GRONK SPIKE!!!!!!!

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-13-2015 11:27 PM

Big time shut down of a hot team. Pats take control back in the AFC.

Half owner. The town owns the other half in a similar deal to the Packers, so they can't be Modell'd again.

But yes, the front office are dickheads. But that seems to be par for the course in Cleveland sports. Let's get a corporate cash cow going with no effort, and when it doesn't work, reshuffle the deck until it does work.

That my squad got handled today by such a hapless trainwreck (that I also follow ever since their creboot") proves how huge of a dumpster fire the 9ers are this season.

:sigh: At least there's the Fiesta Bowl.

Emperor Smeat 12-13-2015 11:36 PM

:y: Pats win.

Ruien 12-14-2015 09:37 AM

Go Pats! Colts just need to win the next 2 weeks to get their playoff berth! Hopefully get the Jets or Chiefs in the first round too.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-14-2015 12:46 PM

Glad to "help" getting a most beatable team into the playoffs.

Ruien 12-14-2015 07:43 PM

STD, I am 100% certain Brady would prefer if you were a Jets fan.

Both their #1 & #2 is out for the season while NBC had some chart up during the Texans game that had Brady as their top carrier left before Pats started to use Brandon Bolden more.

owenbrown 12-15-2015 07:01 PM

can the NFC East and the AFC South stop trying to compete to be the worst division in the NFL?

Nark Order 12-15-2015 08:06 PM

The 9ers are still not good. I have watched every frame of every game this season. Feel like nothing is worth it anymore.

NFL announced small rule tweaks for the playoffs mostly to help for stuff not normally covered by NFL's replay HQ.

The NFL's replay HQ won't be allowed to overturn calls not allowed by instant replay but refs can ask for help to make sure they got other stuff done correctly.

This will not include the ability to call or change a foul, or otherwise become involved in on-field judgment calls that are not subject to the current Instant Replay system.

Also NFL will be punishing teams more harshly if they try to get around the concussion protocol. The recent Case Keenum situation with the Rams being the reason why the penalties are going to be a lot more stricter from now on.

NFL putting next year's Thursday Night games up for bidding. Biggest changes is the possibility of no NFL Network exclusive games and streaming services being allowed to show all games. NFL is trying to push to see if they can co-host a playoff game but not expected to be approved by whoever wins the bids.

Also possible for one network to buy out all the games instead of splitting it with other networks.

Quote:

The NFL has told TV networks that it is ready to accept bids for the “Thursday Night Football” package that, once again, will be for just two years, according to several sources. The league last week sent formal RFPs to the usual TV partners and outlets -- CBS, ESPN, Fox, NBC and Turner -- that outlined the NFL’s plan to sell a one-year deal with a league option for a second year. The league also sent RFPs to several digital companies, like Google, Yahoo, Apple and Amazon, to stream the entire Thursday night schedule on a non-exclusive basis, sources said. The league’s initial plan would have the digital streams serve as a simulcast of the television production -- with the same ads and in-game production features. The league expects bidding to start in the low $300M for the television package, with a nominal escalator in year two, sources said. CBS currently is paying around $300M per season for the Thursday night package.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-18-2015 04:49 AM

If they really wanted good bids wouldn't they want to put non shit games on? Bucs Vs. Rams as the first game since the announcement? Jesus Christ. It's like opening a fancy restaurant and then only serving hot dogs and hamburgers.

road doggy dogg 12-18-2015 08:21 AM

Well contrary to what this season would try to have you believe, you can't simply have New England and Denver in every prime time slot

Heisenberg 12-18-2015 09:17 AM

Rams v.s. Bucs was pretty sweet last night. Winston put over the Rams D.

The color rush jerseys are an abomination. I thought it could have been cool when I first heard about it but I assumed it would just mean teams wear their home jerseys on the road. I never thought the jerseys and pants would be the same colors across the board. Terrible. Looked like ketchup and mustard yesterday.

The 10+ years if ignoring linebackers in the draft might have something to do with it

"Is it the gloves?!" suspended one game by the NFL. Not a shock Beckham Jr got suspended.

Emperor Smeat 12-21-2015 04:33 PM

Odell Beckham Jr suspended 1 game by the NFL probably due more because of the blatant helmet-to-helmet hit he gave to Josh Norman. NFL hinted he should have been tossed from the game because of it.

According to reports, the Panthers pre-game antics towards him were what likely set him off during the game.

Panthers players are claiming the bats are not meant to be taken seriously and just a pre-game gag they like to do. Also claimed nobody had a problem with them having bats around until yesterday's game.

Fine with OBJ getting suspended. He deserves it.

Will be pissed off if he appeals and it ends up carrying into next year. Aka the next time the Giants will play a meaningful game.

Charles Woodson has announced that he will retire at the end of the year.

He should have a spot in Canton waiting for him in 2021. Tough to see him not being a first ballot HOFer.

ClockShot 12-22-2015 06:26 AM

18 seasons in the game. One of the last few of the 90's old guard still hanging around if I'm not mistaken.

Bet in a few seasons the game will be loaded up with millennial picks. Which is quite scary.

road doggy dogg 12-22-2015 08:18 AM

Is Woodson still the only defensive player to win the Heisman?

Evil Vito 12-22-2015 08:59 AM

Yep, and even at that he was a two-way player.

It's been exclusively QB and RB since. There's a natural bias towards those positions at the college level.

As always there are bound to be plenty of replacements due to playing in the Super Bowl/injury/making up other excuses to pull out.

Not sure why they even do voting for OL/FB/P/ST since there really aren't many quantifiable stats to go off of...at least not ones that anybody will bother to look up. Ends up being pretty much the same people every year in those spots.
