I absolutely love Nigel on commentary. He's such a classic heel commentator, maybe the best at it since late '90s Lawler.

It's not just supporting the heels, it's that he actually buys the heels' motives and narratives and sells it with no sense of irony. Like Christian making a "sizable donation" to Nick Wayne's mom.

So AEW hyped up Tiny Khan announcing a "Dream Match" for Collision, and the dream match is Danielson vs Andrade??? A random throwaway match and rematch from 2018 Smackdown... Tiny is such a creative and genius booker!

Don’t promote things as dream matches. It builds expectations too much and trivializes the concept. This is an exhibition match between two great talents being misused in a struggling vanity promotion.

Why is this even happening? Aren’t they both babyfaces? What is the goal of either guy? Who is actually going to get something out of this? We know that they were great wrestlers in WWE already.

And I haven’t really been paying too close attention, but it seems like Danielson is the one getting the push whilst Andrade’s had dried up without Punk around. So it doesn’t even have the added stakes of you even being unsure of who is going to win. TK could always throw Andrade’s heel group back together and take a step back for no reason, but this is major flaw in what he does.

Wouldn’t it have been better to do something like Copeland & Danielson vs. Christian’s Sons for story reasons? Christian can be on commentary, Starks & Big Bill watching. The heels can get involved after the finish, FTR could do something with a save and even tease something with Edge.

This shit writes itself better than TK writes it.

They sold about 2400 tickets for this Collision. Tony Khan booked a 19,000 seat arena for 2400 people to come and chant "Whoop That Trick" within the first 5 minutes.

Andrade vs Danielson IS a dream match though. In a "Holy shit Andrade is getting a real match instead of wasting away in catering! Am I dreaming!?" kind of way.

Remember when Dave Meltzer used to say that attendance reflected the true health of a promotion? That was when it was convenient to use it to rag on WCW in the late 90s or WWE in the 10s. Probably not fair to use that on AEW tho.

Which certainly didn’t sell as many tickets as it did because it’s the first wrestling show in that building since ‘92. And fans thinking they might actually do something big for the show.

I’m sure Dave has to acknowledge that their attendance is poor. Well, I should say I know he has. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if he moves on from it very quickly and doesn’t link it to the actual health of the promotion like he would encourage people to do for absolutely every other wrestling entity ever.

That very quickly became “Well when WWE does it it’s ok” when WWE has actually been called out on attendance lies forever. It actually seems to be a lot of people’s “gateway myth” that gets busted when they become a smart mark.

No one was surprised that Wembley “did well.” Wasn’t shocking to hear that Tony and scalpers bought up a lot of the tickets too. But what will be interesting is how their return business in the UK does. I can see a second show doing alright because “there’s no way the second one would also suck…right?” Third one? Nah.

But it was an interesting comparison Cornette and Last drew between AEW’s attendance and WCCW’s. This shit is dropping off FAST, but for some reason it isn’t a story nor is it going to be linked to any malpractice by Tony Khan or AEW themselves.

It was an honor and a privilege to see Omega vs MJF live. Holy fuck what a great match.

I just saw a clip AEW’s official Twitter shared. It was AR Fox and Swerve Strickland “fighting” as the pyro for Collision went off. Holy shit, the action in AEW is so bad.

* The brawling to kick off a show thing reeks of desperation.

* Why is AR Fox mad now? He’s been back for weeks and didn’t care Swerve put him out.

* AR Fox cannot throw punches.

* Swerve takes his shirt off as he is getting his ass kicked for some reason. :lol:

* Swerve and Fox do some carefully coordinated spots, ending in a graceful dive from Fox on the conveniently positioned Swerve.
