Fantasy betting site Fan Duel got hit with a class action lawsuit by NFL players in regards to using their likeness and names without permission for commercials. Unlike Draft Kings, Fan Duels doesn't have an actual deal with the NFLPA to allow them to use players for advertising.

Redskins Pierre Garcon filed the lawsuit on behalf of the players.

PONTIAC, MI — The Pontiac Silverdome will be torn down in 2016.

According to a report from the Detroit Free Press, the owner of the 127-acre property the old home of the Detroit Lions sits on has decided to knock the stadium down to make the land easier to sell.

Over the summer, the stadium went up for sale for around $30 million. CBRE realtor Robert Mihelich told MLive, at the time, the number was flexible, though.

The current owner is Toronto-based Triple Properties, a development company run by Andreas Apostolopoulos and his son, Steve Apostolopoulos.

They purchased the Silverdome for $583,000 in 2009 — less than 1 percent of the initial $55.7 million it cost to build in 1975 — and are reneging on a commitment to redevelop the former Detroit Lions stadium.

A broker with CBRE told the Free Press on Thursday that "It is going to come down..."

The decision is dictated by feedback received while trying to sell the building.

The owners in February launched a design competition, soliciting redevelopment ideas from the general public. The contest deadline was April 12, and the winner who presented the best idea was scheduled to be announced in May or June, according to the contest website, which is still active.

The Silverdome property has a 2014 assessed market value of about $2.1 million, according to the Oakland County Assessor's Office.

Recently, it's only been crumbling.

The Free Press reports the Silverdome will begin going through the demolition process this spring.
Kind of sad, really...the place where Joe Montana won his 1st Super Bowl and where WrestleMania III happened will soon be gone.

Probably not a shock though, given the way the building was treated since it closed to events.

Funny how they had games in England before Canada. Isn't it ronic?

looking pretty much like every Giants/Saints game in the dome. Brees is just effortlessly connecting on one deep pass after another.

I have no faith in the Saints/Drew Brees not shitting the bed here...

They won't, Goants have some mental thing about Brees in New Orleans

#1-norm-fan 11-01-2015 03:21 PM

That was when the Saints/Brees were good at home.

Nowadays they have a knack for giving games away. Doing things like... throwing bad INTs in the opponent's territory in the second half of a close game.

Oh hey, look at that.

Evil Vito 11-01-2015 03:31 PM

That game is just about over. Only reason the Giants were able to make up a 2 score deficit is because they had the benefit of getting the ball twice in a row via halftime.

OssMan 11-01-2015 03:59 PM

STFU Vito Cruz

Evil Vito 11-01-2015 04:20 PM

Giants are definitely going to find a way to blow this.

Evil Vito 11-01-2015 04:24 PM

Not much doubt that this is going to end on an Eli INT. Too much has gone right for him today.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-01-2015 04:32 PM

Jesus christ

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-01-2015 04:34 PM

Miss it I need Sneed to get a few more meaningful points and the game winning TD in OT.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-01-2015 04:35 PM

Giants and Mets going down in flames on the same day. Start spreadin' the news!

Evil Vito 11-01-2015 04:37 PM

lol after being the heroes last week the special teams unit comes back down to earth and blows it.

The NFC East is a fucking abortion

#1-norm-fan 11-01-2015 04:39 PM

Vito losing his reverse jinx powers. Excellent.

Evil Vito 11-01-2015 04:41 PM

Yes. I got greedy. :(

Evil Vito 11-01-2015 04:46 PM

only thing I don't get...the facemask was the right call, but the refs had huddled and said no penalty. How did they then huddle again and suddenly decide to change it? Based on the crowd reaction they probably showed the replay on the video board but the refs really aren't supposed to use that stuff as replays aren't subject to official review.

It's probably irrelevant anyway. Brees would have gotten his 8th TD in OT anyway. He wasn't going to be denied.

#1-norm-fan 11-01-2015 05:24 PM

Wish Dallas could find a backup QB who is only "sorta" bad.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-01-2015 05:42 PM

Backups who are only sorta bad are starters elsewhere.

We need to sync up, I can't be doing the realist jinx while you do the reverse jinx

Ruien 11-01-2015 07:05 PM

Seattle going to give this game away......... Why is Seattle so bad this year. Arg

Emperor Smeat 11-01-2015 07:29 PM

Got rid of too many good players especially on offense. Got Graham thinking he'd be great but instead he doesn't really fit in the system there. Wilson has regressed a bit but could be due to the player's they lost on the O-line as well.

Good point. The only thing we need to sync up on is calling for Coughlin's job. That and syncing up on jinxes should do the trick.

#1-norm-fan 11-01-2015 09:01 PM

If the Cowboys go winless over a 2 month span without Romo and Giants and Eagles can't pull away and end up losing the division, it would be the greatest thing in the history of the world.

Holy shit the Ravens won!

Am I crazy to think atv2-6 the Ravens could still make the playoffs given the 3 best AFC wild card contenders are the 4-3 Jets and Raiders and 4-4 Steelers who they beat? I dunno

screech 11-02-2015 10:51 AM

I like to look at the bright side, but I'm not buying that right now. Flacco has made some awful decisions that led to drive/game-killing interceptions. Plus the defense would probably get wrecked by a college team at this point.

Nothing is really clicking and I'm not sure how it could be fixed.

Damonte Moore keeps getting these unnecessary roughness penalties, which shows undiscipline. That goes all the way to the top.

ClockShot 11-02-2015 01:32 PM

Took a few weeks, but Denver finally figured it out.

How about the number of times the team decides to not punt the ball out of bounds in the closing seconds? Coughlin is fucking senile.

ClockShot 11-02-2015 08:08 PM

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Broncos picked up Vernon Davis from the Niners for a couple late round picks in 2016 and 2017.

Not a bad grab to fill TE hole with a veteran. But, now I gotta wonder why Elway didn't pony up the cash to retain Julius Thomas during the offseason?

Ruien 11-02-2015 10:03 PM

Because he went for a shit ton of money they needed elsewhere.

It's been a good move so far. He's been injured and crap this year. If you paid him he'd have been paid to do nothing.

#1-norm-fan 11-02-2015 11:38 PM

Plus Peyton's knack for making sub-par receivers look great over the years probably made him feel like he could plug anyone in and splurge elsewhere.

#1-norm-fan 11-03-2015 12:15 AM

Kaepernick benched. The Blaine Gabbert era begins in San Francisco.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-03-2015 01:10 AM

Colin Throwapick is done lol.

#1-norm-fan 11-03-2015 01:35 AM

Here's an NFL Playoff Generator if anyone wants to fuck around with it and see what they come up with.

Ruien 11-03-2015 07:26 AM

Colts may have lost but it seems they really turned it around in the 4th quarter. That is the Colts team I have been waiting for.
