El Capitano Gatisto 06-06-2005 08:16 AM

The two games against Israel are the two most sickening Ireland matches I've seen. Last minute equaliser out there, then that shambles last night. That referee was a fucking joke, and the Israeli goalkeeper deserves to die in a suicide bombing.

Cactus Sid 06-06-2005 08:37 AM

Apparently Man U have agreed a fee with Fulham for Edwin Van Der Sar

Should be a good signing for them, if only for a season or two.

Y2Ant 06-06-2005 09:58 AM

lol they should have signed him like 5 years ago, bit too late now.

Fulham are gonna go down now

Cactus Sid 06-06-2005 10:34 AM

FIFA have rejected Ireland's appeal over O'Brien's Red Card

What the fuck is wrong with them, to me this is a complete endorsement of cheating in the game, and a big thumbs up to all the bullshit the keeper did yesterday

My betting is they didn't even look at the incident and just said "a card is a card", but if that isn't the case, then it is utterly disgraceful

I just find it so funny that he's blaming everybody except himself for what has happened, and keeps coming out with some utter rubbish.

He said that he wanted 60k a week, but Arsenal said they'd give him 55, doubling his wages. If he loved Arsenal so much, why didn't he just say....its 5 grand a week, what does it matter. He also said something about "people don't want me to pull on my beloved Arsenal shirt". Wasn't so beloved when Chelsea were shoving a 100,000 a week under your nose and certainly didn't stop him from meeting them when under contract to Arsenal.

I hope the F.A throw the book at him after his appeal.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Ashley Cole = prick

LK 06-06-2005 10:47 AM

Van der Sar was one of the guys I wanted United to go for so he would be a decent purchase.

Oxstar 06-06-2005 11:04 AM

Who thinks Palace are going straight back into the premier league? We have made 3 great signings of Jobi Mcanuff, Darren Ward and John Macken, i think we have the best team in the championship currently.

Oxstar 06-06-2005 11:05 AM

United should have went for Sebatian Frey or the czech number 2 goalkeeper Jan lastuka what ever he is called!

Rob 06-06-2005 11:23 AM

We should have signed Van Der Sar on a Bosman in January.

Rob Ban Fan 06-06-2005 11:58 AM

fantastic signing, might get some money on Fulham going down now, van der Sar was the reason that absolute shambles of a defence didn't ship thousands of goals.

Well you have the manager there to take you up but I am not sure if you have the players. See how Southampton look when the new season starts cause I would say they have the best team at the moment.

packt up 06-06-2005 03:08 PM

Good signing by Man U, Fulham are gonna struggle this year.

Wengerland 06-06-2005 03:19 PM

Yep, good move for United. Fulham are meant to be after Robert Green to replace van der Sar.

That Israeli keeper is a cunt, staying down for ages, getting O'Brien sent off and then a few pretty fortunate saves, god.

At the minute Palace look good for promotion, yes, but there's still a lot of moves to be made. Macken wouldn't work well alongside Johnson on paper, so he could be his replacement. He wouldn't have wanted to go from a premiership sub/occassional starter to a championship one.

I think you have a very good side but the chapioship/1st division is a tight league (I know from experience) so i think you might have to settle for second behind norwhich. I think they have the most settled side.

Altar of Helmsley 06-06-2005 08:18 PM

I think it will be Norwich going up, with (and this hurts) Palarse in second, play offs will be as tight as ever.

But i can see Southampton, Wolves, Ipswich and Sheffield United or Sheffield Wednesday (mainly because of sturrock) being there or there about.

Wengerland 06-07-2005 04:43 AM

I might put some money on Wednesday, 40/1 with a good manager and a young, talented side, not bad at all.

We've signed Rab Douglas.

Yep, I no longer think you are dead certs for the drop, Fulham cannot stay up, I just can't see it.

Pompey are playing a pre season friendly against Iran. I take it our resident Iranian exiles Dazz and Danny Electric will be there supporting their boys.

Dazz 06-07-2005 06:51 AM

When ticket details are on sale lemme know, and I may well go.

Also, unles you are planning to give out your username and password for the site, no one will be able to read it, you stupid spastic.

Rob Ban Fan 06-07-2005 08:41 AM

well, anyone who supports a club with a premium TV site can read it, you just need to sign up to one and you can view them all. Wengerland and Metal Mike can read it.

They also run the official website of the Carling Cup. Did you know that? Well you do now, Dazz.

But they have ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL ZAT KNIGHT :'(

Yeah

Macken is shite btw

Also yes I dunno what Ferguson is playing at really Van Der Sar was available for free a few months ago and he did nothing, now he's blown £2m he didn't have to. Presumably he'll get it back from selling Kleberson and the like, but with his supposed limited budget now he must be kicking himself.

Was he at least good for Dundee? He must've had something about him that got him those caps and had him as Martin O'Neill's no.1 for most of his reign :'( Just seemed to make errors in the high-profile games unfortunately, should be a competitive league though and we've got 44 tough games, then there's the 2 against Wolves :D;)

Anywho it seems to be a decent signing for a club in our league, i rate him as at least equal to Walker and his wages will be a fair bit lower. Paul Henderson has also come in and is very highly rated, so he'll have competition.

Mr. Monday Morning 06-07-2005 02:52 PM

I can't wait til Incey breaks Douglas' fucking legs :foc:

Assuming he re-signs that is :'(

Wengerland 06-08-2005 08:17 AM

ahahaha George Burley has left Derby, they won't be as good without him and Camp and Rasiak could leave, wonderful.

The Mackem 06-08-2005 09:53 AM

Derby have to be one of the most confusing clubs ever.

Yeah he was good for Dundee but that was years ago. Plus you could make mistakes at Dundee and nobody cared. He is as good, if not better than Walker but you still could have done a lot better. Craig Levein has a fetish for the SPL. Doesn't he realise it's shite?

Wengerland 06-08-2005 12:08 PM

To be fair to him, it's the market he knows best, and is comparitively cheap. Some fans are getting concerned with the amount of players coming in from the SPL but personally i couldn't care as long as they're good, and Hughes and Maybury are awesome.

Mark de Vries hasn't been as good but i saw a few of his early sub appearances and he looked dangerous, just didn't seem to be fully fit but he returned to training this week, like a month before everyone else, so that's a good sign.

yianni 06-09-2005 01:13 PM

Fuck this is so frustrating! I'm listening to Greece-Ukraine and at halftime it's 0-0. Greece have absolutely fucking dominated the first half but have nothing to show for it. The closest the lads have come to scoring is when Stellios put one in the back of the net but it was offside. It's funny listening to the Greek commentators though, they go absolutely awol everytime the ball enters our forward half

yianni 06-09-2005 01:30 PM

FUCK ANOTHER OFFSIDE GOAL. Charisteas this time. I can see us copping a 0-1 after dominating the game.

yianni 06-09-2005 01:54 PM

FUCK 0-1 FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

Rob 06-09-2005 02:08 PM

Well that was a heap of the usual Scottish monkey shite

yianni 06-09-2005 02:11 PM

Football is a cruel game...Greece dominated play against Ukraine in Athens but could not put their chances away and after 82 minutes Basinas slipped allowing Ukraine to score and secure a 0-1 win. Ukraine are almost certainly going to be going to the World Cup. Greece now a point behind Turkey which secured a 0-6 win over Kazakhstan to move into 2nd place. Three games to play.

Mr. Monday Morning 06-09-2005 02:25 PM

Australia play New Zealand tomorrow

So bored I might even watch :'( :$

Wengerland 06-09-2005 02:55 PM

That Scottish game was painful to watch. England lost in the U20 semi final to France aswell, pretty terrible tactics from Taylor, but that's what i've come to expect. From what i saw Steven Taylor looked pretty good though, should be worth a starting spot for Newcastle as it's always nice to have a few local lads in the team.

And don't worry Bion, Argentina vs Brazil is on Bravo at the same time

packt up 06-09-2005 03:09 PM

Steven Taylor wooooo. Not only a fine defender but also a grade D actor for handballs

Ogen 06-09-2005 04:31 PM

Boring game for us but still we went and took our points. Not very conviningly mind but still.

Danny Electric 06-09-2005 04:54 PM

I want to go to that Iran game, who qualified for the World Cup tonight :)
Really want to go to Germany now.

Australia vs New Zealand in London...who'd have thought

Brilliant Roberto Carlos free kick pulls a goal back for Brazil...still 3-1 down though, but they have owned the second half.
