Ain't nothing like the first sweep of the season. AND, Tex hits his first homer today.

Skippord 04-18-2010 08:46 PM

The Rockies really got fucked in the ninth today

Evil Vito 04-18-2010 10:01 PM

Good 'ol John Maine. 5 innings every goddamn time. Hope Stoner can carry the load.

thecc 04-18-2010 10:48 PM

lol, mets

Evil Vito 04-18-2010 10:51 PM

Meh, knew this was a game they'd probably lose. At least they got all the relievers they wanted to rest some rest.

Hope to see Ike Davis tomorrow.

Evil Vito 04-18-2010 10:59 PM

That being said, I think Jerry's got this next 10 game homestand. If he doesn't get at least .500 I'd can him and bring a new manager into the first Philly series.

DaveWadding 04-18-2010 11:45 PM

The next Mets manager: BOB MELVIN!

Evil Vito 04-18-2010 11:49 PM

I wouldn't really mind. Melvin sucks and everything but barring some huge turnaround he'd be a stopgap. Then it'd be time for BACKMAN '11

DaveWadding 04-18-2010 11:56 PM

The Felonious Wallace Backman.

Evil Vito 04-19-2010 12:00 AM

One thing I will say. Even if he's a shit manager...there is no way Melvin can hold worse press conferences than Jerry.

Well the Braves got the same treatment when we played SF, so you should pass it on to another team. And you still had chances to seal the deal.

Skippord 04-19-2010 02:42 AM

Well the Rockies probably didn't deserve to win the game

just a couple of really bogus calls

Supreme Olajuwon 04-19-2010 08:28 AM

Should probably go to one of these Reds/Dodgers games here this week. Not that I need much motivation to go to a game, but it's always an added bonus to go watch a Hall of Famer play.

Evil Vito 04-19-2010 01:51 PM

Ike Davis tonight

ClockShot 04-19-2010 02:51 PM

Tampa Bay is lookin' like the '08 team right now. Beat down Boston on Patriots Day today.

Droford 04-19-2010 03:06 PM

The Os are 2-11 and only 2 games behind boston for 4th place...HAHA

Innovator 04-19-2010 03:15 PM

Red Sox can't wait to toss all that pitching and defense money at Carl Crawford

Droford 04-19-2010 03:20 PM

and Adrian Gonzalez

Not if we get him first. ;)

ClockShot 04-19-2010 03:39 PM

Eric Gagne calls it a career.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-19-2010 04:44 PM

Red Sox struggling right now, good thing baseball doesn't matter until the summer

Hanso Amore 04-19-2010 04:52 PM

Yeah I am pretty sure Crawford will be a Yankees target. Just seems like the typical Yankee move.

I pray that the Mets make a move over the sox for GOnzo

Evil Vito 04-19-2010 04:56 PM

I still don't think Gonzo will be moved until the 2011 Trading Deadline. Pads really have no reason to move him before then unless they get absolutely blown away by an offer. He's their only draw.

Would LOVE Crawford though. Probably wouldn't happen as the Yanks and Sox might have a bidding war for him. Absolutely perfect player for Citi Field though.

Evil Vito 04-19-2010 08:06 PM

Somebody is getting suspended for PEDs, according to Will Carroll. No word on who yet but he's usually spot on with this.

Skippord 04-19-2010 08:30 PM

Gonna need to clone Ubaldo Jimenez to get any kind of consistent pitching here

You can have him. I'll take Gonzalez over Crawford.

I'm guessing Andre Ethier. That kid's been due to get busted for 2 years.

Evil Vito 04-19-2010 10:14 PM

I'll take a complete shot in the dark and say it's a big name. I'll go ahead and say.......Mark Teixeira.

Waiting for it to actually be Reyes or something. :o

Innovator 04-19-2010 10:17 PM

Solid match, great showing by Swagger

Nice debut for Ike Davis. Niese also pitched really well. Good to see some runs scored.

Hopefully Big Pelf can duplicate his last start.

Innovator 04-19-2010 10:58 PM

I stand by what I said

OssMan 04-19-2010 11:18 PM

Who came up with the name Big Pelf. Pretty sure I came up with it in my head but never said it. But maybe I heard it somewhere.

Sounds like a ridiculous mascot name. Like if the philly fanatic and Mr. Met had a goofy lovechild.

Evil Vito 04-20-2010 12:15 PM

I'm hearing that the suspended player is

A) A pitcher
and
B) Not from NY

Tbh, I think the main reason it would have been funny if it were a Yankee (esp a really high regarded one, like Jeter or Rivera) would be listening to Francesa. I guarantee he would turn a blind's eye to it. "They are under e-naw-muss presshuh". Whereas if it were a Met he'd rip them to shreds.

But anyways.....a non-NY pitcher eh? Come onnnnnnn Halladay!

It looks like the suspended player is an NL pitcher. It'd be ironic if it's Lincecum given his past marijuana conviction and that it is 4/20.

Miotch 04-20-2010 02:17 PM

Billingsly.

ClockShot 04-20-2010 02:29 PM

Cliff Lee's suspension has been dropped.
