Smackdown Countdown: Boogeyman
http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...5102138793.jpg
Video 1 - Entrance LOL this entrance is awesome. He comes out crawling on his belly like he does and then smashes the clock and BOOM goes the pyro and does his freaky dance. He jerks his way down to the ring and climbs in. He then jiggles about abit. This is going to look amazing on the 360. Video 2 - Fighting time It's Boog vs Cade, who gets taken down with a clothesline. He gets up and Boog sends him back down with an arm drag. Boog dances around and then gets countered by Cade, who takes him down with a snapmare. LOL Boog kicks Cade square in the nutts and then they lock up. Video 3 - Fighting time II Boog smashes Cade about with his fists and Boog his his Boogeyslam, which is like a powerslam, but he drives them chest/face first. He goes into a pin and gets 2. End. http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...5100220696.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...5100223180.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...5100222602.jpg |

Smackdown Countdown: William Regal
http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...5104450316.jpg
Video 1 - Entrance lol nice music. Regal comes out and warms up whilst making his way down to the ring. He jogs all the way down to the ring, climbs up the steps and whips his feet before entering. He then continues to do his warm up jig. Seriously, fucking awful music. Video 2 - Fighting time Regal knocks down Finlay with a shoulder block. He stamps on his knee a number of times before Finlay takes Regal down with an arm drag. Regal rakes the eyes as he gets back to his feet and then hits a low blow. Regal grapples Finlay but gets countered into an ARM BAR. Video 3 - Fighting time II Regal locks in a painfull submission which name I have totally forgotten at this time. Regal uses a Butterfly Suplex to take Finlay down and gets a two count. End. http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...5104307571.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...5104308149.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...5104306977.jpg |

lol well I did start the thread, so technically you are correct.

the 360 boogeyman looks great...
i'm probably going to play as super crazy or matt hardy in season first, just to see any boogeyman events |
I'm playing as HBK in season first, its like a tradition.
|
I'm probably going to use my Creation first then either RVD, Kane, or The Undertaker
|
I'll go with who ever I'm marking out for at the time.

I think this countdown has convinced me not to purchase this game.

I don't know whether to carry on my 'APW' PS2 CAW's (which I'm now merging with the GCN 'ICW' CAW's) onto the online arena or make all new guys for XBLive. There's some CAW's I've been using for years; since SmackDown! 2.
|
I'm playing as Carlito first.
|
I, of course, am using Vito first.
Anyways, people on IGN have noticed that the Countdown has been following a trend so far. Refer to that columned roster list on IGN: Day 1 - Big Show (column 1) and Kane (2) Day 2 - Vito (3) Day 3 - Chavo (1) Day 4 - Melina (2) Day 5 - Regal (3) and Boogeyman (1) That being said, I'm gonna take a stab and say that Lance Cade (2) and Trish Stratus (3) will be tomorrow's Countdown superstars |

Rey Mysterio vs Triple H credit - Mike Regan credit to is goes to RAWFShowtime on gamingring Over the weekend, Game Stop and EB Games dropped a bombshell on their website. When out of no where WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 has a special edition exclusively to the X-Box 360. Was it true? Or a simple error on EB and Gamestop's end. I am here to tell you that the special edition is very real and I have the news of the contents on what it includes... Keep in mind that the special edition version is running at the same price as the regular edition so it's probably going to be a very limited edition run. Here is the content that the 360 special edition includes... - The game itself - An exclusive embossed metal packaging - A bonus disc from "WWE: The History of the Championship" DVD box set - A limited edition of "The Ultimate WWE Trivia Book" Nothing over whelming but still getting it for the same price as the regular edition, hardcore SVR fans are sure to pick this up come November 14th. UPDATE: Just less than twenty four hours later after this news broke, both EB Games and Game Stop's websites have updated listing the special edition price at $69.99 instead of $59.99. And for the lack of extra in-game content that this edition includes...It could very well turn off a majority of gamers who planned to get it at the original price just days ago. |
Yeah I'll just get the game don't need that other bullshit.

I might still get the special edition but I used up a lot of money, about 300+ CDN on WWE clothes, Hogan's F Hulkamania, B Will Live Forever, Piper's Hot Rod, Eddie's I'm Your Papi, The Rock's Just Bring It, Cena's F You Want Some Come Get Some, B You Want Some, Come Get Some Chain-Gang Soldier, and going to get Cena's 5 questions, Rock's F Lay The Smackdown, B On Your Candy Ass, Stone Colds What? and the New DX
|
I, of course, will be using my CAW, "The Professional" Rich Wilson, in season mode first. Or, if I'm too lazy to create him right away and just can't wait, I'll probably use Boogeyman or Finlay.

Smackdown Countdown: Trevor Murdoch
http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...8060920057.jpg
Video 1 - Entrance YEEEEEHAAAAAAW! Redneck Murdoch comes out and poses on the ramp way, throwing up the cow/devil horns, which ever you think it is. Trevor walks down to the ring and climbs the turnbuckle from the outside and throws up the horns again. Video 2 - Fighting time Murhdoch vs Snitsky, Snitsky's got his beard platted, awwww. POOOOOOOUNNNNNNNCCCCCEEEEEEEE by Murdoch, he then rolls up Snitsky for a two count, the ref was slow. Murdoch takes down Snitsky and drops an elbow right on his face. Trevor taunts then smacks Snitsky in the bollocks, right infront of the ref, but no DQ. Video 3 - Fighting time II Snitsky has Murdoch in a neck vice and the ref forces him to break the hold due to Trevor getting to the ropes. Murdoch counters on the way up with a nice smack in the balls, again. He then rakes the eyes and delivers a DDT and gets a 2 7/8 count, according to King. http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...8060841434.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...8060842605.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...8060843215.jpg |

Video 1 - Entrance The world's largest love machine comes out and looks like a big piece of shit in his brown attire. He struts his way down to the ring and does a little dance on the apron. He climbs in the ring and struts about some more. Video 2 - Fighting time Viscera vs Cade, and we are already underway. Viscera counts with a leg trip and follows up with a big fat leg drop. Viscera gives Cade the Ally-Oop (that Big Show briefly had as a finisher) and then locks in a boston crab. Cade then counters Viscera and gives him a russian leg sweep. Video 3 - Fighting time II OH MY GOD, MY EYES! Viscera executes the Viscagra, god it looks disgusting. After fucking Cade in the ass he goes for the cover and gets the three. He celebrates by swinging his hips and struting around the place. http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...8053538973.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...8053540863.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...8053539723.jpg |

i have a few questions about the CREATE MODES.
1. how many spaces for created wrestlers are there? 2. can you copy a default wrestler into a CAW slot, and then edit from there( like on N64 No Mercy) ? 3. has the CAW mode changed otherwise? i found the CAW mode on the previous two games to be extremely tedious and difficult. 4. how much original theme music is there (i.e. music that is not assigned to default wrestlers, and how does it compare to the crappy rap and rock tunes of the previous game? how do the hair style, facial hair, and ring attire options compare with the previous game (not good)? |
1 - Not sure
2 - Dont know 3 - Your guess is as good as mine 4 - No idea |

Could THQ afford to add a few extra polygons for Trevor Murdock's side burns? It's stupid little things like this that I notice all the time. I mean, they can do that now. |
The 360 version comes with 23% more sideburns than the PS2 and PSP games combined.

You will probably never, ever, ever be able to edit the included wrestlers. Not unless they revert back to the CAW system, like in No Mercy. Now, all wrestlers are custom-designed and original, and therefore do not use the CAW system.
Hopefully, however, in the near future, you will be able to edit certain features of the included wrestlers, like attire colors, and maybe even add on certain things. Now...is it me, or does Trevor Murdoch look a little...skinny? |
Smackdown Countdown: Super Crazy

Video 1 - Entrance Woooo another out of date wrestler from the roster! Good thing Super Crazy rules. Anyway, Crazy comes out on a lawn mower and heads down to the ring. He gets off the mower, slides in the ring and does his flip thing. He then taunts and poses for the crowd. Video 2 - Fighting time Crazy vs Hardy, Crazy takes him down and applies an arm lock. After an elbow he taunts and hits a standing moonsault. He then goes out the ring and his a torpedo thing, cant remember the name, but Eddie used to do it. Video 3 - Fighting time II Crazy takes Hardy down with a hurricanrana and after a huge punch to the head, Crazy goes up top and hits a Moonsault, Kurt Angle_style. Smackdown Countdown: Lance Cade
http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...0033422764.jpg
Video 1 - Entrance God this game is so out of date, the roster changes haven't been done, Boogeyman is still in the game AND LANCE CADES HAIR IS NOT BLACK    He comes out and taunts the crowd and makes his way down to the ring. He gets in and taunts the crowd by throwing up the devil/cow horns WHOOP WHOOP. Video 2 - Fighting time Cade vs Daivari, Cade takes Daivari down with a arm drag then drops the leg across it. He the drops Daivari with a shoulder block and then locks in a SUBMISSION according to JR. Once he's released the hold and both men are back on their feet, Cade takes Daivari down with an ARM BAR DDT. He then locks in an ankle and leg lock submission. Video 3 - Fighting time II CLOTHESLINE 9, CLOTHESLINE 9! Looks pretty powerfull, although it is done on Daivari. Cade then covers him and gets the three count. He then celebrates his victory by climbing the ropes and letting the crowd know about it. On the 360 version, he uses his elbow drop to finish off Psicosis, which looks just like Austin's/Bret's second rope elbow. http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...0033135347.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...0033134175.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...0033133066.jpg |

"How to become a better GM" last year's WWE game introduced the General Manger Mode, and it makes its return in 2006 with more than a few grades. the entire process has been streamlined allowing you to check a superstar's stats so you can more easily book high quality matches. this process is made even easier with the addition of the power 25 which like the wwe real power 25 tells you who the top 25 are (based on which titles they currently hold their amount of wins, and the quality of the opposition) in your personal simulated version of the wwe. plus you can hire writers for your shows -the cheaper the writer the worse the stories - which allows you to choose from various plotlines to give you a more interesting matches and rivalries. and you can determine how long rivalries last. also both velocity and heat show have been added. neither affects the rating of your show, but they do allow you to built up the popularity level of your less famous superstar so they can be featured on the main shows RAW of Smackdown. Sounds like I might actually play GM Mode for more than an hour this time. |
Quote:
Heh, of course you do. What am I saying? ;) Oh, and am I the only one who's actually going to create a female wrestler and go after the women's belt? :shifty: |

I bet I'm also the only one who's going to rip the game, add in my own music for CAWs (can't afford XBox 360) and re-burn and play it? :(

I too think that I'll use GM mode alot more often this time, great find Disturbed

Yeah GM Mode sounds cool so far. Hopefully you can add backstage shenanegans and stuff.

Hire writers? Holy shit. Did Vince know about this feature? I've been waiting YEARS for a wrestling game to add that sort've thing to a season mode but always thought "no promotion in their right mind would allow that in a game." Go figure.
|
Yeah, but can you imagine some of the storylines they'll come up with.
|
When I play GM mode I am going to hire cheap writers jus tto see what kind of storylines can be produced.
|
Somehow I don't think we'll actually get to see the angles play out. Just a bummer thought.

Smackdown Countdown: Psicosis
http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/ar...1105339566.jpg
Video 1 - Entrance Psicosis comes out on a little lawn mower and pretty much does the same as Super Crazy. He rides down to the ring and taunts along the way. He gets in the ring and climbs different turnbuckles to taunt and pose for the crowd. Video 2 - Fighting time Psicosis vs Kid Kash. Psi takes down Kash with a spinning heal kick and follows up with a couple of jumping knee's. He then performs a cruicifix pin but is too close to the ropes for a count. Kash puts Psi in a headlock, but when he releases it he gets another spinning heal kick for his troubles. A standing moonsault, jumping senton and a missed tope rope elbow all follow. They seem to have reannimated the counter to ariel moves, Kash rolled out the way whilst Psi crashed to the mat and rolled around in pain. Video 3 - Fightin time II Psi chops away on Kash and Kash returns fire with the crowd WOOOOing along the way. Psi rolls up Kash in a small package but only gets a two. Psi hits an enziguri and then goes up top for his leg drop. He lands square on Kash's head, but only gets a two. Hah, too bad they're still the Mexi-Cools in this game. Then again, it'll be nice to have immortalized in a game who they were at their most popular point.
|
I was hoping they'd finally incorporate the secondary TitanTron. Oh well, maybe next game.
|
Seocndary titantron? You mean the secondary video, for example, with Mick Foley it'd be the barbed wire with his name flashing? In that case, there is also a tertiary video (the name only that flashes on either side of the RAW entrance). I, too, have always thought THQ would utilize that, AT LEAST for the XBOX 360. I mean, why not? 360 has the processing power AND the space for three videos per wrestler? And it woudln't be too much work.
I just hate seeing the orange RAW graphics no matter who was coming out, on either side of the entrance area. |
Yeah, secondary video, whatever. I think it's really annoying to see the SmackDown floating around in the background during the Undertaker's or any other superstar with a dark entrance, like most of my CAWs. Raw never bothered me much, probably because it's not white.
Why they didn't include this on at least the 360 is beyond me. |

TGS 06: SmackDown! vs. Raw 2007 Updated Hands-On We get our hands on this Xbox 360 grappler from the TGS floor. By Brian Ekberg, GameSpot Posted Sep 22, 2006 8:49 pm PT TOKYO--SmackDown! vs. Raw 2007 is heading to a number of different platforms later this year, and we got a chance to play an updated demo build of the game today at the Tokyo Game Show. The game was being shown at the Microsoft booth and featured two selectable WWE superstars: Triple H and Kane. While many of the features we have discussed in earlier previews of the game--such as the interactive grapple system--were well intact in the TGS build of the game, we did notice a few cool touches that we hadn't seen before. First of all, it looks like the Yuke's folks have been working even more on the faces of the WWE wrestlers themselves, as they look even more lifelike and possess a greater range of facial features than ever before. Wrestling as Kane, for example, we got Triple H down on the mat for a pin, only to have The Game kick out at the last moment. Kane's face told the story: a look of utter despair at missing the pinfall. Similarly, later in the match, when Triple H slammed Kane down on the top rope, crotch-first, Kane's face accurately spoke of the agony he and his "little Kanes" were feeling at that moment. Last year's SmackDown! vs. Raw game featured lots of different camera angles during key parts of a match, and there are even more of those brief cuts in SmackDown! 07. During certain throws or big finishers, the camera will switch to another perspective to give you a different view of the action. The cuts are more plentiful this time around, but they don't get in the way of the action in the ring. Because only Kane and Triple H were playable in the TGS build, we don't have any more clues about the roster of SmackDown! vs. Raw 2007 except one: The loading screens featuring Shawn Michaels and Triple H featured the neon-green spray paint "Degeneration X" logo, so it's fair to assume that those two will be appearing in the game as DX. Perhaps they will even make it into the storyline of the game's career mode as well, but that's just speculation at this point. We'll have more on the next SmackDown! game in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. |

From IGN.com
TGS 2006: WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 Hands-On Kane and Triple H hit smash each other around on the show floor. by Charles Onyett September 23, 2006 - Wildly popular in the United States, Yuke's WWE SmackDown Vs. Raw doesn't quite have the same impact in Japan. Playing on two monitors in Sega's TGS 2006 booth and one in Microsoft's, crowds weren't exactly clamoring to get their hands on this one. The build on display was looking polished, with detailed character models and smooth animations. Only a single match mode without a manager was available to play. With the two controllers at each display, players could choose between either Kane or Triple H. We tried it out with both characters, and got our face smashed by the A.I. both times. The computer kept busting out choke slams and Pedigrees. Our punch barrages, kicks, and running clotheslines could do little to sway the tide of battle after we got hit with those things. Once while playing with Kane we were fortunate enough to launch Triple H over the ropes, giving us some breathing room. Pressing and holding B regained our stamina, which kept us from the inevitable three count for a little while longer. There were some nice graphical touches included in the build. The crowd was a particular standout. From what we could tell, most of those up close to the ring were performing individualized cheers and movements. Holding up signs with phrases like "the referee is blind" and "I'm with stupid" was silly, but helped add to the atmosphere of the fight. More than the signs, the game gave a really good impression that there were seething throngs of fans outside the rings perimeter that seemed generally interested in what was going on in the ring. Ring intros were another graphical highlight. Triple H walked in to the arena to sets of flickering multicolored lights, carrying his trademark water bottle. The way the skin textures reflected all the different shades was done particularly well, and the facial expressions were surprisingly realistic. We noticed this even more after we got Pedigreed by a computer controlled Triple H. Kane's face afterward showed a mixture of pain and fear, like he just wanted to flee the ring and ditch the fight entirely. Two controllers were hooked up to the console, but nobody else was around to start a two player game. Despite most of the nice visuals, there was still some awkwardness in the characters' animations when transitioning from standing to grapple. Be sure to head over to our object page for tons of additional information on this title. |
