Reading were shit again incidently, if that's what it takes to be around the play-offs then we should be there next season. Wolves will go up if Hoddle stays imo.

Mr. Monday Morning 05-08-2005 11:32 AM

Unbeaten since January (unless I'm making stuff up in my head) - he reckons one way or another his future will be sorted out by the end of next week. We'd better fucking keep him

Danny Electric 05-08-2005 11:39 AM

Imagine if you won all those games you drew.

Wengerland 05-08-2005 11:54 AM

Dennis Wise has resigned at Millwall, hopefully he gets out of football now.

Cactus Sid 05-08-2005 12:56 PM

Absolutely disgraceful first half performance from Liverpool, and the worst of the bunch was Gerrard.

Absolute passenger, has barely played a pass, has given the ball away, looks disinterested. He's playing in a position behind Baros, but is still technically a midfielder. Its funny, because right now, he's not supporting Baros, and he's not helping out the defence at all. Another absolutely shit performance.

The defence have let the fans "HOOF" chants get in their heads. They need to ignore them and just get the ball up field, because they are putting way too much pressure on the midfield, who are also playing utterly abysmally.

Our only way forward in the second half is to go like for like. Get Hamann off and Slot Kewell and Cisse up front. We've got a choice, we can either go for it, and risk losing more heavily, or stay as it is, and be an absolute embarassment. I know what I'd do.

Wengerland 05-08-2005 01:04 PM

If only Riise had squared the ball that time.

I'd get Garcia off personally, he may be able to produce a good strike every so often but his build up play is terrible, always gives possession away. Even in the Juventus first leg apart from the goal he did nothing. Still, as you need the win then i suppose he'll be left on, Kewell on for Traore i'd do, Fabregas won't stay wide so they can get at Lauren.

May aswell throw Cisse on for Hamann too in a bit, didn't see the bench but Morientes would be worth putting on if he's there too -edit- just seen he's not, don't bother then, Smicer's not worth it :$

Cactus Sid 05-08-2005 01:13 PM

Huzzah, Gerrard scores

Wengerland 05-08-2005 01:59 PM

Finished 3-1, Fabregas finished it off at the end. Much improved performance from Liverpool second half, just started 45 minutes too late.

Congrats to Everton for making it into the champions league anyhow.

Cactus Sid 05-08-2005 02:05 PM

Amazing goal by Fabregas, real class.

We were better, but not great in the second half

Guess our only hope is a legal challenge or something, truly disappointed to be finishing behind Everton.

Cactus Sid 05-08-2005 02:11 PM

What also bothers me is that Everton probably wont even qualify for the Champions League, I'm not quite sure how its gonna work, but the fact they haven't even qualified for the Uefa Cup in years surely means they'll have to play from either the First or Second qualifiers.

Wengerland 05-08-2005 02:12 PM

You can still get in if UEFA allow England 5 places, assuming you win the Champions League. It wouldn't really be fair to whoever misses out, but they could throw Inter out i guess, for that crowd episode.

The Champions should be allowed to defend it, but that shouldn't be at Everton's expense.

Y2Ant 05-08-2005 02:27 PM

I didn't know Xabi Alonso was such a diving cunt :o

Y2Ant 05-08-2005 02:33 PM

:wavesad: Stan Ternent

Ogen 05-08-2005 04:06 PM

I hope they don't allow 5 teams in as much as Liverpool deserve to be there it'd be rediculous to have a quater of the leauge in it

I always thought they would go straight in at the 3rd round basically because they are from the English league which has done well in Europe recently - like it was the stature of the league more than the stature of the team itself.

Wengerland 05-08-2005 05:22 PM

Your chairman HAS to renew Ternant's contract, then you should be challenging next season.

toxic rooster 05-08-2005 10:23 PM

LOL YOU'LL BE PLAYING ROTHERHAM NEXT SEASON

Didn't Newcastle have to go through 2 qualifiers?

I wouldn't say he's a diver, he's just like most foreigners and goes down really easily.

Cactus Sid 05-09-2005 05:33 AM

Also, I am really tempted to put a sly tenner on Everton being relegated next season

Rob Ban Fan 05-09-2005 08:59 AM

I fucking hate Bolton fans.

Apparently de Zeeuw is "childish" for not shaking Diouf's hand before the game, then they all go mental and clap him when he puts in two footed challenges on players and chant his name and do all this we are not worthy bollocks.

I hope Liverpool sell him to some La Liga club or something and they crash out of Europe without him.

Plus that fat fuck Sam Alladyce nearly ran me over after the match.

We played them this season, beat them twice :|

whatever, i'm accepting it, although i agree that we need to renew Ternents contract. With him and a few players staying, we will be a force to be reckoned with in league 1.

If you stand in front of the chip shops, expect no mercy from fat northern wankers.

Freddy Adu > Karl Frederick Ljundberg

Y2Ant 05-09-2005 03:15 PM

I am glad to see that you detest Bolton fans as much as I do, Pricey my son.

They will still have to qualify though and there will be some decent teams in there, it won't be easy to get in in the first place.

cafctom 05-10-2005 03:14 PM

Charlton fan here!

Poor end to the season from us, very poor. Nothing new though really, I expected it for quite a while and the shame of it is that we could have made the top 7 and got a Europeanplace if we had kept up the form that we were showing about 5 months ago.

It is something that has become inevitable with Charlton though over the past 5 years.

Danny Electric 05-10-2005 03:18 PM

Yeah, you always have a poor end to the season.

Rob 05-10-2005 04:26 PM

Roy Carroll is a useless cunt.

Are you one of those who wants Curbishley out?

Can't say i agree with them as a neutral, but you were pretty poor against Man Utd so i dunno, maybe a change could be what's needed.

Dunno why either Man U or Arsenal didn't move for Paul Robinson last season. They should both kick themselves up the arse for letting that one slip by.

Danny Electric 05-10-2005 05:15 PM

I think it's the team, not Curbishley.
People in the team haven't stepped up.

Cactus Sid 05-10-2005 05:28 PM

Chelsea have torn United's defence apart tonight

Cactus Sid 05-10-2005 05:46 PM

Just been reading that Liverpool have apparently made an enquiry for Joaquin

If that turns out to be true.......

Danny Electric 05-10-2005 05:57 PM

Yeah.
I read that the other day on Sky Sports News website. Basically our competition is Chelsea and Real Madrid.
We must remember that Joaquin is a Madrid fan too.

Realistically, who is out there? I'm seriously happy enough with Tim Howard. He is young and talented and just needs games and forget the media who are dying to hound him. You don't turn into a shit player on 3 or 4 dodgy games.

I'm more concerned about Wes Brown and Miekel Silvestre tonight. Not good at all. Need a strong centre midfielder. Michael Essien would be nice if Chelsea don't nab him. Rino Gattuso would be a freaking Christmas miricle but he wants to come back to Britain so you never know. I'd start looking at Alan Smith replacing Paul Scholes too. His tackling is better for a start.

Without at least 3 players next season, Chelsea are going to run away with it again.
