Just so ya know, for future reference it's M'aiq. He is by far one of the craziest people you'll run across, as well as (suprisingly, since his role is so minor) one of the longest running characters as he's been in Morrowind and Oblivion as well.

The Phenom 12-18-2011 04:29 PM

I finally got to play this game. This game is awesome. There is so much to do in this game it's not even funny. Aldiun is tough as hell.

Captain of Fun 12-20-2011 03:50 AM

Damn it, I didn't know your housecarl could die. Was considering marrying that chick. Not to mention she was carrying a ton of loot which I had to abandon.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-20-2011 05:37 AM

I found out you could marry the housecarl after I had already married the chick from that trader store with the weird brother.

She died in the battle against the Stormcloaks. Didn't bother to reload and do it over. It felt sort of more epic when I killed Urlrich and then gave him a makeshift Pedigree dragging his body up and down with force. That was awesome.

D Mac 12-20-2011 05:57 AM

I'm a Stormcloak and I shall see you hanged for your treachery!

James Diesel 12-20-2011 07:28 AM

FOR THE EMPIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you ask enough after joining them, the Dark Brotherhood eventually gives you a side contract that involves the housecarl of Falkreath. I'd also like to know if anyone knows if killing the housecarl of a hold (not the steward) has any affect on the Thane of (whatever hold) quest for that area, as all I've gotten from attempting the Falkreath one after having offed Helvard for the Dark Brotherhood are the same "The Jarl has put out a bounty on the dragon in Ancient's Ascent" 3 times, and one of the times was from talking to the barkeeper in town instead of the steward. So frustrated with this right now.

OssMan 12-20-2011 02:07 PM

I played it for a few hours. Pretty fun. Will not buy, might buy in like 3 years. Fun to burn the people with fire in your left hand.

DAMN iNATOR 12-20-2011 02:36 PM

Love the rune spells...but they use up too much damned magicka at once. :(

El Fangel 12-20-2011 03:51 PM

My character was naked, with no potions, no weapons and no armour because I left it all at home in Whiterun while I went to Winterhold seeking a smelter.

A dragon attacked at the point in time. I hid like a naked little coward.

I had Vilkas from the companions in a Full Set of Legendary Ebony Armor, with a Glass Two handed sword with a fire enchantment.

Did a Stormcloak Quest to take a fort, and I cannot fucking find him now. He must be dead, but I cannot find his body :(

LoDownM 12-22-2011 03:20 PM

He didn't show up when you fast traveled somewhere? I've had companions disappear like that before, and they usually showed up when I fast travel.

El Fangel 12-22-2011 09:59 PM

Started a new file the other day, battlemage high elve.

Killed two giants before Level 3.

Did you tell him to wait somewhere? I lost one of mine and had to wait up to 3 days and it said they got tired of waiting and went home.

Crimson 12-23-2011 10:29 PM

Ok how do you have someone follow you around and aid you?

El Fangel 12-23-2011 11:37 PM

Find them and buy their services. Check the inn in Whiterun, should be a guy there.

James Diesel 12-24-2011 12:37 AM

Anyone you have a brawl with at an inn will usually become a follower. There are several followers for hire, (soonest one is at the weapons shop in front of you at the entrance to Whiterun)

Why would you do this?

El Fangel 12-24-2011 02:23 AM

Its difficult to move with 320+ pounds of smithing materials on top of armor and potions

Captain of Fun 12-24-2011 02:26 AM

So why didn't you fast travel?

El Fangel 12-24-2011 02:37 AM

...I did.

Captain of Fun 12-24-2011 02:48 AM

Well, I would of slapped that dragon in it's stupid face with my nutsac.

Instant one-hit kill. Harden up, princess.

El Fangel 12-24-2011 03:00 AM

I stupidly had not saved in awhile. :(

I was going to try with a dagger which was all so had for weaponry.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-24-2011 09:30 AM

doesnt it auto save after awhile?

Some people will follow you after you complete a task for them. Later on there is a weapon that draws powers when you kill those people betraying them. So, its good to try to keep them alive until then.

Yes, but I had no idea how long ago that was and I had done a lot I didn't want to do again.

Londoner 12-25-2011 07:59 AM

Got this today surprisingly, forgot though that you can't use a verification code twice which sucks.

edit: Still downloading, incredibly slow!

Londoner 12-25-2011 11:57 AM

Well this is fucking shit so far tbh. Start seems to drag on and on, and for some reason my settings are stuck on master level when i was just searching to see how many levels there were, now can't fucking change it.(even started a new game to see if it changed back to the beginner level but no luck, still stuck) Also my computer doesn't seem to be able to handle the speed very well even though there should be nothing wrong with it. Oh well.

edit: Fixed the level problem, gameplay seems abit better on a different resolution but needs to be better. Not sure if its just my computer though.

Captain of Fun 12-25-2011 12:37 PM

lol saw 4 skeletons chasing a rabbit. Fantastic.

Kris P Lettus 12-25-2011 12:52 PM

This game is immense.. Around level 25 but even though I've been diligent, I'm pretty sure I've missed alot.. Need to buy the book with some of this x-mas loot and replay it..

Crimson 12-25-2011 08:15 PM

Ugh I was clearing out skullcave, I killed every badguy. Then I couldnt for the life of me find my way out..thenn I got stuck inbetween 2 rocks and couldnt jump out or anything!

Finally I just shut it off..hopefully im not in the exact same spot ie stuck in the cave

Crimson 12-25-2011 08:46 PM

So am I fucked or are you insinuating I use a spell

Kris P Lettus 12-25-2011 08:51 PM

Just saying I've been in a similar situation to that..

You prolly got to go back to a previous save.. I just lucked out when it happened to me cause you get this teleportation spell in the Shivering Isles.. Haven't seen anything like that in Skyrim..

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-25-2011 08:55 PM

it autosaves everytime you enter a building so you should be ok unless you disabled autosave,

James Diesel 12-25-2011 08:56 PM

Whenever I've gotten stuck, I usually spend a good 5-10 minutes trying every single degree of movement to get out. If all fails, just revert to my last autosave considering I let mine save on all possibilities.(Wait, Rest, 15 min menu)

Crimson 12-25-2011 09:03 PM

Yea its pretty weird..I remember being ambushed by skeletons and I panicked and fell down a little cliff inside the cave. I checked every square inch, crawling and jumping against every wall before I got stuck inbetween rocks. Ah well ..wont mind doing that mission again

Captain of Fun 12-25-2011 11:35 PM

God I love using unrelenting force, and just flinging guys off of 5 story ledges.

Yes

Not big into the magic aspects of these games but the Dragon Shouts are amazing.. Specially that one..

I like throwing bears off of mountains..

El Capitano Gatisto 12-26-2011 12:07 PM

I've been playing a fair bit but I'm not sure I even enjoy the actual gameplay that much...just getting stuff done, finding stuff, unlocking things. The combat is absolutely woeful, I really hoped they would have improved it from Oblivion, better than adding a few finishing moves anyway. At least bring in an element of timing and weight to the proceedings. Combat is always such a massive letdown in Bethesda games.

I have Conjuration levelled up to 100 and have Illia following me armed with several staffs I've passed on to her (Chain Lightning, Fireball, Dread Zombie and the Sanguine Rose) so most battles end pretty quickly when I summon a Dremora Lord.
