Wow, just realized that Garcon is the 7th highest paid WR in the NFL, and he has never had a 1000 yard season. Nice contract Skins.

Evil Vito 03-14-2012 10:22 AM

The NFL Free Agency period is so weird. In MLB, guys take ages to sign because they meet with all interested suitors. In the NFL, most guys meet with one team and usually sign with them before meeting anybody else. I dunno why NFL players generally don't shop around much (Peyton excluded).

Peter King said that Mario Williams was seen leaving Buffalo's medical facility

then again Peter King is Peter King

Ermaximus 03-14-2012 10:56 AM

Peter King is almost as bad as Pete Prisco.

Reports coming out that Peyton Manning got it narrowed down to the Broncos and Titans.

I'm gonna doing less work and more cell phone checking at my job in a little while.

FearedSanctity 03-14-2012 11:30 AM

Broncos and Elway continue to wait to find out just how much money they have to throw at Manning's forehead while CBs, LBs and RBs that could turn the teams weaknesses into strengths visit and sign elsewhere. Solid strategy.

Oh but wait! Brandon Meriweather!

He is quality but not a two time probowler and considered the best guard in the NFL..

Kris P Lettus 03-14-2012 11:46 AM

I've said the whole time, they should have kept Brees and Nicks, and let Colston go.. Specially with the talks about Randy Moss looking prime ans all..

Bucs took our center Jeff Faine a few years back and Goodwin did a good job of replacing him so we'll see.. I just think it won't matter who Brees is throwing to if the line can not keep him clean in the pocket (e.g. the Rams game from this past season)..

Who was the source on that? Droford?

The NFC South is going to be a knock down drag out fight this season. The Bucs are making some good moves and I think Freeman is due a breakout season. I expect the Panthers to be competitive too. And as much as I hate the Aints, as long as they've got Brees behind center they've got to be a favorite in any game, except against the Falcons.

Can't wait for Madden '13.

Ermaximus 03-14-2012 11:58 AM

Colts trade 6th round pick for Eagles OT Justice and the Eagles 6th round pick. Ok?

apparently they have a meeting with Paul Soliai later, which is good

otherwise though they are bothering me

FearedSanctity 03-14-2012 12:21 PM

Every website I read praises the Broncos for being "smart" for waiting for the money to go down, like they did last year. Problem is, the money goes down because the quality of players goes down too. Here's last years FA crop:

RB Willis McGahee
WR David Anderson
TE Dante Rosario
TE Daniel Fells
DE Derrick Harvey
DE Jamaal Anderson
DE Ty Warren
RB CJ Gable
LB Alvin Bowen
DT DeMario Pressley
CB Jonathan Wilhite

Now, besides Willis, how well did that work out for them?

Ermaximus 03-14-2012 12:30 PM

Luke McCown is now a Bear. He'll compete for the #3 spot behind Cutler and Campbell.

Could have let Colston go, Saints only have 14 other people who can score.

I'm tracking Bud Adams flight to North Carolina

Peyton Manning has turned me into a stalker

Since 2000, Falcons have only beaten the Saints 8 times out of 24 games..

That's 2-1 for the Saints, if you can do math, holmes..

Kris P Lettus 03-14-2012 01:07 PM

That last post was too Droford like..

I apologize..

Nark Order 03-14-2012 01:14 PM

The Falcons are that team that take up a playoff spot every year but you know they aren't going to win. PRETTY ASSHOLE MOVE IF YOU ASK ME.

Ermaximus 03-14-2012 01:18 PM

So Kris P, odds that Brees holds out?

Kris P Lettus 03-14-2012 01:20 PM

He won't..

They should have just signed him to a 5 year deal.. I feel like the team is falling apart but he has said the whole time, he'd take a pay cut to retire a Saint..

Why take it back 12 years? What's the all time record Kris P? Hint: It's 46-40 Falcons. BTW, our quarterback hasn't even hit his prime yet and is going to have two Pro-Bowl caliber receivers to throw to for years to come. Maybe you guys can pick up Jason Campbell next year after Benson starts being cheap again and Brees walks.

I'm not going to be patronized by a 49ers fan. You shouldn't even be allowed to talk trash to me Narc. Do you still have to go to a baseball stadium to watch your games, or did they finally get over Steve Young/Jerry Rice and get serious about football?

Division changes..

I realize that we were in the same division before but it seemed liked a good starting point..

Bills CEO.

Mario is still in Buffalo. He went with the coaches to the airport this AM, after getting a physical, to pick up his fiance whom they flew in. They are now apparently meeting the players and their wives.

They are really putting on the full court press.

The way Tony Homo goes down every year, that's actually not a bad place to land.

Former Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett's deal with the New York Giants: 1 year, $2.5 million.

We need some bodies at TE now.

You might end up with Mario and Mario on your team now. Manningham is talking to the Bills now too and by the looks of it, Williams is almost a dead lock as a Bill now.
