Atleast we've made it past the wildcard game in the past 10 years..

• Jan. 6, 2007 - NFC Wild Card - Seattle 21, Dallas 20
• Jan. 3, 2004 - NFC Wild Card - Carolina 29, Dallas 10
• Jan. 9, 2000 - NFC Wild Card - Minnesota 27, Dallas 10
• Jan. 2, 1999 - NFC Wild Card - Arizona 20, Dallas 7

The irony pretty much makes my argument all by itself here.

I echo Assman's sentiments, let I remind you all that the Giants are defending Superbowl champions. Game. Set. Match.

Because we all know every team strives to make it to win one playoff game.

I like you're theories.

"I'll argue 'What's the point of making it to the playoffs if you don't win' but I'll ignore 'What's the point of winning a playoff game is you don't even win a conference championship'"

And my favorite "I'll argue 'living in the past' but then, more recently my team missed the playoffs while his didn't, so I don't wanna live in the present either... I just wanna live in that one small piece of time where my team was seemingly better and act like, for some reason, THAT is the time period that matters above all else."

Now you know what it's like losing your best players to injury, RP.

Watching that, I'm still upset Witten didn't score on that play without his helmet. Would have been one of the great TDs of all time.

My favorite play of the season though....

If he gets traded and has to wear a different number than 85, I'll shit my pants.

SammyG 08-30-2008 05:48 AM

Crimson 08-30-2008 12:08 PM

Crimson 08-30-2008 12:08 PM

Mr. Monday Morning 08-30-2008 03:11 PM

Andre Woodson got cut :$

ClockShot 08-30-2008 06:27 PM

Bengals release Rudi Johnson.

Texans release Roosevelt Colvin.

The adventures of Joey Harrington continue

Evil Vito 08-30-2008 07:22 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Wow, pretty surprised we didn't keep Woodson and cut Droughns or somebody.

In fact, if Tynes wasn't hurt, Woodson would be a definite...I'm sure they'll try to get him on the Practice Squad and hope someone else doesn't take him.

Not sure how I feel about John Carney...I hope Tynes isn't out long.</font>

Evil Vito 08-30-2008 07:27 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Also, Giants already have 8 players on IR</font> :o

Kris P Lettus 08-30-2008 07:36 PM

John Carney

:(

We cut K Melhalf which make no f'n sense to me.. I mean, he is a really good kicker and has looked almost as good as Gramatica in camp and preseason.. He just doesn't have the consistency Marteeeeeeen does on kick offs..

I dunno, seems like a huge waste..

RP 08-30-2008 08:48 PM

Colts are the best. I hate Kenton Keith and love Mike Hart and so ofcourse, they cut KK today and keep Mike Hart as the 3rd RB. Love it. Love Mike Hart. He reminds me of Curtis Martin. I wouldnt be suprised if he's getting some of Dom's carries by the end of the season.

lol. That seemed so campy for some reason.

"The Colts are just swell, guys! They're the bees knees!"

CSL 08-31-2008 12:42 AM

Well some of that 'swell' has gone now Lorenzen has been released

I thought Droughns was a lock to get cut but now that I think about it with what happened last year at RB it makes sense for the Giants to try to stay as deep as possible. I'm confident (knock on wood) that Eli will be fine, as well as Carr because our line won't let him get hit that much.

He was a very solid RB at UofA and deserves more than being on special teams where he almost got killed :(

Ninti the Mad 08-31-2008 01:13 PM

New rules.

— Giving designated defensive players a radio in his helmet, allowing coaches to relay defensive signals just as offensive signals are relayed from offensive coaches to the quarterback.

— Eliminating the 5-yard penalties for incidental face masks. Only the 15-yard penalty for grabbing and twisting the mask will be enforced. In addition, officials will be on the lookout for offensive players who latch on to the face masks of defenders in an effort to take them out of plays.

<b>— Eliminating the force out rule. In the past, officials could rule a receiver whose feet had not touched in bounds had made a catch because a defensive player had forced him out. Under the new rule, a receiver must land with both feet in bounds regardless of whether or not he is hit while in the air.

“We feel that with so many levels of judgment that go into the force-out call, it creates a more consistent play when either you get your feet down for a complete pass or you do not,” says Atlanta president Rich McKay, co-chairman of the competition committee, which proposed the change. </b>

— Extending instant replay to cover field goal and extra points and illegal forward handoffs. One reason the rule was added was a play at the end of a game in Baltimore in which Phil Dawson’s 51-yard game-tying field goal attempt for Cleveland bounced off an upright, then off the support behind the crossbar. Officials first ruled it no good because they thought it had hit the crossbar, then conferred and made the correct call.

#1-norm-fan 08-31-2008 04:06 PM

That sucks. I thought the force out rule was a good rule. It doesn't take TOO much judgment either. If a guy is pushing your body while you're in and you come down out of bounds, force out.

Ninti the Mad 08-31-2008 04:09 PM

Yeah, it will be a bitch call when it happens in the endzone and you are on 3rd down.

What if someone just decided to try and carry you outside? Whats the sanction on that? Horrible.

We'll see though. Maybe it'll make the NFL a little more 'gangsta' where the recievers have to work harder and stiff the competition.
