James Steele 01-14-2014 11:06 PM

Only Afterlife could shit all over Vince McMahon for giving us this wonderful gift of WWE Network for $9.99/month.

James Steele 01-14-2014 11:08 PM

Iron Shiek should get a nightly talk show on WWE Network. "Shieky Live!"

FourFifty 01-14-2014 11:53 PM

Any faction in history... hmmm...
<strike>I'm going to go with The Kliq.</strike>
EDIT- Forget factions, I'm going with Tyler Breeze.

Afterlife 01-15-2014 08:48 AM

Hey! I like things!

Seth82 01-15-2014 04:56 PM

I'd have to go with The Four Horsemen (Flair, Arn, Tully & Ole version)

Anybody Thrilla 01-15-2014 06:14 PM

Pretty Mean Sisters. I'll be their Meat, even though I'm not normally into black chicks.

Anybody Thrilla 01-15-2014 06:15 PM

Wait, no, make that The Beautiful People.

XL 01-15-2014 06:24 PM

That quip about feuding over who has a "stupid gigantic entrance", was that a reference to The Ascension or one of the more promiscuous Divas?

Poit 01-15-2014 07:00 PM

Probably the Ascension, but I like yours funnier.

James Steele 01-15-2014 07:40 PM

The Authority as they fuck the corpse of Daniel Bryan's career.

Emperor Smeat 01-15-2014 09:20 PM

Corporate Ministry

loopydate 01-16-2014 02:35 AM

nWo at its most bloated, like early '98 or so. Can you imagine the ridiculousness of spending a fortnight with Hall, Nash, Hogan, Bischoff, Syxx, Vincent, Liz, Dusty, Buff, Norton, Konnan, Hennig, Rude, Louie Spicolli, Adams, Brutus, and Big Poppa Pump?

Gone Mad 01-17-2014 10:24 AM

Good show, guys!

Gotta go with 3MB, because I am stupid.

Seems like the pretty obvious answer for any heterosexual male.

#1-norm-fan 01-17-2014 08:05 PM

So if you meant it is the correct answer for Seth, I am inclined to agree.

Afterlife 01-18-2014 05:51 PM

There are no words for the blandness.

#1-norm-fan 01-18-2014 05:54 PM

Oh yeah. Afterlife, too.

FourFifty 01-18-2014 11:16 PM

Been keeping up with my new years resolution to watch NXT.
I'm pretty sure Tyler Breeze can sell a Chris Beniot highlights tape to Kevin Sullivan. Hit Breeze in the face and he sells that much.

Mr. Nerfect 01-19-2014 10:10 PM

If we're talking male faction, it'd have to be the Four Horsemen. I'd also be tempted by The House of Truth because of Scarlett Bordeaux and Valerie Malone.

Question Of The Week:

Which current diva/female wrestler do you believe could have the wrestling longevity of Mae Young?

FourFifty 01-21-2014 10:10 PM

No one said Evolution because of how much of an energy drain Randy is nowadays.

As of this week's answer... No. Just no. No one else is going to hit that level of legacy that Mae Young has hit.

James Steele 01-21-2014 11:59 PM

Stephanie McMahon because Triple H's penis is the fountain of youth. Proof: Look at Chyna before, during, and after copious amounts of Paul Levesque coitus.

Emperor Smeat 01-22-2014 03:52 PM

AJ.

XL 01-22-2014 05:17 PM

I don't think there's a man that can match the longevity of Mae. She wrestled/made appearances for pretty much 75 years. Flair would have to do another 20 years to match that, do you think he'll live to be 84!?

When was the last time a woman remained relevant for a decade let alone 7?

Stephanie is probably the safest bet for obvious reasons.

Afterlife 01-25-2014 08:29 AM

Stephanie is relevant? BAM.

Mr. Nerfect 01-25-2014 08:56 AM

I wouldn't compare anyone to Mae Young, but when you want to talk about a lasting impact on the business, I really do think that AJ Lee, Paige and Emma could all have long careers in the WWE, providing they keep their nose clean. Paige and Emma are not only two of the most talented girls on the WWE roster (perhaps the most talented two), but they are also babies. Emma is twelve years younger than Layla, for example, while Paige is fifteen years younger. That's a long time to make a splash once they connect with the WWE audience on the main roster.

As far as AJ Lee goes, I feel that she is one of the most important female characters the WWE has ever had, and she's only going to get more important if the Divas Division continues to be highlighted and they want to expand their female viewership. She's already achieved so much with the WWE and still has years left to achieve more. It's very likely she will compete at WrestleMania XXX this year, and it's very likely she will get a very good reaction and be able to ride a wave of momentum to an even better year than she had last year.

XL 01-25-2014 12:38 PM

Being so young now just means they'll be younger when they finish up with WWE - whether that's because they've expired their "shelf life" or get bored with the way they get booked.

What's the average life-span of a Diva? 6 years?

Anybody Thrilla 01-25-2014 05:36 PM

I think the closest thing to Mae was Trish Stratus, but she's all but forgotten now anyway. Currently, I guess AJ Lee, but that still feels like a serious stretch.

loopydate 01-25-2014 09:43 PM

Stephanie most likely.

I'd add Natalya to the discussion. She's not going to go down as an all-time great, because they book her pretty shittily, but she's got the family name and she seems to be well-liked, so I can see her showing up from time to time for a very long time to come, even if she'll never be an important part of the show.

Mr. Nerfect 01-25-2014 10:03 PM

I can see Nattie having a long WWE career.

The Rogerer 01-26-2014 12:05 PM

I tried to work out where they would have gotten the 62% in the last decade from, and the closest I got was 5/8 = 62.5%

XL 01-26-2014 01:47 PM

How did you get that? Let's see your working out, man!

The Rogerer 01-27-2014 06:19 AM

Five

Divided By

Eight

Equals

Zero Point Six Two Five

Expressed as a percentage

Is

Sixty Two Point Five Percent

I was just saying that was the numbers I came up with in order to get anywhere near 62%. I have no idea if those numbers match up to anything. I thought at first it might be over 9 years, because 'the decade' could include this year which hadn't been won yet, leaving you 9 years. Nothing would break into 9 years to give close to 62%, so I went to 8. God knows.

XL 01-27-2014 05:53 PM

An 8 year decade!?

Poit already explained in the podcast. The promo video was supposed to say "the last TWO decades". I worked it out in the Raw thread that they'd included 21 events in the last 2 decades. That gave you 61.9%.

The Rogerer 01-27-2014 05:57 PM

I don't think a decade is 8 years. I guessed that maybe they were counting 8 occurances in the space of a decade because that was the way to get close to 62% in a flipping decade. I am terribly sorry that I didn't hear poit definitively explain it.

XL 01-27-2014 06:57 PM

Oh, I see.

Question Of The Week:

What would've been a worse ending to the Royal Rumble?

---------------------------------

Here's the video of my dream, that was mentioned on the cast:

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/AdLU8wq0UIU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

FourFifty 01-29-2014 10:48 AM

If Cena would have made a comeback at number 30 and won it...
On second thought, that would be awesome. The fans would have KILLED him.

10!
9!
8!
7!
6!
5!

The lights in the arena go out. A cryptic message appears on the screen. Who is this mysterious man entering at #30? Suddenly, a name begins to form...

S
T
I
N
G

The crowd erupts! Their joy is short-lived when - instead of the Gothic metal people have come to associate with the WCW icon - "Fragile" begins to play.

"Maggal! Sting is in the WWE! Multi-platinum Grammy Award winner Sting has arrived!"

The Rogerer 01-29-2014 04:49 PM

Simple and realistic - event happened as it did, but then as Batista stands in the ring Randy Orton walks down and they have a ten minute standoff and sign point-off while Cole and JBL explode about how awesome Wrestlemania is going to be. Just to stitch up the wound while the axehead is still buried in there.

Nowhere Man 01-29-2014 05:59 PM

I was going to say that I think every time there's a bad PPV the show should open with me killing myself to the sad piano music to The Incredible Hulk, but then that would be pretty much every PPV week.

loopydate 01-29-2014 07:28 PM

You could kill yourself in a different way each time. It could be something to look forward to. "What's Cayse going to do to himself this time?" You'd be like the Kenny of TLP.

NoJabbaNoBogRoll 01-29-2014 07:35 PM

"Oh, come on! Mr. Whereman, that's not wise!"

Hornswoggle eliminating Khali to win the Rumble

Emperor Smeat 01-30-2014 02:34 PM

 Jabba's story

Worse ending for Mania:
Only Batista is left and #30 turns out to be Bryan who ends up tying Santino's record for quickest elimination. Authority joins Batista in the celebrations with Triple H saying this was "best for business" and everyone in the ring openly mocks the crowd with the YES! stuff to end the Rumble.

Batista entering at #29 and eliminating everybody in the ring within the 90 second interval followed by Daniel Bryan entering at #30 only to be eliminated as soon as he enters the ring and breaking Santino's record for shortest time in the Rumble match. The shitty ending would then be made up for by the ensuing riot.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-31-2014 04:46 AM

A: Cena winning it.

Mr. Nerfect 02-02-2014 07:08 AM

Randy Orton or John Cena winning the Rumble from the #30 slot, with the commentators stressing to us that the rivalry between the two biggest stars in WWE history is far from over.

Oh fuck off, Bad News Barrett is tremendous

Innovator 02-04-2014 07:33 AM

Entrant 28 - Batista, YES chants pick up

Entrant 29 - Big E, crowd is frothing at the mouth for their hero DANIEL BRYAN to come out and enter the Rumble

Entrant 30 - DANIEL BRYAN! Crowd is literally blowing the roof off of the arena

Daniel eliminates a bunch of people

Stephanie and Triple H come out and shut down the show citing structural damage to the arena

Crowd leaves angry and the roof crumbles around the ring as Triple H plays a fiddle

Nark Order 02-04-2014 11:33 AM

Bad News Barrett started off so awfully. It is getting better but it is a waste of talent still.

The Rogerer 02-04-2014 11:59 AM

Question Of The Week:

We've heard a lot about the face of the WWE, but who would you pick as the face of TNA?

Poit 02-04-2014 09:19 PM

Thirty-seven podcasts in a row. :y:

owenbrown 02-04-2014 09:21 PM

NoJabbaNoBogRoll 02-04-2014 09:21 PM

No days off, baby!

Anybody Thrilla 02-04-2014 11:48 PM

AJ Styles definitely WAS the face of TNA, but I guess that's over now. I'd say Kurt Angle is the closest thing to it right now. They should probably make it Austin Aries soon, though.

NoJabbaNoBogRoll 02-04-2014 11:55 PM

Wow, this question is... wow....
I had a noid post about why it shouldn't be certain people, but the question is who should it be, not why does everyone else kinda suck.

Samoa Joe. He has been constantly with the company, primarily as a face, in the singles division. He really evolved there, unlike (INSERT YOUR FAVORITE FORMER WWE WRESTLER HERE) when they jumped to TNA.

Anybody Thrilla 02-05-2014 02:08 AM

Did you guys completely skip over the Wyatt Family match on Smackdown? It was the main event.

Anybody Thrilla 02-05-2014 02:13 AM

Oh wow, that was on Raw, wasn't it? I've been paying zero attention, turns out. Carry on. :y:

Anybody Thrilla 02-05-2014 02:49 AM

Wait, hold up...pretty sure The Wyatts main evented Smakdown. Did I just totally miss the talk about that or what?

Bad News Gertner 02-05-2014 04:59 AM

Magnus seems to be a good pick. Good looking, big, charismatic, good in the ring.

Afterlife 02-05-2014 07:04 AM

Last year, I missed a podcast due to illness, and did my take on the entire week. It's 40-minute deal, because of the range of content, and it's not as littered with video clips.

Heisenberg 02-05-2014 10:34 AM

That has got to be one of my favorite opening intro songs ever.

Heisenberg 02-05-2014 10:41 AM

You didn't lose me @ Chikara, I'd like to watch my first show whereever it is available at.

Heisenberg 02-05-2014 10:59 AM

We've heard a lot about the face of the WWE, but who would you pick as the face of TNA?

Pfft, Shark Boy

Actually, I'd like to see Christopher Daniels get a run at the top for awhile. He is entertaining and great in the ring, I guess his size is his holdback, which is not a good excuse these days with Punk and Bryan being in the fold.

I agree, actually. I really think they're on the right track with what they've got. He's a solid mic man as well.

Anybody Thrilla 02-05-2014 12:27 PM

Are you asking who IS the face of TNA? Or who SHOULD be the face of TNA? I think I covered both in my original post, but just wondering.

Also, Magnus is growing on me considerably.

Bad News Gertner 02-05-2014 12:51 PM

Narc and AT agreed with my post. I'm putting it in my sig.

Anybody Thrilla 02-05-2014 01:13 PM

Nark Order 02-05-2014 01:54 PM

When you're right you're right.

James Steele 02-06-2014 11:44 PM

The face of TNA should be Jeff Hardy because he is exactly like TNA. More often than not he is good and even occasionally great, but he is very liable to completely fuck shit up once in awhile. He is the lovable underdog who you always seem to can't stay mad at no matter how many times he takes a giant sloppy diarrhea shit all over your carpet. Jeff, please come back home.

theexample 02-07-2014 09:58 AM

Kurt Angle. By going there, he made the company seem legit.

Emperor Smeat 02-07-2014 12:19 PM

Angle. Pretty much their biggest star remaining and has done a lot for the company.

Think Magnus and EC3 have the best shot at being the future "faces" for TNA.

loopydate 02-07-2014 08:05 PM
