Day after, and I still can't believe the streak is over. Seems so surreal to me.

I hope Undertaker isn't done. He should get his win back on Lesnar next year, and then have a few more Manias if he has it in him. Would be an interesting time because him winning is no longer a given.

road doggy dogg 04-07-2014 10:14 AM

Man did you watch that match? He clearly does not "have it in him" anymore. That was a mercy killing if anything. Now that the streak is over, don't further taint it by clinging on way past his prime and leave people with a sour taste in their mouths when they think upon his last ever matches.

Emperor Smeat 04-07-2014 10:16 AM

Catching up to everything that happened after the Bryan/Triple H match but so far:

Didn't expect the Shield match to be that big of a squash. The 2 guys in the Triple powerbomb spot was nice.

:D Ceasaro winning the Andre battle royale. crowd Fandangoing during the match. The Kofi save spot was nice.

Bray getting the special entrance was great. Match was good but meh at Cena winning. Would have been a lot more interesting storyline-wise had Bray won but then again Cena basically shrugged off the fear/legacy aspect of it last week.

Innovator 04-07-2014 10:26 AM

I'm find with Cena winning. It is the first part of their feud and Bray's whole talking point was that he didn't care if he won as long as Cena became a monster. Cena showed flashes of it, which is a great chapter 1 to their feud.

Also, if you watched that entire show and felt the need to complain about Cena winning a middle of the card match, fuck off.

Emperor Smeat 04-07-2014 10:37 AM

http://www.tpwwforums.com/images/icons/icon8.gif Haven't seen the rest of the show yet although well aware of what happened with the streak match.

Lock Jaw 04-07-2014 10:42 AM

Looking forward to a big night for Cesaro on Raw tonight.

Heisenberg 04-07-2014 10:45 AM

I don't remember the last time I launched out of a seat like that, I'm pumped for RAW and the future in general

Lock Jaw 04-07-2014 10:46 AM

Really, though, Taker only has himself to blame for losing that match. He exploded the casket meant for Brock... He had nowhere to put him.

Hanso Amore 04-07-2014 11:06 AM

I think Bryan and takers shocking nights overshawdowed it but I think that cena wyatt match was amazing.

Wyatt is a star after that.

Heisenberg 04-07-2014 11:06 AM

Part of me wanted Stone Cold to stun Hogan last night, no reason of hate though. They trashed the mat with beer, had a good chuckle fella

Hanso Amore 04-07-2014 11:11 AM

Also, no one in the wwe "needs" a win and the whole notion is fucking silly.

Heisenberg 04-07-2014 11:21 AM

I think whoever was bragging about Taker in the ambulance saying their mom was transporting him just got their mom fired via HIPAA stipulations

The only good that came from this is that for once Cena didn't laugh and joke his way through the buildup.

For all the "UGH CENA WINS" jokes Cena loses quite a lot. More than enough. Basically...

This. Like I said, Hogan didn't NEED all those wins either. But he got them. And he should have. Because he was the star of the show. And the star of the show... wins. Not every match can be strictly about building the next big star in one shot.

Emperor Smeat 04-07-2014 12:25 PM

Streak match was good and shocked Lesnar actually won. Loved the post-match appreciation moment for Taker.

Diva's match was decent.

:D Bryan winning the belt. WWE title match was great. Ouch at Orton for the table spot. Crowd going bonkers at the end was amazing.

Mania was really good this year.

Fandango should have won that battle royale, but his greatest strength became a fatal flaw: his passion for dance.

Tazz Dan 04-07-2014 12:56 PM

Bray didn't need the win over Cena, he has plenty of time to build a record at Wrestlemania. I don't think Cena should have lost purely for the sake of 'putting a younger guy over'.

road doggy dogg 04-07-2014 12:58 PM

It depends on what they do with the feud. Does Wyatt continually play mind games with Cena until he eventually "breaks" him and pushes him over the edge? Say they have a few matches here and there or w/e and eventually Cena cracks and goes all Brock Lesnar on him, going full heel sith mode, then the Wyatts laugh and embrace the new monster Cena into their fold. LIGHTNING MODE

Exactly. There are more ways to make a star and get a heel over other than running roughshot over the top face.

What matters now is not the result from last night. Its the booking of Wyatt going forward. He could have won last night and the ball gets dropped.

If wins really related to elevation Kofi would have been in the main event. Instead he is on the show, the Main Event.

My Thoughts:

The group I watched with cracked up for 20 mins with the whole Hogan Silverdome botch and how Austin and Rock played off it

HHH/Bryan was great. The ending had me believing HHH was actually gonna win.
Cena/Wyatt was amazing psychology and the crowd singing along to "He's got the whole world..." is a top 5 moment of the night for me. Amazing stuff.

Sheild Squash match served it's purpose just like the Brock's squash at Rumble of Big Show. Builds up the winner to go on to higher levels.

Cesaro. My God Cesaro. The Battle Royal once it got down to about last 10 or so really caught fire and I really enjoyed it. I hope it does become a yearly deal. Gets guys on the show and can take the place of MITB at Mania as the start of a big Push for someone Post-Mania. Maybe put a Stip where the guy who wins gets a Title Shot at SummerSlam.

Taker/Brock was just meh till the end. Taker losing caused silence and shock that lasted pretty much all the way through Diva's match. Taker had to approve it, so it is what it is. As I put in other threads, I think we get 1 more Taker Mania match next year, probably have a build that starts tonight and he can go out a winner in his last match.

The Bryan payoff at the end of the night was beyond amazing. To think He's been cut from Mania, had an opening match that lasted 18 seconds to lose a Title then a Tag Match last year, it was a moment most Bryan fans like myself had been waiting for even further back then SummerSlam last year.

Fucking love Paul Heyman so much

Cool King 04-07-2014 07:27 PM

Well, I'm a little late but I quite enjoyed WrestleMania.

Quick thoughts:

The Tag Team Championship match was great. It was really enjoyable and it being elimination rules made it that much better. I reeeeeally wanted The Real Americans to win but now we all know why that didn't happen. Also, I didn't see what happened after the match though I did read about it.

Seeing Hogan, Austin and Rock in the ring together was quite something. It was a great way to open WrestleMania XXX. Also loved the banter between the three of them, mostly around Hogan's Silverdome mistake.

Daniel Bryan and Triple H was fantastic. A really enjoyable match and Triple H is still as great as ever. Also, his entrance was amazing. I love Triple H's WrestleMania entrances. Stephanie looked great last night too.

I was surprised that Kane & Co. jobbed so hard to The Shield, though The Shield did look like beasts last night, especially with the mask things they were wearing. The double double powerbomb was also a great spot. Loved that.

The Battle Royal was entertaining, though once I noticed that Cesaro was in the match, I just knew he was going to win. I can see now why there were three "unknown" entrants before the PPV started. Great way to win the match though with Cesaro bodyslamming Big Show out of the ring. The guy is clearly now moved on to bigger and better things. I'm sad to see the end of The Real Americans, but it'll be for the greater good. Love Cesaro. Though I do feel sorry for Swagger, but he has had his chances and sadly, he blew them.

Cena/Wyatt was pretty much your average Cena match to be honest. I did want Wyatt to win though but with what was going to happen next, I can see why that didn't happen.

The Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar. My thoughts on this aren't so "quick".

I just know every WWE fan in the entire world will want to voice their opinion on this one eventually. I don't know where to start to be honest. The match was pretty subpar when compared to what we've come to expect from an Undertaker match at WrestleMania, but at the same time, we have to remember, the man is just shy or 50 years old, he can't keep pulling of WrestleMania XXV type performances forever. Undertaker did look like he took a pretty bad bump near the beginning though when he fell off the ring. He landed on his side with some force and he legitimately looked like he was in pain. But when the three count happened, I won't lie, I was in shock. I was pretty much just like the crowd during the crowd shots. I was just staring at my screen like I had just gotten some sort of lobotomy. I was speechless.

I've always been 100% against the streak ever ending and this was my worst nightmare. When the three count happened, it took a few seconds for me to realise that a three count just happened. I thought to myself "was that supposed to happen?" and "No, it was a mistake, right? It's got to be a mistake.", but sadly it wasn't and seeing the 21-1 graphic appear just cemented it as fact.

I would love to see videos though of the reactions to this, especially the reactions from WrestleMania parties. I have to hand it to the WWE though, that certainly was a WrestleMania moment. It's something we'll all be talking about for years to come. Talking about what we were thinking, who we were with, how we were watching it when it happened, stuff like that.

It did seem to take the energy (if you want to call it that) out of the event for a while. Afterwards, everything, especially the crowd, just seemed to be lost up until the main event.

Though it does beg the question, Why Lesnar? Why give the honour to him? Unless The Undertaker wanted it to happen. But still, it makes no sense. Why give the honour to a part time guy who hasn't been on the full time roster in ten years? Since WrestleMania XX to be exact. Why not give the honour to a young superstar, someone like Randy Orton back at WrestleMania 21 or an accomplished and well respected veteran like Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXV/XXVI? If there had been a match against guys like those aforementioned, then it would make more sense. The young guy can carry that victory with him forever and it would really do wonders for his career in the WWE, or the veteran can have it as the last honour of their career and a great way to bow out of wrestling.

But again, for some reason, the honour goes to Brock Lesnar. Not that I'm complaining about it, I'm just a bit baffled as to why it was Lesnar, of all the WWE Superstars.

The Divas match was exactly what I expected it to be. A clusterfuck. AJ won, which makes me ask "What was the point?". What was the point of the match if nothing new came from it? For a few weeks now we've been teased with Tamina possibly turning on AJ, but it didn't happen last night. They never even acted like there was any distrust between them. They just acted like it never happened. No new rivalries were created between anyone and it was just one big mess. AJ cheated to win so I can see that leading to AJ/Naomi but wasn't that already happening? Or leading up to it before Naomi suffered the eye injury? Also, Cameron's straps snapping just added to the whole "oh God, just make it stop" feeling, but I did feel sorry for them having to follow Taker/Lesnar.

The Triple Threat main event was just like the opener, great. Daniel Bryan is on fire and we all knew he was going to win and it was going to be the fairy tale ending, but we didn't care. I do feel really bad for Orton though. His landing on the monitor looked insanely painful but he carried on like a champ. Respect to him. Though if anyone is to blame for that, it would be Batista, as he was dismantling the Spanish Announce Table while Orton was doing the same to the English table. Everyone knows that you throw the monitors away in front of the table, not behind it like Batista did. You don't throw it behind the table in case someone hurts themselves with it. Especially if said table is going to be used in a spot where someone goes through it. Also, I loved the reintroduction of Scott Armstrong. It just shows you that all this had been planned since September, and what great planning it was. I'm also curious to know if Stephanie legitimately hurt her ankle last night when Bryan jumped out the ring on to Triple H, Armstrong and Stephanie. It looked like she tried to get out the way, but was too late and Armstrong landed on her ankle. I can only imagine that wearing heels didn't help her.

But overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable WrestleMania. I look forward to watching Raw tonight and seeing the fallout from last night.

Kris P Lettus 04-07-2014 07:30 PM

Took a few videos on my phone. Even got the ending of the main event. Try to post the better ones at some point.

Razzamajazz 04-07-2014 07:43 PM

got pissed off there was a commercial instead of a shield entrance and went to put my laundry in the dryer and missed the match.

got pissed off at my xbox stream for lagging the hell out of the cena/wyatt match i couldn't get into it at all

literally started falling asleep during the lesnar taker match and just happened to be looking at my computer during the ending. that got me up pretty damn fast.

didn't watch a second of the divas match, and the main event was awesome.

Real Americans vs. Big Show and Mysterio.

Real Americans win after Cesaro hits a UFO on Mysterio. Big Show is angry after the match, starts attacking Rey. Coulter enjoys it because "Fuck Mysterio, he's Mexican." Out comes Hulk Hogan, to the shock of everyone Hogan fights off Big Show for a bit, attempts a slam but can't do it. He staggers, favoring his back. Show readies the WMD. He rears back and... Cesaro stops it. He fires a series of European Uppercuts, staggering the big man. Then, from nowhere, Body Slams the Big Show. From there, maybe a Giant Swing of like 3 revolutions, enough that the crowd sees him do it.

From here Coulter and Swagger come back into the ring, wanting to celebrate with a fine American like Hogan. Hogan wants none of it. Swagger pushes Hogan, Cesaro nails Swagger. Cesaro sends Swagger over the top. Hogan does the same to Coulter. Then Cesaro and Hogan pose together to "Real American."

Lame as hell, but whatever.

Mine was MUCH closer than Ziggles.

Lock Jaw 04-08-2014 04:58 PM

Forgot to mention how I found it incredibly weird how when Triple H kept using the crossface on Daniel Bryan, they didn't even mention that it was Daniel Bryan's own move.... and then later in the match when Daniel Bryan had in the Yes Lock.... they still didn't mention the name of the move!

Only finally actually called it the Yes Lock in the Triple Threat match.

Damian Rey 04-08-2014 06:39 PM

The more I have thought about it, the more and more I love that Lesnar, of all people beat the streak. I had initially felt Cena should be the guy, but seeing the reaction it garnered, and what a reaction, it's clear, in my opinion, Taker put over the right guy.

Lesnar has not been pushed as anything else other than a monster interested only in destroying people. Who better than to beat the streak? I do wish it was a better match, and that they tried to tell a story of Taker just not having it in him and eventually succumbing to that third F5. But the end was amazing. So fucking shocked.

Too bad we didn't get to see Taker last night. That crowd would have blown the roof off if he broke kayfabe and said farewell.

Cool King 04-08-2014 06:52 PM

Call me crazy, but I think the streak being broken will win a Slammy for "Shocker Of The Year", or whatever they call it this year.

Damian Rey 04-08-2014 07:00 PM

It honestly trumps anything else for moment of the year. As great it was seeing DB get the pop of his life to end the show, Lesnar getting the 3 was amazing. Just watched it again. Unreal.

Also, this gives Lesnar his Mania moment. He had the botched shooting star, to wrestling a match that was shit got completely shit on at Mania 20, to beating the fucking Undertaker at Mania 30.

Also, just nitpicking, but they should have really played up Taker not having it anymore. Lesnar should have destroyed him at every turn in the build. Heyman should have been hammering home how Lesnar destroyed Taker his rookie year.

Gonna nitpick here; the Yes Lock and Crossface aren't the same. They're very similar though. Bryan puts his right leg over the shoulder of his opponent, the Crossface has you kinda squeeze your legs together.
