Apparently Matt Riddle currently has backstage heat in WWE regarding his social media antics.

While WWE was very fond of his constant digs at Goldberg and others not in the company, they didn't feel the same way when it came to him recently trying to do the same with Lesnar. Even if they were initially amused by it, that changed once they found out Lesnar was legit upset with Riddle.

Whatever plans they had for Riddle at the Rumble got tossed out which is why he was quickly eliminated and why him and Lesnar were never in the ring at the same time since Lesnar flat out refused to ever work with him.

He mentioned “dreams” twice on Raw. It’s almost like they’re teasing us with it.

I’m not buying it. What has Riddle even said about Brock? What would the plans have been for Riddle? Get tossed out in seconds by Brock? That Rumble was structured so perfectly. Riddle came out at a moment where he could get some shine and get dumped by Corbin, who wasn’t going to be in there when Brock was.

Brock vs. Matt Riddle isn’t THAT interesting on the surface. The fans are going to be super into it now because they think Brock really hates the guy. They are playing up his bad boy image. Edge wouldn’t have mentioned him on Raw. They would have kept him out of the Rumble in favor if someone Brock likes to get dumped. Curtis Axel doing the Axelmania gimmick or whatever.

Basically Riddle has been constantly mocking Lesnar and blabbering about wanting to retire Lesnar at Mania for months. Its been a lot less mean spirited or trash talk than what he was doing towards Goldberg but also something that could get annoying very fast if done to the wrong person.

Seems Lesnar simply wasn't in the mood for more of Riddle's antics and told it to his face to knock it off backstage during the Rumble show.

All it takes is for Vince or someone of importance to be around or hear what happens to get plans changed and its been speculated Riddle was meant to have lasted longer than he did in the Rumble. Outside of Luke Gallows and the Miz, everyone else in the latter half of the Rumble got at least 4 minutes of ring time while Riddle was the second shortest with 41 seconds.

Apparently Japan's Pro Wrestling NOAH was recently bought by DDT Pro's parent company.

For some reference, NOAH rejected offers by NJPW and WWE in the past to be bought by them while DDT Pro is comedy style promotion which is going to make that a weird but interesting partnership.
