There was controversy from super-nerds like me who were all "He doesn't look like Aquaman!"

But now I think Aquaman is one of the best super-hero movies

Didn't they change Aquaman's look in the comics some time ago, too?

Yeah, first they gave him the long hair and beard (still blonde), and now he has got himself some Mamoa-esque tattoos

Way behind in reading everything

to be fair they gave aquaman that look (sans tatts) for like the entirety of the 1990s, so when momoa was announced i very much didn't think that he didn't look like aquaman; i just assumed they were going for the grittier '90s look

happy that they gave him a more colourful/comics-accurate costume for his solo film though

I was more offended by the mustache-less Jim Gordon in Gotham. As long as Jeffrey Wright has a moustache, it is all good.

"Cultural appropriation" is such a stupid term. The notion of it offends me.

Despite some issues with characters and plots CW is still doing more for DC tv than the movie guys did.

Now all they are missing is Dean Cain's Superman and Helen Slater as SuperWoman

The big one is Lynda Carter being WW again.

Maybe the KingDom Come one as Well?

Routh is likely playing an otherwise new take on Supes based on KC Superman that isn't the 'Returns/Reeves version of the character. It's probably because of that detail that they didn't go that way considering the implications that could follow (if 'Returns universe is meta-canon, why not the scores of other DC movie universes?).

It appears the only returning characters retaining their own canon are on the TV show level, like Smallville and Birds of Prey of all things. They probably feel silly for wasting that "Save Me" theme swerve from last year's crossover.

In the sense that they are far from hot, yes.

Bendis gonna have Superman's secret identity exposed to the world..... again.... Feel like they literally just fixed that mess....

Don't like Bendis or what he has been doing at all.....

He killed off the Super Sons duo, which was a delight. He appears to force 'big things' to kind of justify his acquisition and I'm not so sure any of his status quo changes will last 5yrs in such a reboot happy environment, including Clark 'coming out'. He repurposed Riri Williams as Teen Lantern.

Scott Snyder's last issue of JUSTICE LEAGUE will be in January. Snyder has hinted he will write a JSA book set in the 1940s afterwards. Also - Damian is solicited for Legion of Superheroes issue 3 as joining Jonathan Kent in the future for a story.

I am curious to see if Bendis will be the one to write upcoming CRISIS event in 2020 that will tie in all timelines and relaunch DC into the big 5G phase.

5G sort of sounds like it could be the boldest overhaul of DC since the original Crisis on Infinite Earths

6 years, tops.

I do appreciate a ballsy attempt to move time forward, which is in line with the fact that these heroes are symbols that can be adopted.

DC rumored to take a two month break from regularly monthly titles in Aug 2020 for a 'Convergence' like event ahead of the next big CRISIS that will lead to 5G stuff I mentioned earlier...

Per bleedingcool.com DC also shuffling around all group editors...Bats and Supes 'group editors' that oversee all continuity for both books getting re-shuffled first...

Might have a reason to join

The Justice Society of America will reportedly have a role in the Black Adam movie......

I honestly hope it is a small role, because they deserve their own movie more than Black Adam does....
