Sort of wish the real cast members could do more fun stuff like that. Obviously its just 5 stuntmen.

I'd be surprised if the cast could do a cartwheel.

There was a fun news piece for Samurai where the cast did appear in costume and did some action stuff. This sticks out to me because the news anchor was in the MMPR Pink costume and looked good in it.

That mix is pretty bad.

Super Megaforce (ugh) is just starting, but the next PR is already being shown to investors and third parties.

This confirms that they're skipping the Sentai between the Super Mega and Dino Charge (which did look really stupid anyway so kudos).

This would be the third PR team to have a dinosaur theme, following the original Mighty Morphin and DinoThunder. In Japan, the Dino Charge crew actually teamed with their past Dino themed teams in a big special. Would be interesting to see if we do the same.

Hopefully this won't be as wooden as Samurai and Mega. Jesus.

Have yet to finish either of those seasons, maybe I'll do it when I get my Shout Factory Red Ranger Helmet.

Problem with skipping Go-Busters to do Kyoryuger is that well...Kyoryuger is redonkulously Japanese. I mean I enjoyed it but the ending man...the ending.

Would be the record that SPD is currently holding for most rangers though.

They don't really need to emulate the ending, though they seemed to have curbed creative work by adapting the source material more often now.

Go-Busters just looked off to me, more like Kamen Riders or other Toku heroes than actual Power Rangers. On the plus side, and one of the great advantages of this sort of thing, nothing's really stopping them from using Go-Buster monsters, weapons, and zords. They could remix those elements to bolster Dino Charge with a second season or whatever.

I really liked the music episode with the Heath Slater Monster but couldn't really get into the series. The Zordon-like guy (and the Robot) sounds too much like guy from Wings and SpiderMan3 (Sandman.)

I liked the Red Ranger story with the guy looking for a final opponent from the previous series. Predictable ending but still good for a kids series.

SuperMega will debut the suits the originals should have used in MMPR Season 2, what I dub the 'Thunder Ranger' suits since they would have accompanied the Thunder Zords.

Horrible, nonsensically placed dialogue juxtaposed with totally swag action (DRUNKEN RANGER STYLE), makes me sad. :(

Yeah Dairanger is pretty sweet. Shame we never got to see any of the footage in the states.

Though I think they subbed all of Dairanger so if you want to see sweet Drunken Fist style fighting on their foot soldiers...you can.

They didn't bother to make this power-up any more special than the others. Kinda pissed, but it is MMPR in HD. And after 20yrs... Yellow has a skirt. There you go, Trini. RIP.

Yeah that fight...ug. It's a big character development moment in Gokaiger. Here? It's just shrugged off. Kinda hate Super Megaforce for how they're handling the footage. But hey, at least we got Maskman and Flashman even if they weren't name cause of the Gokaiger footage.

Are they going to explain how they have these powers with the coins being destroyed? Or is it just fuck it?

They explained the show's gimmick in the first episode. Ranger Keys are used to emulate the powers of every past team. Their own power sources are not mentioned.

But even years before now we seen the original coins being used post-"destroyed".

Like in the PRIS episode "Always A Chance" when Adam used it, though they said that using the destroyed power could kill him.

Perhaps some coins were better off than others. Jason had no issues in Forever Red. And Adam seemed to have solved the dangers of his coin by Always A Ranger.

The real presser is Tommy's upcoming appearance in the Super Megaforce special. Of all the (still active) powers in his belt, he uses the one where it's destruction was a major plot point for two seasons. It's unlikely the current writers even care for deep canon like that, but a mention wouldn't hurt. Perhaps he found it from his clone/ancestor he left back in time.

That would make a lot of sense, seeing as how his clone could've left it somewhere he knows the current time Tommy would look but yeah, canon seems like it's only partly there and at most parts non-existent.

Saban and Lionsgate are teaming up to do a non-campy movie reboot.

Not sure how I feel about that btw.

Interesting news. Was going to post something earlier but watched that Goldar video and had to run to catch a bus to work.

Another reactive reboot. Ninja Turtles are doing one so the Rangers have to follow suit as to not lose chances to make new toys. Probably won't be seeing in the theater anyways. I was kinda embarrassed seeing the first one in theaters when I was 13.

Non-campy might be a mistake. Part of the charm of the series was that it was funny. They'll probably try to make it serious and screw it up so it'll be funny anyways just not as funny as it could have been if they aimed for comedy.

Shut up! It'll be awesome!

I bet Jason David Frank will have a cameo as well.

Just as an aside, I have gotten my kids into Power Rangers. They have started watching from episode 1 of MMPR on netflix, and we are going through them all. Onto season 3 of MMPR.

They love it. They are also asking me to locate toys/zords, etc. It's great to see it all again, and I can share my slightly obsessive knowledge about the first five seasons.

Saban has done nothing good since getting PR back. I have no faith in this project.

Camp =/= Comedy

There are campy movies that aren't funny, and funny movies that aren't campy.

Gonna see Austin in July at Supercon, and hopefully Walter again as well.

MMPR Red, Blue, Black, Pink 2, and Yellow 2 will be at Supercon this weekend. As well as Zeo Yellow and SPD Red. Will be psyched to see them.
