DA COLTS GOING ALL THE WAY THIS YEAR BITCHES!

Feel like people are underselling how ridiculous it sounds to hand over your phone to the bumbling fumbling NFL. Gisele's tits would be all over the Internet the next week.

#1-norm-fan 07-28-2015 11:07 PM

Wanting him to hand over his cell phone is a definite invasion of privacy.

The man is clearly guilty as shit though. He broke the rules and he's getting punished. It's pretty cut and dry.

Nark Order 07-28-2015 11:19 PM

Yeah. But not really though. You can try to make it sound as serious as you want but it is pretty much a non-issue that had no real impact on the conclusion of the game. It is pretty infuriating to watch as a rational human being.

Nark Order 07-28-2015 11:21 PM

People don't like Tom Brady because he is a good football player. Everybody is making a large issue of this because of who he is and not because of what he did. That's what it comes down to.

#1-norm-fan 07-28-2015 11:30 PM

If it didn't have any real impact on the game (which I agree, it probably didn't) then that makes him breaking the rules even more retarded and he deserves to be punished for being a fucking moron.

You realize the penalty for deflating the footballs is only a fine of $30,000 right?

#1-norm-fan 07-28-2015 11:41 PM

Man, he really should have just fessed up and taken that then. Sucks to be him.

#1-norm-fan 07-28-2015 11:44 PM

I mean not really. Because Giselle and shit. But... you know what I mean.

SlickyTrickyDamon 07-28-2015 11:47 PM

Bring on Federal Court. Goddell is going to get strung up and then fired!

In a weird move, the NFL is now giving road teams the option of wearing their home jerseys during Thursday Night Football this year rather than the road team having to wear a white road jersey. This would result in what they call in college football "color on color" games.

If well-received it might become mandatory in 2016. We could eventually wind up with nobody wearing white jerseys at all except for Dallas.

Nark Order 07-29-2015 12:31 AM

#1-wwf-fan, how is it that I have never agreed with one thing you have ever said on this website? Like, you think it would have happened on accident by now. It's seriously unprecedented.

Brady's ban would have then dropped to at least two games and possibly one. It appears Brady is dead-set on taking the NFL to court to get his suspension wiped out completely or he's going to take the heat and sit the four games.

From Rotoworld on a supposed deal NFL offered to Brady. Wanted him to take full blame for everything regardless on how shaky the Wells report itself was with Deflategate. Then apologize to Goodell probably for both Deflategate and trying to upstage his authority with the legal threats. Doing all of that still wouldn't guarantee a reduction since Goodell still reserved the right to deny the appeal but keep the admission. Since he didn't the league is now "suing" him to get a federal court ruling on their side and prevent Brady's case from happening in a more player-friendly court.

Going to assume Garoppolo must be Big Ben type size but laughing at the mental image of him being Wilfork size instead.

I'm convinced he'll perform well again if Brady's four-game suspension sticks. New England does an outstanding job of preparing young players and Garoppolo showed good decision-making last season. He isn't afraid to throw the ball downfield and we're talking about a coach, in Bill Belichick, who milked an 11-win season out of Matt Cassel.

NFL Network released a ranking of all the back up QBs in the league and Garoppolo got ranked #4. Odd dig at Peyton though.

That doesn't seem good unless they have an exception for teams with similar color jerseys.

I was at some Hawks vs. Knicks game and the Knicks wore orange jerseys while the Hawks wore red and it was really annoying to watch.

Yeesh...what an eyesore.

I assume the NFL would either make a team wear white in those instances or have a team wear an alt jersey with a different color scheme or something. Like a Bengals/Steelers game if the Bengals are on the road, they'd need to wear their orange jersey, not a black one.

road doggy dogg 07-29-2015 09:23 AM

Yeah I could see that being awful if no stipulations are added. So many teams have red, or blue jerseys. If it's Green Bay and Baltimore or something then whatever, but if it's two red teams then one should have to wear an alternate if they go that route.

Although I must say I watched a Royals/Blue Jays game earlier this season with Toronto wearing their blues and KC wearing this baby blue colour and it looked pretty cool

Brady<s>'s lawyer</s> issued the following statement over Facebook:

Quote:

I am very disappointed by the NFL's decision to uphold the 4 game suspension against me. I did nothing wrong, and no one in the Patriots organization did either.

Despite submitting to hours of testimony over the past 6 months, it is disappointing that the Commissioner upheld my suspension based upon a standard that it was "probable" that I was "generally aware" of misconduct. The fact is that neither I, nor any equipment person, did anything of which we have been accused. He dismissed my hours of testimony and it is disappointing that he found it unreliable.

I also disagree with yesterdays narrative surrounding my cellphone. I replaced my broken Samsung phone with a new iPhone 6 AFTER my attorneys made it clear to the NFL that my actual phone device would not be subjected to investigation under ANY circumstances. As a member of a union, I was under no obligation to set a new precedent going forward, nor was I made aware at any time during Mr. Wells investigation, that failing to subject my cell phone to investigation would result in ANY discipline.

Most importantly, I have never written, texted, emailed to anybody at anytime, anything related to football air pressure before this issue was raised at the AFC Championship game in January. To suggest that I destroyed a phone to avoid giving the NFL information it requested is completely wrong.

To try and reconcile the record and fully cooperate with the investigation after I was disciplined in May, we turned over detailed pages of cell phone records and all of the emails that Mr. Wells requested. We even contacted the phone company to see if there was any possible way we could retrieve any/all of the actual text messages from my old phone. In short, we exhausted every possibility to give the NFL everything we could and offered to go thru the identity for every text and phone call during the relevant time. Regardless, the NFL knows that Mr. Wells already had ALL relevant communications with Patriots personnel that either Mr. Wells saw or that I was questioned about in my appeal hearing. There is no "smoking gun" and this controversy is manufactured to distract from the fact they have zero evidence of wrongdoing.

I authorized the NFLPA to make a settlement offer to the NFL so that we could avoid going to court and put this inconsequential issue behind us as we move forward into this season. The discipline was upheld without any counter offer. I respect the Commissioners authority, but he also has to respect the CBA and my rights as a private citizen. I will not allow my unfair discipline to become a precedent for other NFL players without a fight.

Lastly, I am overwhelmed and humbled by the support of family, friends and our fans who have supported me since the false accusations were made after the AFC Championship game. I look forward to the opportunity to resume playing with my teammates and winning more games for the New England Patriots.

So yeah...hope you didn't want to hear about actual football news anytime soon because this story isn't going away anytime soon. It's gonna go to federal court and everyone will be under oath.

Unless they get the case expedited this is probably going to drag on into the regular season anyway, making it all a bit moot.

Giants sign WR James Jones.

I actually really like that, especially given the uncertainty of Cruz/OBJ's health and Randle being iffy over the years. Good value signing for this late in the offseason.

NFL's plan to get a pro-league judge on their side with the Brady dispute in New York ended up backfiring a bit. Instead of quickly ruling in favor of Goodell and the NFL, the judge told both sides to quit with the war of the words and get an actual deal done without getting the courts involved.

Similar announcement was made by a pro-players judge in Minnesota. Also suggested the case to be heard in New York since it makes more sense regionally even though it was clear why the request was made in Minnesota.

Bills and not the NFL were the ones who handed out the punishment. Won't get anything extra by the NFL since they were pleased with the decision.

I'm really fucking pissed off that the Ravens are being made out as the bad guys for tipping off the Colts about the deflated footballs.

Maybe Tom Brady should shut the fuck up about telling the Ravens to read the rule book.

Usually around this time of year I think "oh, preseason...well hey it's football, cool I guess". and then after about 10 minutes when the starters are out of the game I remember that preseason football is unspeakably boring yet I'll probably watch the entirety of the Giants' preseason games anyway.

Evil Vito 08-06-2015 11:28 AM

In theory an offense consisting of Eli, OBJ, Cruz, Randle, Donnell, Jennings, and Vereen should be able to score a lot of points. But if the O-line is as bad as last year, that will probably cancel out everything else. And right now it's still a huge question mark.

And the defense...who knows. I think they'll have plenty of quality pass rushing weapons even without JPP. Secondary seems to be a total crapshoot beyond DRC and Prince, though. They have 6 safeties in camp right now and all 6 have been getting first team reps because they really have no idea who the fuck their starting safeties will be.
