A Fabs spoof complete with music video would be amazing.

Was chatting w a source who told me two matches WWE is considering for WM 36....

Tyson Fury vs. Brock Lesnar

Rey / Dominick / Cain Velasquez vs. Seth /AOP

Apparently some sales numbers for the WWE 2K series were recently revealed as part of an on-going lawsuit involving copyright infringement claims regarding Randy Orton's tattoos in the games.

WWE 2K16, 2K17, and 2K18 averaged around 3.38 million copies sold while 2K20 is currently well below that pace.

That’s a per year average of 3.38 million units and $139,564,000 in total revenue. The numbers are way down this year due to the issues with this year’s game, but that shows the value of the WWE franchise in that market.

Seanny One Ball 12-20-2019 06:22 PM

So does WWE make its money from everything other than actual wrestling at this point?

Emperor Smeat 12-20-2019 07:00 PM

Pretty much. TV deals and other rights deals have been carrying the company financially for a long while now.

Take out both and WWE probably is a lot closer to death of WCW range or upper indies range like NXT but without WWE's money subsidizing it.

Droford 12-20-2019 08:27 PM

The guy that did Orton's tattoos is going to ruin wrestlers getting tattoos. Vince ain't going to pay every tattoo artist that tattoos wrestlers

The tattoo guy also wasn't thinking big enough..he should be asking for a cut of ppv sales and network money

WWE have to go back and blur up Orton on the network like the wwf logo

DaveWadding 12-21-2019 02:59 AM

Randomly wondered onto an ROH show. Its Dinastia Munoz (RUSH & Dragon Lee) vs the Briscoes in a 60 man Iron Man match. Really excellent last 5 minutes.

Have this vague memory of Ashley Massaro managing Londrick during their reign as WWE Tag Team Champions and the trio making their entrance to her music. This is closest thing I've been able to find.

When Ric Flair debuted Meltzer said people said Flair was ruining the bizness bc they were used to the boring stuff like headlocks and hammerlocks and thought Flair's wrestling style was 'over the top/cartoonish'.

Now Flair is the gold standard for many. Wouldn't surprise me if Ricochet and others who flip/kick often are not the gold standard in the future for many.

David Bixenspan going hard after PWInsider after they once again joined in on the WWE dog pile against AEW and also for some recent digs they made towards Ryan Satin.

PWI in recent times have really become the Vince McMahon and/or WWE of wrestling journalism in terms of their pettiness and spitfulnessl towards others for even the smallest issues.

By the way, to be clear:

There’s a massive, massive distinction between someone having concerns about the implications of Ryan Satin’s Fox Sports/WWE Backstage job and taking massive cheap shots saying that the guy probably needs the money.

But it’s Dave Scherer, so…yeah.
— David Bixenspan (@davidbix) December 21, 2019

Emperor Smeat 12-21-2019 08:02 PM

Like when Meltzer is petty towards someone its either due to him arguing over some of the dumbest things possible or being goated by trolls to start arguments.

Satin can be pretty bad at times as well with stuff like that and even Fightful's Sapp but none of them compare to PWI's growing pettiness during the past year or two. Only reason PWI gets less backlash for their antics is due to them not really doing it on social media and instead mostly on their pay shows and terribly designed website.

I honestly have no clue how that malware kingdom of a website is still even around at this point. I know Mike Johnson is good @ WWE scoops, though I get a kick out of him taking credit for all of them (I've never heard of him crediting Meltzer, Satin, Sapp, anyone else).

There's no way PWIinsider's base is anything but the plus 50 crowd who dominates WWE ratings.

Emperor Smeat 12-22-2019 10:54 PM

Supposedly the lack of sourcing is due to PWI viewing themselves as being above dirtsheet reporters and also being very stubborn when it comes to reporting news they can't break first. Also some real jealously and resentment towards the Observer and Meltzer that has gotten a lot worse over the past year or two.

Also wouldn't be surprised if they don't really have that many insider sources that are wrestler or Creative-based outside whatever WWE approves. The Saudi travel issue might have exposed that problem since they hesitated on reporting details and when they did, it was mostly just WWE's PR stance while also blaming wrestlers for "spreading rumors" which was Corey Graves stance on his podcast show.

Pretty big step up from some Korean movie where he's a gentile giant, but suddenly can kick copious amounts of ass when he eats spicy food.

No, the sad thing is that WWE would be very likely to try to force this as a thing instead of a one-off accidental goof.

Eh. Your revelation actually makes that worse.

And hilarously, they could scrub themselves clean with a trip to NWA or Japan. In fact, Japan with Mox would be a fantasy that lends credence to the assertion of the New Japan video package that insinuates that "Death Riders" being an actual group Moxley is a part of. And you add in his Japanese son to the mix, and you have... well, I was going to say four horsemen, but not in the trademarked throw your fingers up way, but in the "behold a pale rider..." way.

That would make them "weiner cousins" (thanks, Todd n Tyler), and they should be referred to as kayfabe cousins as such... much like the three Hollys.

Wouldn't really be able to make that into a team name, though. Well, not one they could use. Then again, WWE did try to start a women's stable called "Submission Sorority" without doing like 30 seconds of investigation as to why that would be a very, very bad idea.

Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of "Grab Them Cakes". I was one of those that was wondering what happened to him coming out to "Another One Bites The Dust". I was way too young to understand copyrights and whatnot back then.

Reminiscing some of Vince McMahon's terrible decisions from 2019. From announcing the Wild Card rule and immediately breaking the rules within the next hour of the show to the "no wrestling during commercials" shtick which led to a few weeks of "2-out-of-3" falls matches. Completely butchering Ambrose's heel turn from last year, stunting Seth Rollins' progress as a baby face champion and unnecessarily shoving Wyatt into the Universal title picture. It's also sad that Drew McIntyre hasn't won a major championship since the NXT world title.

Drew is sadly a perfect example of time and place not jiving. When he first got hired, Vince pushed him until he got bored. Then, he was left to languish. He became comedic jobber fodder. He got released. He was reborn in the fire of the indies... which made WWE come a-callin' again. Looked like he was getting a rocket up his ass. Now, he's just part of the toy collection.

Kinda wish he were on his release resurgence like now. It was fine when he was helping the European wrestling renaissance, but now? The man could be a hot ticket item for AEW or NJPW or NWA. Hell, I honestly even could see him as someone who could honestly be a helpful piece of the RoH roster to slow their apparent crumbling. Instead, WWE does what WWE does, and takes any interest and excitement and momentum built either by outside circumstance or even A PUSH THEY THEMSELVES START and just let the guy become background again in short order.
