Yeah, I usually just play whoever has the voice actor I like best. Plus, the black widow perk is handy since most the enemies are male.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-11-2015 12:27 PM

Actually, thinking about it, there's relationships too so maybe I'll get some lesbian action later too without the Mass Effect style creepy sex scenes.

Sixx 11-11-2015 12:31 PM

You're not allowed inside my fort.

So more like The Witcher 3 cheesy scenes? :naughty::naughty::naughty:

Forgot to mention that I'm really aggravated with the UI at times. Scrolling through the Pip Boy and many of the menus doesn't feel all too intuitive with the mouse/keyboard.

drave 11-11-2015 04:41 PM

The menus aren't intuitive at all. Biggest complaint from me as well.

road doggy dogg 11-11-2015 04:41 PM

Really makes the PC version feel like a console port tbh

drave 11-11-2015 04:46 PM

Shut up.

road doggy dogg 11-11-2015 05:05 PM

what

Shadow 11-11-2015 05:24 PM

I think the emphasis was using the Pip Boy Ap more then the in game Pip Boy. Too bad I can't get it to connect to my PC. Might fiddle with it a bit later on.

Just like with Amiibos, seems like scalpers are having a field day with the limited edition Nuka Cola drink. Some reports about employees themselves at certain stores hoarding bottles and scalpers reselling them for as high as $150 per bottle.

More supplies might be on the way but no guarantee the same won't happen again.

Meanwhile the Fallout 4 themed beer is getting panned in review scores for how bad it is.

What's wrong with machine gun turrets?

Kris P Lettus 11-11-2015 07:38 PM

After seeing someone build a "tree house" I cleared the cul-de-sac in Sanctuary and built a three floor compound with the largest pre fab wooden building on top. I haven't even played a mission today.

It's now like five stories fully loaded

Kris P Lettus 11-11-2015 09:13 PM

Leveled up like 4 times just building

Fignuts 11-11-2015 10:45 PM

Didn't realize materials aren't shared between settlements automatically. Have to assign supply lines to connect them.

Fignuts 11-11-2015 10:49 PM

Just routing a supply line from every settlement to one so I can focus on just that and turn it into an impregnable super mutant shredding fortress.

road doggy dogg 11-11-2015 11:37 PM

The supply lines / settler assignments are hard to keep track of. I feel like if I want to get real serious about making a major network of settlements that I need better tools to keep track of that stuff.

Wonder if people will make a mod for that kind of thing. Feels like I'm playing Civilization but with no way of tracking my resources a bit. It's not too bad now because I only have 5-6 settlements (and only 1 that I'm really actually kind of working on) but I can foresee my OCD making this a potentially aggravating process

This is a great idea and I'm so doing it once I finish my fortress. Gonna try and just focus on one settlement at a time. Gonna havta add beacons, beds and stuff to the others to improve the main one.

Definitely recommend going through the help section on the pause menu. Explains a lot more than the in game hints.

Yeah later on, once I start spider webbing them togrther it's going to be impossible to keep track of which settler is going between which settlements. It only tells you how many lines you have. Doesn't even tell you which settlements are connected. Could have been handled better. Probably a case where the realism isn't worth the effort and they should have made all resources shared by default.

Kris P Lettus 11-11-2015 11:55 PM

I haven't even gotten to the whole supply line stuff yet. I still can't figure out the electrical but have gotten pretty good at building amazing buildings from scratch. I'm so into building this huge fortress I literally didn't pursue a single mission all day. This game is intense.

P.s. I will.cheque out that help section in the morning

Shisen Kopf 11-12-2015 12:01 AM

wanna get this game so bad but i'm gonna be moving to a new place next month and have to buy shit like washing machines and dryers and shit so I gotta save money. Hmmm. maybe I could start a gofundme?!

Dude, I'm 6 hours into the game and I've literally only done two missions. I've spent soooo much time building and looking for building materials it's not even funny.

Fignuts 11-12-2015 12:56 AM

I've pretty much only done missions for the sole purpose of finding more materials.

Kris P Lettus 11-12-2015 01:01 AM

Did any of you get the Local Leader perk yet?

road doggy dogg 11-12-2015 01:23 AM

Yeah, it's a pre-req to do supply lines. I dare say it's a near-mandatory perk with how important settlements seem to be

Fignuts 11-12-2015 02:55 AM

You don't need it for supply lines, but for building shops.

Fignuts 11-12-2015 03:01 AM

Going to give my settlers unique clothes so I can tell them apart.

Tom Guycott 11-12-2015 03:27 AM

So, UPS showed up today a bit before noon with my game. I just stopped playing because sensory overload and on top of not being to bed yet since I got off work this morning (my fallout binge now puts me at 28+ hours).

And I haven't done jack shit in the way of gameplay. I'm just now about to go fight raiders in the Corvega plant, and I stopped there because I nodded off in a firefight. I spent all day tinkering with how I look, tinkering with how my wife looked, tinkering with the town, tinkering with the power armor, tinkering with the town some more, and tinkering with my arsenal for a diverse set of guns from game start bullcrap weaponry.

I'm a bit disappointed my phone won't work with the Pip-Boy. It is actually "too old" for the software, and my tablet is too big for the cosmetics. Oh well, looks nice on the stand!

Though odd, and mostly impractical, you can use "both" Pip-Boys at the same time in real time. I was fiddling around with the various equippable armor bits in game and decided to change the music since that menu was still open on my tablet. Again, mostly impractical (except as a non-PC player, that music hotkey comes in handy when I need to suddenly sneak), but cool all the same.

I also dig the improved shortcuts. Granted, I still have to get used to actually selecting the weapon/item with an additional button press (it doesn't just snap to on select), but it is better than the clumsy diagonal d-pad hotkeys, or the "down is always stimpak" shortcut in NV.

Seems like when Bethesda said the Fallout Shelter app wasn't for the purpose of making money, they weren't blowing as much smoke as it sounded... it seems like a tutorial of sorts for the fortress making portion of 4.

Level 1 of the perk is supply lines, level 2 is building shops.

is that a mutant

road doggy dogg 11-12-2015 09:07 AM

wife needs Nikki Bella look, 4/10

Tom Guycott 11-12-2015 09:09 AM

Super mutant. In the most literal terms. You gan get down to 1 hp and not die, even fighting barehanded vs a deathclaw. You can also get down to 1 ap and still hit criticals in VATS.
