Well, if they did that then surely they'd have to re-release Mass Effect for the PS3, wouldn't they?

Honestly though, the last console I remember that had more than one game I wanted at launch was the Dreamcast. Launch line-ups generally suck but the games they show off for the future when they announce them are usually great, like the 3DS. This had neither. |

Maybe just 2 and 3 with that comic book thingy. |
I didn't watch Nintendo's conference btw, I was just assuming things. I didn't wake up until after it started and honestly haven't had much interest in Nintendo since Gamecube.
And Hasney, I think you have become too jaded. Maybe stay away from Destructoid/Jim Sterling stuff for awhile. |
UbiSoft did nail it though. I'm still in shock after their last 2 years.
Just shows what one good surprise can do backed up by some solid looking already known games. |
It seems common that Nintendo's latest console gains momentum in the second year.
|
Really think the 3DS Mario game with the whole gold coin thing could probably have been done as a Wario game. Or, with a few tweaks, could have been Wario Bros.
Maybe make the game about collecting a set number of coins in each level. Have enemies that steal coins from you in various ways. Pick Pockets that bump into you, guys with fishing hooks or vacuum cleaners to take cash from you at a distance. Parody Sonic and have a bunch of coins fly out of you when you hit spikes etc. Throw Wario & Waluigi into the main character roles and you're done. |
Watched Konami's presser.
I'm sold on Lords of Shadow 2. Give me that goodness ASAP. I am kinda curious on what's going on for the secret castlevania 3DS game that's in development. Jury's out on revengence. |
Revengence looks fucking awesome.
|
Depends when the Wii U is released but Assassin's Creed 3 would be a launch game and most of the ports can be safely assume to be a launch game.
Only game from Nintendo I noticed that has a launch date is Nintendo Land unless I missed the date for Pikmin 3 and any surprise announcements. Nintendo does have the habit of randomly announcing stuff out of nowhere during E3 which makes people question why they didn't bother to include it in the actual conference. |
Warioware is coming to the Wii U.
I'd have prefered an actual Wario game. Biker Wario was cool at first but I'd rather have Greedy Plumber Wario. |

I'd love a proper Wario game, but I cannot speak ill of Warioware at all.
Seem to hate all mini-game collections bar that one and possibly Mario Party when they're on form. |
You know what game they should remake? That bug swatting game from Mario Paint.
|
Wasn't Wario Shake It for the Wii or something similar in name a traditional Wario type game?
Has Nintendo said anything about the Kirby 20th Anniversary set that is supposed to come out later this year? Stopped watching E3 after the Nintendo conference and don't think its been mentioned so far from the websites I usually go to for gaming news and stuff. Same for the rumored talk about Metroid having its own anniversary set since its the 25th anniversary of the series in the US and they teased last year of doing one for it. |
How about fucking Mario Paint itself. Blows my mind that it didn't come to Wii, and there seems to be no plans for a WiiU version, which makes even more sense.
|
Wario Shake it was an actual Wario game and it was excellent. All the more reason to release more of them and ditch the Warioware series for at least a while.
|
Even though Nintendo didn't say anything about prices for the Wii U, a few places in Japan are rumoring around a $385 price there (roughly 3,000 yen range) which means it will be lower in North America since Nintendo usually prices hardware in the US around $25-$50 less than in Japan.
No clue what they do for Europe or their history with European prices. It also appears Spike Tv had an exclusive deal with Nintendo to show off certain games which is why Project-P from Platinum Games didn't show up in their press conference nor some other games like the Zelda and Donkey Kong levels in Nintendo Land which is supposedly the best parts of the game. |

Mr. Bean. :'(
He is such an adorable man. |

Sweet Jesus the Luminous Studio engine SquareEnix is touting for next-gen is INCREDIBLE.
If this is really in real time then my mind = blown. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/...lumines-engine |
The FF7 "remake" video for the PS3 was realtime as well and the graphics weren't close to it.
It's a good theoretical maximum, but no-one should expect launch games to look like that. |

You can read more about UE4 @ http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2012/05/ff_unreal4/ . |
I don't, but I do expect them to look like that around 2nd or 3rd gen of titles on the new platforms.
|
I can't even imagine UE4. The upgraded UE3 used for the Samaritan demo is incredible in itself.
|
On another note, I hope that those 3 'SECRET E3 GAMES' tomorrow are new announcements. Seems like this show has been devoid of any kind of world-shattering reveals like I'm accustomed to expecting from E3/GDC/TGS type conferences.
Was seriously expecting more this year. |
They're showing off UE4 to the public tomorrow I believe. Should be a video on gametrailers. They were hyping it e-bloody-nough on their live feed the last 2 days.

Still playing catch up and caught the first half of EA that I missed on monday.
Surprised Dr. Ray showed his face for the Old Republic update. Figured he would have gotten booed off the stage. |

I mean, probably not by me, but I've seen some people crave for that. |
It appears a big reason why Nintendo hasn't been able to announce any release dates for the Wii U is due to the FTC still hasn't approved of the device to go on sale since they cover anything electronic. A few rumors are leaning towards an October release with the possibility of November if the FTC delays the approval a bit longer.
http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...th-government/ Wii U Pro controller also revealed to have digital triggers which might make playing certain Gamecube games a bit tougher unless the clickable sticks are used to help replicate certain actions. http://www.screwattack.com/news/wii-...gital-triggers Nintendo also confirms any titles bought on the Wii's Virtual Console will be transferable with previous rumors stating Club Nintendo accounts would play a big role. It also confirms rumors of Nintendo going towards an account-based system for the Wii U in terms of games. http://www.screwattack.com/news/wii-...console-titles Finally, Sony commented on the lack of Vita stuff and PS4 news by saying they don't feel the need to discuss anything about the PS4 until they feel like it. They also are refusing to have a price drop on the Vita and they didn't plan to use their conference to discuss Vita games besides a few quick announcements. http://www.screwattack.com/news/sony...ita-price-drop http://www.giantbomb.com/news/sony-o...nference/4203/ |
Ubisoft out of the way. Best I've seen so far. They took the simple yet effective approach. No kids games bullshit, no new features, just straight game trailers and demos. That Watch Dogs demo was amazing.
Aisha Tyler hosting was nice. Down to earth and had a good time. Unlike Joel McHale last year or the year before. Looked like he was there for a paycheck. Was hoping Jon Benjamin would drop by and do some Archer stuff like one his voice message pranks or something. |
The Warioware game people keep going on about isn't Warioware. It's a traditional minivans collection calls Wario & Watch and doesn't have the fast paced insanity of Warioware. So sod it.
|
Can not fucking wait for New Super Mario Bros. U. Played through the last one twice now, with the roomates. Got all the big coins too, even in star world. Fantastic multiplayer game.
|
Same. Didn't play multiplayer because no-one I know was up for it, but even the single player is fantastic and playing it through on Dolphin in HD on the PC really set me up for the glory of HD Mario.
Because of the above where no-one local wanted to play, please add in online play Nintendo. Please. I will suck off Iwata and Reggie at the same time if required. Just make it happen. Not sure about the 3DS NSMB2. Bit too much of a focus on coins. Don't get me wrong, it'll probably still be great and I will probably get it if it is, but I'm entering with trepidation. |
Do you have a modded Wii or a PC capable of running Dolphin Fignuts? There is a pretty damn awesome fan-made NSMB2 for Wii which is a lot harder. They tried to make it the Lost Levels for NSMB.
|
My PC can't even handle a PS2 emulator. Well, it can handle Firepro R, but that's about it.
You should really find some people to play that with, though. as great as Singleplayer is, it's a totally different experience in multiplayer. Especially with 3 or 4. Going to get Rayman origins tomorrow, as the Legends demo pretty much sold me on it. Start some new multiplayer platforming hijinks. Did they say whether Mario Bros. U was a launch title? |
Reggie said on GT that everything showed was "launch window". They seem to change the definition of that every console though, but I'd suspect at worse it would be 6 months.
