The worst one was

"As mayor im banning all guns"

And yet 3 member of the team use guns to perform vigilante justice since (also mayors cant do that but it isnt the issue; if you say that in this show mayors can do that its fine but you're still a hypocrite [also lets gloss over the fact that if you're a vigilante their is an overt implication that law enforcement has failed)

McLegend 08-10-2019 09:01 AM

I’m almost done Arrow, and the Emiko storyline went downhill fast. It was never that great, but it got much worse, and doesn’t make sense.

I do prefer Mia Smoak, and you can talk me into a spin-off about her. Not that it would be good, but I can at least see it.

Stephen Amell is still bringing it.

Also The Flash was overall very subpar this year. It feels like everyone wants to go do something else. I don’t know much they have left either.

I enjoyed reading The Flash: Year One

Krypton has been cancelled after 2 seasons. And the potential Lobo spin-off is also dead.

Seanny One Ball 08-16-2019 07:29 PM

Krypton was crap

Destor 08-17-2019 03:25 AM

Should've never been green lit

slik 08-17-2019 03:35 AM

Since I don't read much Marvel - was most of Bendis's stuff at Marvel really talk heavy and felt like nothing fucking happened the majority of the time???

Read the first 3 (of 6) issues of EVENT LEVIATHAN and absolutely nothing has fucking happened. How is this supposed to be some big event series?!

I wish SyFY hadn't cancelled DEADLY CLASS, that's a comic series turned tv show I was really enjoying.

my dude, that is bendis to a t

https://longboxgraveyard.files.wordp...ng?w=604&h=567

good opinion article here - makes the point that bendis tells very good stories, but very bad comic book stories; that his work is more 'explosion at the word balloon factory' than melding words and images together to tell a story

can't say the author is wrong

slik 08-21-2019 01:46 AM

Thanks, that was a good article and seems pretty spot on w/ my Bendis experience thus far.

DC appears to kill-off (?) a major character in Batman 77 this week...

Guessing this won't last

Lock Jaw 09-19-2019 05:11 PM

Tom Welling going to be in Crisis on Infinite Earths

This drawing looks like it's from the 90s or something.

slik 09-20-2019 11:12 AM

Apparently DC has decided it is going to stick.

Also big rumors for 2020 are:

SPOILER: show

Batman and Catwoman do get married

Bruce retires, for now, as Bats. Brian Michael Bendis will take over the Batman comic and a Black Batman is coming.

Seanny One Ball 09-20-2019 11:22 AM

A black Batman would respond to the bat signal, get arrested immediately and be thrown in jail after a spectacular custodial beating that robbed him of all belief in justice.

Sixx 09-20-2019 01:00 PM

Black Robin seems better. Cause blacks be robbin'. HAHA

Kalyx triaD 09-20-2019 04:47 PM

Tim Burton's Robin was gonna be black. Marlon Wayans did the suit fitting and everything. He got paid fully for the role, too.

Seanny One Ball 09-20-2019 05:29 PM

Billy Dee Williams was Harvey Dent and they allowed that but never progressed to the Two Face stage. Maybe the world wasn't ready for a black hero saving Gotham from a black villain

Kalyx triaD 09-20-2019 11:40 PM

Actually they just cut Robin's origin from Batman. Joker was gonna kill Dick's parents during a chase but he wouldn't be Robin until 'Returns. We know of course of that went in 'Forever.

Jeffrey Wright in talks to play Jim Gordon while Jonah Hill is negotiating for an unknown role for Matt Reeves upcoming Batman movie.

Sixx 09-24-2019 02:02 AM

Oh, come the fuck on.

Jim Gordon is a wrinkly, old, white man. Period.

Seanny One Ball 09-24-2019 11:16 AM

Jeffrey Wright is one of the best actors in the world so even if it turns out that he wants to be Catwoman I say let him do whatever the fuck he wants.

Damian Rey 2.0 09-24-2019 01:28 PM

Agree with Mr lone testicle. Wright is criminally underrated. He's a great casting choice no matter what role he's given.

slik 09-24-2019 01:47 PM

I would like Jeffrey Wright to play Catwoman and Jonah Hill to play Bane, personally.

Or just avoid unnecessary drama and have him play Lucious Fox.

Seanny One Ball 09-24-2019 03:05 PM

You've never forgiven Eartha Kitt have you?

Your mum is a luscious fox

Lock Jaw 09-24-2019 03:21 PM

Mark Wahlberg for Lucius Fox

Kitt was awesome. Best Catwoman at the time.

RP 09-24-2019 07:54 PM

50 Cent should be Black Batman

in what way does gordon's ethnicity remotely impact on his character

jim gordon's defining characteristics are all moral/intangible, not cultural or racial

for real, what part of jim gordon is made lesser as a result of this change

why does this bother you

Kalyx triaD 09-24-2019 09:32 PM

Question works both ways. Race being irrelevant to his character (true), the tie breaker of sorts is has been a white character.

So race being unimportant, why should he be anything other than what he's been?

i'd just ask you "why not" because it literally does not matter

Destor 09-24-2019 10:42 PM

Cultural appropriation is gross...or isnt it...?

mitchables 09-24-2019 11:01 PM

no, it's always gross. this is not cultural appropriation.

Destor 09-24-2019 11:04 PM

Convenient

He's been depicted as an old, white guy for ages. Everyone's used to him being an old school mustachioed white cop. Changing it just for the sake of it is absolutely pointless. Pretty sure if it went the opposite way, them casting a white actor to portray a character that's always been black there would be riots.

Then again, it's DC so I don't think I care enough to go write a letter to the president just yet.

Damian Rey 2.0 09-24-2019 11:19 PM

Was it controversial when Mamoa was cast as Aquaman? Honestly don't recall.

I could give a shit about the ethnicity of the actor. I like the actor. I like the director. So even tho it's outta left field, i have faith this will be just fine and it'll bed much ado about nothing in the end.
