Besides, you stand to make more by resigning with a team, then going into free agency.

Evil Vito 02-18-2010 03:40 PM

Yeah if LeBron comes to NY it'll show he really doesn't care about winning...he'd be coming because he'd instantly be THE guy in NY, probably rivaled only by Jeter.

SammyG 02-18-2010 05:35 PM

AAAAnd it's official. Nate to Boston. Brewer to the Griz.

thecc 02-18-2010 05:37 PM

So glad I get to watch Robinson play now.

I dunno, the whole point of this trade today to get rid of Jeffries was to ensure they can issue two max contracts to free agents this summer. They can be a good team with LeBron, another max free agent (Bosh), Chandler, Gallinari, etc...

The Knicks basically gave up last years 1st round pick, 2012 first round pick and the swapping of 2011 picks to get rid of Jeffries and have the cap space.

Donnie Walsh's main goal was to go big in this free agent class and he's set the team up to do that. These are the Knicks though so chances are they fail miserably.

I do think LeBron will stay with Cleveland though.

Juan 02-18-2010 09:04 PM

Can't believe I'm rooting for the Nuggets right now

alvarado52 02-18-2010 09:11 PM

Im bummed we didnt land Captain Kirk :(

Juan 02-18-2010 10:17 PM

Come on Denver, you motherfuckers!

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-18-2010 11:38 PM

Ray Allen just fucking jammed on Shannon Brown. SIGN THE POSTER BITCH

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-18-2010 11:41 PM

Damn Odom just returned the favor to Perk

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-18-2010 11:45 PM

I think he just crammed on Allen too. Missed it though, was taking a piss :y:

alvarado52 02-18-2010 11:45 PM

Yeah, today is National Posterize A Celtic day.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-18-2010 11:47 PM

I didn't know Shannon Brown played on the Celtics

McLegend 02-18-2010 11:47 PM

KG is a mummy.

alvarado52 02-18-2010 11:47 PM

on a side note, i think Bynum would benefit big time if he added a jump-stop to his usual tricks. Now that i think about it, i dont see anyone use it anymore...not since Shaq during the three-peat anyway.

i dont really qualify a posterize as someone dunking with the guy BEHIND him trying to contest the shot. On the other hand, what Odom did to Ray Ray, thats a poster.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-19-2010 12:17 AM

I didn't realize there was a clear set of rules. Shannon Brown tried to block the shot and ended up fouling him. He got jammed on

Also Lamar Odom is like 7 feet tall, I hope he could dunk on Ray Allen.

Dunking on Perk was much more impressive

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-19-2010 12:19 AM

Ray Allen burying jumpers right now. Hopefully the whole trade talk thing blowing over is gonna get him outta the funk he's been in.

McLegend 02-19-2010 12:34 AM

If I was a Celtic fan I would hate Rasheed.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-19-2010 12:37 AM

If you were a Laker fan would you hate Pau Gasol? I can't stand that guy

To be honest I'm not really on the Rasheed Wallace bandwagon, hasn't done much since he's come to Boston. Maybe if he picks it up to finish out this year I'll change my tune, but right now I'm not really feeling him on the C's.

McLegend 02-19-2010 12:40 AM

I would love Pau Gasol if he were on the Sixers.

Rasheed looks to be washed up.

Juan 02-19-2010 12:45 AM

Someone on the Lakers needs to step up in the 4th, otherwise I don't foresee them picking up the W.

Juan 02-19-2010 12:54 AM

What do you mean? Being dunked ON means a guy is in front of you, thus, you dunk ON him. Get it? If he's behind you, youre not dunking ON the guy, youre just dunking. Allen dunked and got fouled, but by no means was that him dunking on Brown.

alvarado52 02-19-2010 01:00 AM

lol@ Daniels...i remember some Celt fan saying 'we're missing Daniels, when we get him back, we'll be strong'. That would be like the Lakers 'missing' Sasha V.

alvarado52 02-19-2010 01:01 AM

i love when KG throws his bitch fits.

Juan 02-19-2010 01:21 AM

god dammit. i love close games but I don't like the Lakers chances without Kobe to close out the game.

IC Champion 02-19-2010 01:23 AM

Who calls Time out?

alvarado52 02-19-2010 01:24 AM

lol....yknow, im not gonna be mad...Lakers put up a good fight without KB...but seriously, a time out? Who's fucking call was that? Phils?

IC Champion 02-19-2010 01:25 AM

Gasol called timeout on the court.

Juan 02-19-2010 01:26 AM

Yeah it was phill's call. I mean, it would have been fine if the time out was given rigth when Gasol asked for it. Lakers could have had a good 5 seconds on the clock.

I'm pretty mad at Fisher. Instead of going for the game winner he tried to draw a foul with 2 seconds left. WTF FISHER?????????????

Gasol took the timeout because Phil was calling for a timeout

IC Champion 02-19-2010 01:27 AM

Bigger question should be, why did Fisher have the ball? Gasol, Odom, Artest, Bynum would all be better options.

Thats why i said on the court, I didnt know if it came from the sidline or not, i just saw Gasol calling time.

Not only that, but to try and draw a foul with 2 seconds left instead of going for the win is ridiculous.

So since he was jumping at him from behind it makes a difference? His hand was on the backboard and Ray went through his arm and dunked it. They could make a poster out of that, pretty sure that's what makes something qualified as posterized or not.

I don't even know why I am continually posting about this, doesn't even matter.

Celtics squeak out with the win. Outside of Ray their shooting was pretty awful, especially Rondo - I'll take it. Hopefully they can get Nate in for the next game, would have liked to see if he could have sparked some offense during that big run by the Lakers in the 4th. Celtics only scored 11 points in the 4th...ridiculous

Emperor Smeat 02-19-2010 01:39 AM

Yeah not liking how last few weeks Celtics have a really bad 3rd or 4th quarter but today they actually played tough defense in the 4th since Lakers only scored 17 points vs C's 11 points.

ESPN or TNT had the stat of after the Lakers mini-run in early 4th quarter, they didn't make another FG for last 6-7 minutes of the game.

alvarado52 02-19-2010 01:49 AM

Is it me, or has Fisher basically become worthless. I mean, dude doesnt even TRY to defend anymore, he tries to draw fouls. There was a play early on where Ray Allen took a shot, and Fish literally just tucked his arms in...didnt even have a hand up.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-19-2010 01:52 AM

Hopefully nasty Nate can cure some of their offensive foes. Marquis Daniels wasn't even a threat at all off the pine, dude didn't even attempt a shot - nevermind make one.

Lakers are going to be nearly impossible to beat if all the bigs play well. Their size up front with Odom, Bynum and Gasol is ridiculous.

DaveWadding 02-19-2010 02:17 AM

Knicks are getting Amar'e and somebody else. They better hope it's Wade. Might end up like Joe Johnson though.

DaveWadding 02-19-2010 02:18 AM

I mean, I love JJ, but Wade is a beast.

SammyG 02-19-2010 03:40 AM

FUCK DEREK FISHER.

Juan 02-19-2010 03:42 AM

The only thing that makes me mad about this loss is that last possession by Fish. It was clear as day that he was going for contact instead of the win. Terrible.

SammyG 02-19-2010 03:47 AM

That's the only thing? His defense on Ray the whole game wasn't pathetic? His 1-9 shooting wasn't pathetic? Phil needs to get over his fucking mancrush for the dude, and hand over the reins to Shannon Brown, or even Jordan Farmar. Seriously now, this was embarassing to watch tonight. Fuck Derek Fisher. Thanks for the memories and what not, but dude's gotta go.

Juan 02-19-2010 03:49 AM

I would have been less upset about this loss had it been a clean look at the basket but a miss.

SammyG 02-19-2010 03:54 AM

You gotta throw that ball into the post anyway. Give it to Lamar, or Pau. Also, Phil and Pau were calling timeout right away, ref gave it to us with like 2.2 seconds left. Retarded. Shoulda had more time at the end. But it doesn't matter, Fisher woulda fucked it up anyways. His defense cost us the game.

Juan 02-19-2010 03:58 AM

I think the fact that the Lakers only scored like 2 points in the last 5/6 mins or so is what really cost them this game.

Juan 02-19-2010 04:01 AM

With 5 minutes to play lakers were up by 3.

They came up empty on the next 5 offensive possessions. That's just not going to cut it.

SammyG 02-19-2010 04:09 AM

If Fisher didn't let Ray score at will, we would have had the game in hand. Fuck you derek fisher.

Yeah, but there were three bonehead plays toward the end that I feel really cost the Lakers the game. Two ill-advised shots by Shannon in crunch and Pau's awful pass to Shannon on the baseline. If the lakers would have scored on those 3 plays, they would have had the game in the bag.

Juan 02-19-2010 04:19 AM

Also, the Nuggets get arguably their biggest win of the year and Skippord is nowhere to be found. For shame

alvarado52 02-19-2010 04:59 AM

that baseline pass was bonehead, but i kinda felt there was contact and a foul should have been called. Its one thing to deny a pass, its another to be pushing a dude out of bounds so he doesnt get the ball. Unless i remember it wrong, it seemed like Brown was stumbling out of bounds while trying to go baseline for the pass.

Either way, it was a dipshit pass. Derek has to go, but it was the 4 turnovers in the 4th that killed us.

Skippord 02-19-2010 05:39 AM

I didn't watch the game

kinda bummed about not getting to to be honest

Juan 02-19-2010 05:53 AM

yep, Knicks just made a lot more room for themselves. McGrady will be gone by the end of the year.

Hopefully they can pull off something next year. Every time Steph Curry blows it up I shed another tear

Droford 02-19-2010 09:32 PM

Wizards beat the Nuggets 107 - 97!

Thornton had 22, Howard had 20 and Blatche had 18 and 11 in the first half (didn't play much at all in the 2nd half)

I was pretty impressed.

SammyG 02-20-2010 04:48 AM

rofl Jamison

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-20-2010 11:05 AM

Derek Fisher can't guard Ray Allen. He just kept shooting over him. They don't let him cover Rondo though because they want someone be able to "roam" and leave Rondo for jumpers. Typically is Kobe but they were using Shannon Brown. I like the roam idea but when a guy is continually getting shitted on maybe they should make a switch. Allen wouldn't have gotten so many easy shots up if Shannon Brown was guarding him, why not just like Derek Fisher roam around? I know he isn't as big he still could have caused some havoc.

SammyG 02-20-2010 01:20 PM

Because if you put Fisher on Rondo, Rondo will blow by him everytime, even if Fish gives him like 10 feet of space.

Buzzkill 02-20-2010 01:27 PM

yo what if LeBron decides to just sign a bunch of 1 year contracts with whoever he thinks is gonna win a championship.

Splaya 02-20-2010 03:19 PM

Greatest move ever

Buzzkill 02-20-2010 09:13 PM

Like imagine this seriously. LeBron is making infinity dollars from endorsements, who cares about NBA contracts? Especially with the upcoming lockout + changes to the CBA, I could legitimately see something like this happen.

The days of 5 yr. $90 million deals are over

Oh well. Mamba can't play superhero every night. This kinda sucks though, with the whole HCA race going on.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-25-2010 12:56 AM

I don't get why that makes you hate ESPN. I can understand getting sick of ESPN from time to time, but I don't see how that graphic adds into the mix.

SammyG 02-25-2010 12:58 AM

Nah, I know why he hates ESPN. They suck Lebron's dick to no end, and they really like to find shit against Kobe all the time.

I don't think they hate Kobe at all. I just think they love Lebron more.

That graphic makes me hate ESPN because they love coming up with stupid stats that no one in their right mind would even think of.

Most Field Goals Made in the last 24 seconds of a one possession game since 2002-2003??? Really??

They pulled this stat out of their ass to make it look like this is just another area where Lebron is better than Kobe.

How about they put up a stat showing how many GAME WINNERS each of them has? I don't think Lebron's number would be as high.

I know it sounds like i'm nitpicking, but ESPN does shit like this all the time and it would bother no matter what players the stats were about.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-25-2010 02:08 AM

They post ridiculous stats all the time, I don't think many people pay attention to them. I've never noticed them "liking" LeBron more than Kobe or vice versa, I just know both are constantly talked about.

Yeah they've been having a bad quarter for most of their games now in the 2nd half this season. Cavs outscored Celtics 20-9 in the early 4th Quarter while Celtics scored about 5 points for the last 5-6 minutes of the game.

This Wizards/Knicks OT has got to go down as one of the worst ever combined.

Went in 112 all, the Knicks now lead 114-112 with 45 seconds to go. Wizards have missed 7 shots, turned the ball over a couple times. For the knicks, Al Harrington missed 2 FTs and they've missed several shots and turned the ball over too.

Edit: McGhee hits 1 of 2 FTs to avoid the tie record for fewest combined points in an OT which was 2.

Droford 02-26-2010 09:53 PM

3 pointer for the Wiz to tie at 116 with 6 seconds left.

More horrible basketball? OOF

NO! David Lee ends it for the knicks lol.

DaveWadding 02-27-2010 01:32 PM

More stupid stats from ESPN:

Most Field Goals Made In Final 24 Seconds, One-Possession Games 2009-10 Season

Kobe Bryant, Lakers, 5
Chris Paul, Hornets, 5
Raymond Felton, Bobcats, 4
David Lee, Knicks, 4
Dirk Nowitzki, Mavs, 4

OMG ESPN is all over Chris Paul sac!!!!
