raw 15th Anniversary DVD.

I always wished we could've seen more of the Jeff/RVD duo

Jeritron 02-01-2009 01:41 AM

I love that JR is going Joey Styles for this match. I never noticed that he was alone on commentary
