Who are you talking to, packt up?

Oh, my pick is Norwich will stay up at the end of next season. Remember where you were when Wee Gooner made that pick, folks :o

Wengerland 04-22-2004 10:44 AM

I don't think Nowwich will get too much money anyway, but i reckon they'll feel players like Huckerby are good enough when,in reality, they aren't.:-\ Unless they have improved.

Muzzy Izzet will probably be going to Birmingham at the end of the season, though Villa and Charlton are also keen, but the his agent said he'll be going nontheless.:'(

Mr. Monday Morning 04-22-2004 11:08 AM

Taylor - Upson - Savage - Izzet - Dunn - Forssell

is a pretty damn good spine of a team, if they can keep Forssell that is

Dazz 04-22-2004 11:44 AM

REALLY hope they don't keep Forssell.

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">to be fair, I think its a bit early to be calling who is going to be going down and staying up next season when we dont even know who's going up with Norwich yet :D And we should probably give them a chance to buy some players in the summer before we write them off, for all we know Delia could invest her entire fortune in them and buy them a load of world class players.

However, I think its more likely they'll stick with Mattias Svensson and Huckerby with a few free transfers and hopefully it works for em. :o</font>

Blues 'stall over Lampard'

Now i can see why Abramovich isn't thought of too highly,i mean giving Lampard a new contract is a no-brainer.

Dazz 04-23-2004 12:25 PM

No, Abramovich isn't thought of too highly because he has been trying all season to replace Ranieri, and fu</>ck up our team, this is just the latest case of it, although I don't believe reports.

Wengerland 04-23-2004 12:32 PM

I was just saying that he wouldn't be thought of highly because of decisions such as that one.

The Comet Kid 04-23-2004 02:23 PM

Rivaldo's agent says he thinks Rivaldo will be a Bolton player in the next 48 hours. He'll also be availible to play the last few games of the season too

He is saying he already made up his mind whether to join or not before he came to England. Don't see why he would bother coming if he didn't want to sign. It's a far bigger shop window than the Brazilian league. Shame everyone still remembers him for being a diving little tosser.

Wengerland 04-23-2004 04:20 PM

Personally i remember him for being the man at Barcelona, seeing as they're one of my fave clubs.

That diving statement could be used about so many players now i've decided to just go on footballing merit/skills.

Dazz 04-23-2004 08:32 PM

I remember him for scoring a free kick at the Nou Camp with 7 minutes to go in the 99/00 season, had he not have scored, Chelsea would have gone through to the semi finals and played Valencia. Instead the game went to extra time and they beat us 5-1 :$, the 24 hour coach journey home would have been much better had we won.

:foc: Rivaldo

If he comes to England and plays for Bolton, there's a good chance he'll never play for Brazil again, where as he probably would if he stayed in Brazil.

There is a chance he'll never play for Brazil again anyway. Juninho plays for Boro and gets a game for them. Gilberto, Edu and Kleberson all still get call ups and they play here. The Brazilian squad has many many players in their squad over the years from clubs a lot smaller than Bolton.

Wengerland 04-24-2004 12:01 PM

We're down

Dazz 04-24-2004 12:27 PM

Gary Neville gave away a bad penalty. Theres a suprise, the gu can't defend for shit, he seems to be good attacking, but he really is a shit defender, lost the game against Portsmouth, and now could (probably wont coz I'm sure Liverpool don't know how to keep a lead) cost them again.

Dazz 04-24-2004 12:49 PM

BIG RUCK AT <S>FILBERT STREET</S> THE WALKERS STADIUM. Been a big ruck because Leicester were awarded a penalty. This looks hot, everyone came on the pitch, even Keegan, stewards came on too. Wanchope booked, two others have been booked too, D'Urso can't control players for shit. LOL this sounds funny. MUST watch the Premiership tonight

Indeed it did give us a hand. Nice one Pool.

You defended well agaionst us at the Bridge at the start of January, and I used to think your defence was really good, but you have always seemed like your defence is a mess and unrelaible. Kinda like United's if you ask me.

Still, I think we will lose to the Geordies, it means we can afford to lose, just as long as we go to Old Trafford and win. :|

Wengerland 04-24-2004 01:07 PM

We're gonna be the new Derby now,i.e go down and do crap.

Cactus Sid 04-24-2004 01:10 PM

Liverpool tend to play well against the top teams, almost like they're up for it. Chelsea home and away we played well, Arsenal home and away we played well, Man U at home we were crap, but away, we won, so thats good. We played well up at Newcastle, and I think we'll beat them on the last day of the season. I guess the best teams bring out the best in us.

Chelsea for 2nd now, Liverpool for 4th, thats what I've got.

We have to play Newcastle and Man United away. Leeds at home on the last day, I don't fancy us for 2nd. Leeds will be fighting for survival, and as they showed against the Arse last season, they can do the good teams even away.

Cactus Sid 04-24-2004 01:14 PM

I think you can get a point out of Newcastle and United, and you'll beat Leeds.

toxic rooster 04-24-2004 01:15 PM

True, but you're forgetting the fact that my grandmother's lawn bowls team could have beaten Arsenal's defence in that game :(

Oh, was I the only one that thought Dickov's penalty was going to be saved the second the ref pointed to the spot?

Dazz 04-24-2004 01:16 PM

I think we are capable of beating Newcastle, Man United and Leeds, I just don't think we will.

We didn't see it over here. But I thought he would score, but its one of those where theres shitloads of pressure and you have to really hold your nerves. Good save apparently.

toxic rooster 04-24-2004 01:18 PM

I dunno what it was, I just...knew that James would save it.

Granted I had the same feeling when Murphy took his penalty for liverpool :-\

Wengerland 04-24-2004 01:34 PM

Why the hell did it take the ref 5 minutes to get round to the penalty being taken from when the decision was made? That had to be playing on Dickov's mind, but yeah i thought he'd score.

Yeah thats what I meant by the pressure on Dickov, emotions were running high, the fans were in full force, Dickov HAD to score if you want to stay up, especially with City in the position they are in.

What a choke artist

toxic rooster 04-24-2004 02:02 PM

West Brom promoted again :o

But how many chances did Anelka have to bury Leicester (and Leeds probably too) today?

Wengerland 04-24-2004 02:04 PM

Yep.The only 3 players who are good enough for the premiership are leaving us at the end of the season.

That being Bent,Ferdinand and Izzet btw.Walker probably is too i guess.

toxic rooster 04-24-2004 02:11 PM

Yeah couldn't they have picked a better name than Izzet, it's very confusing

Because the commenator will be all like "Scowcroft, Izzet"

And I'll be going "IS IT WHAT"

and he'll be all like "Izzet"

and I'll be all like "IS IT WHAT"

Wengerland 04-24-2004 02:19 PM

There's been a few occasions when they just say "IZZET"

*then he shoots*

"IT IS!!!!!!!!!11"

Anyway, looks like we'll have to get something from Arsenal and thats just hoping Man City lose all their games, though i reckon we'll lose all our remaining matches and finish bottom.

I know this isn't Premiership talk, but it's still football talk.

This afternoon I just saw extended highlights of the Athens derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos which ended up being 2-2. F</>ucking hell, I have NEVER seen so many flares being let off at the one time (when Panathinaikos went 1-0 up). Behind that goal about 10 were ripped before the penalty taker took his shot, so there was a fair bit of smoke when the penalty was taking place, and when he scored it, about 40 more were ripped and chucked everywhere. That entire goalie area was covered with flares and most of the ground was covered in smoke. The game had to be stopped for a few minutes so the cops could get all the flares off the pitch

Still I was sitting there going HOLY SH</>IT  :|

Hopefully it's like that for the Olympics. :D

Oh and just quietly, go Leeds for tonight.

I know, he was, even at the start of this season when there was talk of us signing him I didn't like him. I still think that he is overrated. I always stuck up for his work rate, crosses, free kicks, but that was it. He has been great at Madrid though, and after seeing Gronkjaer as a winger for years, anyone who can stick the ball onto an attackers head now has my vote.

And Ronaldo apparently (prolly misquoted but still) said that he would follow Beckham to Chelsea.
