<font color=goldenrod>In some unfortunate (although certainly not major) news, the Match Flow feature for WWE Universe only works if you use the card the game generates. If you want to edit any match, you have to play the match right then and there as was the case last year. Also reading that if you do that, it'll show the show-opening pyro before each match. I can see this whole thing being fixed for next year. On the plus side, it sounds like the game does a nice job of logically booking to follow storylines - so sticking with the card given to you might actually happen regularly.

Like last year, no titles can be vacated (gotta put them on people not on the Raw or SD rosters if you don't want to see the belts) and the game will still insert legends/non-Raw or SD people into storylines at times.

One last thing - the Royal Rumble match at the PPV in Universe is stuck at 30 entrants. You can edit who is in, but not the number of participants. As somebody who does a lot of CPU simming, Rumble included, I'm happy about that. There's a video on YouTube of a 40 man Rumble and it took nearly an hour to complete.</font> :o

Damnit, I knew it was too good to be true. Far too many improvements for there not to have been some steps back. Just wouldn't be a THQ game otherwise.

<font color=goldenrod>Going back to my previous post on Universe issues - the title belt and legend things I already anticipated, but the Match Flow thing is kinda upsetting. I find it hard to believe it never occurred to them that most people adjust the cards. Almost seems like it's the annual feature that they purposely don't go all-out with on the first go around so that they'd have an easy fix for WWE13. It also seems like the Raw and SD tag titles, for whatever reason, cannot be placed on anybody outside of Universe. So the workaround you have to do is make sure you give those belts to your Unified tag champs, as they will then only enter with the Unified tag belts. Once I download some CAWs I might just bring back the separate tag belts because my tag division was booming last year with 5 or more teams to a show.

Mind, a week before release is the same time last year when we found out that we couldn't make any alterations to tag matches or MITB - so I'll take these minor annoyances over something major like that any day of the week.</font>

I don't understand how match flow would work with creating your own matches anyway. You'd have to come out of the screen to go into character select to pick the match anyway, so it wouldn't make that much issue I don't think.

They could have made it so you can edit the matches before you actually start the show.

Which I find hard to believe they didn't do.

If a guy would come out with every belt they held in their entrance, I think you'd almost have to create or d/l the Ultimo Dragon to come out with all of those belts. :lol:

I realised that this is probably the only game, where Eddie is a legend, Chavo is a superstar, and Vickie is DLC. All in the game together. It'd be pretty cool to make a Los Guerreros stable.

I honestly don't remember the last time I wanted a game this much. I'm not overly into COD or anything that much. SvR is my yearly game. And this one just seems to raise the bar so much more than any previous instalment.

Was going to get Elder Scrolls V for PS3 but now i am getting this. All this talk about faulty game saves and lag has turned me away from it for the time being.

For the most part I agree about the review, but the one part that did stick out to me was where they talked about how much improvement was in the matches themselves. How you can actually tell some semblance of a story and have to wear your opponent down in order to get to your big moves now. That alone is the most exciting part of this to me. I mean Universe is nice, all the other bells and whistles are great but that is the one part that means the most to me.

Just put my order in. Won't be able to d/l Rock though as my net connection/phoneline is screwed up right now.

It's nice too see that it received such a great rating but IGN has given high ratings like that to very average WWE games like the RAW series on XBox they received a 9.1 each so with that said I'm really interested to see how the other major gaming sites rate it to me No Mercy is still the best of it's time.

This happened when I got 2011. Went into Gamestop and came out with the DLC code for I think Austin. Didn't pre-order. It was in the case.

Always be cautious with the Wii version. I made the mistake of buying it one year. Most of the time it is missing a bunch of features. No highlight reel mode, no superstar threads, obviously no downloadable content, no making your own patterns, etc. They never reveal too many details about what is in and what isn't. As of right now, some people say the predator technology is in and others don't.

Well atm i've got no other option anyway. Might save up for ps3 or 360 next year. Was suspicious of the low pricing though must admit.

Had a look at the pics, from what i just saw about the predator technology and seeing those, i think it might be in, can't imagine them leaving that out. On amazon it says its in anyway. Dunno how reliable that is though.

On a better note, the graphics seem better this year. Probably because it is not a PS2 port.

They are really echoey, just like they would be in an arena yeah. Sounds more like they've just added the echo more than an arena mix though.

The custom entrance videos are pretty awesome. Just have to pick a theme, a few colours, 2 phrases and a logo and it will encode you a full video.

Takes about 10 mins to save it though and no preview beforehand which is a bit of a shame, but the results are pretty good.

Not seen where I can sort out the mini-tron though.

AI seems dumb as a plank in a tag match. Wouldn't stop the opponent and the other team kept holding the ropes when they needed to make a tag instead of tagging.

Also, in match flow mode, you can only control one partner, not both.

Mini-trons are just assigned based on your custom entrance movie, but don't show up in create-an-entrance.

Instead of "Main Event" on this Raw card though, it's labelled as "Today's Remarkable Match".

RTWM is "booked" so to speak, which really helps handicap and multi-man matches. If you beat someone down enough, they usually get a Y above their head to finish the match and trigger a cut-scene rather than having to get a pin and seeing people break them all up. Works well.

Way too many backstage brawls though and they're really dull. You still only have generic grapple moves and now even less environmental grapples...

Hope there's many flaws that don't get fixed(not sure if xbox/ps3 games get updated?) till i can afford the proper version. :p

The villain story is great, outsider is average but has it's moments, now playing the hero story.

The volume is fine on an un-messed with CD rip now, but because all the other themes sound echoey so they're like in an arena, they still stick out.

Not actually sure if it was the 360 freezing, or the fact that Chavo was about to win the WCW title live on Nitro in Universe mode and it freaked out.

Now I've switched my pre-order to Best Buy since it said on my order on Amazon said it wouldn't till at least December 1st which I heard was due to low supply plus it was $5 cheaper so either way I win.

It kind of does, it just hides it better, like on the Vs. screen or during a show, a pre-rendered video of the crowd rather than an actual loading screen. It kind of works, despite only being a placebo.

Watching a Punk vs. Del Rio match on YouTube. So glad the obnoxious boos are gone. Seemed like it was the only thing you could hear from the crowd last year if you had a heel in the match.

His Impact model looks fantastic then again that game had a very limited roster by comparison and I've heard the game itself was rather awful.

I recently heard that Impact was going to be better, but they cut the budget half way through development so they had to rush the final product out. But yeah, I've heard it's pretty terrible, despite being graphically impressive.

Best IGN.com review score since SvR '06, which surprisingly is more highly rated than WWE SmackDown!: Here Comes The Pain. SvR '06 has the highest score in the series to date from them, recieving a 9.2/10. HCTP was a close second at 9.1/10.
