:)

I loved seeing the fans sing 'You Never Walk Alone' before the second half started. They are true class.

Alonso is my favourite player. His footballing skills are sublime. Know my input is now ridiculousy drunk and unnecessary. However I'd like to give my fucking credit to Jersey Dudek who's had an up and down season, however his grobbelaar stunts was not only hillarious but amazing to. Know that Smicer, Baros and him might leave. They left a great impression though. Worked their hearts out.

True fucking fans who support the club, buy the season tickets and shirts. Whether we get fifth or win the champions league. Through thick and thin. Class fans. Enough to shake hands and admit that life isn't so bad. We'll be back whatever happens, every club gets another chance. Been an excellent season, ups and downs. So many downs but the finale was more than I could have ever asked for. Love this thread, respect to you all.

AWWWWW, you big gay. I know what you mean though, I like the fact that most football fans get along with each no matter who they support, I don't really have a problem with any team to be honest. Like I said when you lot beat us Socconor, I shok hands with a scouser and wished them luckin the final, did the same after the first leg too, I am genuinely pleased that others get to feel the joy that I would love to feel.

I was saying over at Rajah's how fickle United fans are who say that they'd support United no matter how bad they were, and no matter how much success Glazers brings they wouldn't care, yet they all snub the lap of honour because they had a shit season. That's not fucking football fans at all, I hate people that leave early, that don't clap their team off the pitch, and that only show interest when they are doing good. United have had it good for so fucking long they can't deal with it now, Liverpool and Chelsea fans have had a pretty shit decade (well pretty much a shit century for us) so they appreciate it more. Football is about so much more then winning, its about supporting your team no matter what, winning is an added bonus. When you lot done us 1-0 at our gaff last year, my Liverpool supporting mate ran up to me the next day and unzipped my jacket whilst saying about 'I bet I know what shirt you don't have on under there' and was shocked I had my Chelsea one on, what a twat, I wear it the day of and the day after EVERY game, regardless of the result, regardless of how well or bad we played or anything else.

There is so much more to football then winning, there really is, I wish that all football fans realise that, but you see from teams attendances when they aren't doing so well that this isn't the case, and it upsets me.

Fucking hell I wrote alot more then I wanted to, I have an exam tomorrow I am supposed to be revising for.

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:14 PM

:)

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:16 PM

Good luck with your exam mate.

Dazz 05-25-2005 08:18 PM

Thanks, I was gunna revise after the game, thinking it would be easy to do so, but after seeing such a brilliant game of football, I simply cannot be fucked, really is no point revising, I tried half hour ago but I cannot take anything in.

Rob Ban Fan 05-25-2005 08:20 PM

yeah Dazz, you're the man.

It was like after the West Brom game where they had stayed up and we were all just joining in singing together and I had random half naked West Brom fans shaking my hand and saying thanks and people were swapping shirts and scarfs with people they'd never met and probably would never see again.

I don't really have a problem with Southampton fans, for me the rivalry is just a bit of banter and I obviously want us to beat them but they're just fans who love their club as much as I love mine and feel the same when they win or lose as I do when Pompey do. (However i fucking hate that lying cunt Redknapp and want them to do badly until he fucks off when they can come back up and we can get on with our rivalry)

soconnor 05-25-2005 08:21 PM

You stupid fuck, your exams are more important than that. Sure you'll do fine though mate. You were so respectful and modest when you lost against us in the champions league it's hard not to like you as a fan. You still won the premier and Carling off us so you can smile. Hope your hairdressing course goes well. All the best lad.

Rob 05-25-2005 08:21 PM

1 - Congrats Liverpool. As soon as I saw Gerrard score, I knew they'd win it. Didn't think Riise would miss a penalty though. I take back what I said about them being undeserving champions because they deserved their win tonight.

2 - As a United fan, I am not gonna lie like others (I'm sure some are truthful). I didn't want Liverpool to win, nor am I happy they won. Fair play to them for winning it and I'm glad their supports get a great night like I did when we beat Bayern but I'd rather they lost still. Oh well.

3 - Harry Kewell is the biggest poof I have ever seen. Never in my life have I seen a player do so little to win a medal. Not just in the final, during the whole champions league. Absolute fucking tosspot. Smicer and Hamann showed him up to no end.

4 - Don't care what anyone says, Dudek meant that last save.

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:21 PM

No use revising if you ain't gonna take anything in.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 08:23 PM

The most surprising part about the whole thing is just how many, let's be honest here, quite rubbish players Liverpool have in that Champions League side. Traore, Smicer, Baros, Dudek to an extent. Dudek was amazing when he was at Feyenoord and for Liverpool until the Forlan incidents.

Jamie Carragher is ridiculously improved from the utility bit-part full back and midfielder, Phil Neville-style player, he used to be. Just cannot believe how superb he has been this season. He deserves as much credit as John Terry.

Now that Gerrard is going to stay, Liverpool have an excellent basis for a genuinely good side under a great manager. Gerrard and Alonso are potentially the best midfield in the world. Up front, I'm not convinced by Cisse yet, but Morientes is top class. Shift Baros and get someone else in. Sinama-Pongolle looks a great little player.

Looks like Reina is coming in the summer already, but apart from him they do with another centre-back, a full back and a centre forward. Maybe another wide player, and revert Riise to full back again.

Aimar seems to be a strong running rumour. Then Benitez could play his Valencia formation with Gerrard, Alonso and Aimar playing in midfield and one up front.

Anyway, it'd be good if they build on this to become a side challenging for the title.

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:24 PM

I am so happy that Benitez is our manager.

Rob Ban Fan 05-25-2005 08:25 PM

yeah, during the match I was thinking that about Carragher and how a couple of season ago he was being kept out by Henchoz and occassionaly coming in to play at right or left back. He's had a very good season.

Danny Electric 05-25-2005 08:26 PM

Yeah I agree we need another centre-back, fair play to Sami for all the work over the years he has given us. He's getting on a bit and we need someone there. I'd like another full back to but I think Riise has done great in that position.

I always get the feeling that when Cisse is on the pitch that something will happen. That injury came at the wrong time for him, I still think he'll be great.

soconnor 05-25-2005 08:27 PM

Much respect you Rob. You're a great poster on the board but you're a man united fan so it was hard to connect with you. Glad you can admit we did deserve it because it was a fucking hectic ride. Know Man United will have a great shot at it next year. Now we can all relax and just enjoy it. Know Gerrard and Alonso are amazing, we need another solid centre back and a good left midfield. Also Cisse or Morientes needs to get into top form. A top class forward would be amazing. Shevchenko, you know you want to.

Rob 05-25-2005 08:27 PM

Gerrard, Carragher and Alonso were simply phenominal.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 08:29 PM

I think Djibril Cisse is another Guiv'arch. Mountains of goals in the French league, bit of a crap player. The joke about him last year was that his hairstyle added £6 million to his transfer fee: probably true.

Liverpool should take Diouf back. He's a cracking player. Bit of a cunt, but brilliant.

Yes but I cannot revise, even when I try, its a 4pm exam so I have time tomorrow morning. You lol you should see the state of my hair right now :$.

Like I have said all season though, the league is the one I wanted, I would obviously love the Champions League too, but if I had a choice it would have been the league, and we got it, so I am happy. I got to go to Cardiff, Nou Camp, Olympicstadion, St James' Park, Old Trafford, Anfield, and most importantly Fratton Park. I have had many a great experience this season, so I am not really upset that we weren't in the final, it's ours next season.

I thought the FA Cup final was a great game, myself. Rooney and Ronaldo showed just how scarily good they are on the big occasion.

Two great finals to round the season off. It's a pity the Lions were so shit on Monday.

Dazz 05-25-2005 08:33 PM

The Duck laughed at me like five years ago when I said Carragher should be right back ahead of Gary Neville, and I still stick by what I said. I have always thought he was class.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-25-2005 08:35 PM

To be fair, Gary Neville is a better right back than him. Carragher has come into his own as a centre-back, he belongs there as a pure defender.

Gary Neville, for all the shit he gets, is a brilliant full back.

Rob Ban Fan 05-25-2005 08:35 PM

I've got my doubts about Cisse too but we'll wait and see.

If I was a Liverpool fan I wouldn't take Diouf back on principal, fucking loathsome cunt. I'd fuck him off to Spain or somewhere, just to get rid of him. He's a good player but he's a horrible person.

Thats something that really fucks me off about Bolton fans. Yes, fair enough he's a good player but the way they're so far up his arse going on about how pathetic the way he's treated is and giving it all the "we're not worthy" and egging him on when he dives and cheats.

I can honestly say if he played for us I wouldn't cheer the cunt. I wouldn't boo him because I don't boo Pompey players but I wouldn't cheer the cunt (unless he scored but i cant help that  )

packt up 05-25-2005 08:38 PM

Shev was good tonight Dazz sheesh whats a man got to do to impress you. His goal was pretty comfortably level I thought and he set up the second.

Alonso is class and has been throughout the season. And I also agree that Smicer and Baros gave their all. Particularly Baros who slaved away when the going wasn't quite so good for Liverpool. And a great way for Smicer to sign off.

I aint the biggest liverpool fan by any means but i offer my congratulations. I just hope your fans cherish this and dont take it for granted remember many clubs including my own will never have this experience.

I would have liked if he stayed, I think he's a great player to have on the bench and he's done great for us.

Wayne Bridge is as good as Gary Neville, and they are both not worthy of being first choice defenders. Neville always has someone good inside him, and I absolutely hate the way they both don't pick up the wide man till he has the ball, and it then gives them time to run at them, cross it or do something else. I seriously don't see Gary Neville as a great right back, I see him as a Carlos like player, average at the back, but a helluva lot better attacking, Gary Neville's crosses and passing is the only thing thats that good about his game. And his leadership skills but I am talking purely about on the actual football ability

Open goal and he just about got it in off the post. Also went on to lose 4-1. Good times.

Dazz 05-25-2005 08:50 PM

He had a quality shot against us in October that either hit the post or went just wide, think it went just wide, but he was playing really well that game. I like him.

Rob 05-25-2005 09:14 PM

I'm not sold on Gerrard staying at Liverpool now. They are hardly going to do any better than this and without 4 or 5 players, they won't challenge for the league. Maybe he thinks this is his Liverpool peak and wants to move on to Man United.

Okay, the last part was a dream.

Okay, the last part was a dream.

I said to my mates at the start of the match that I think that Gerrards decision to stay wouldn't be influenced on tonights game. Rafa will sit him down, ask him to wait till July when the transfers have largely been done, and then try to persaude him to stay. If Gerrard leaves before the end of July I will be shocked.
