Did you guys check out the Official HOF thread? 'cause this is a wrestling forum. How about that :)

Larry's speech was perfectly fine. Jericho was mad that he couldn't use the Name Living Legend because he didn't ask either Bruno or Larry for permission before using it. Jericho was in the wrong.

ron the dial 03-29-2015 05:02 AM

there was an old, smart guy named sigmund freud, and sigmund came up with the idea that dreams become the reality of your wishes.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-29-2015 05:06 AM

Rikishi set off the right with a great passionate speech and I have to say this is probably the best Hall of Fame Ceremony in a long time (possibly ever.)

I'd say the Dana Warrior/Daniel Bryan/Father was the highlight of the show. Followed by Lanny Poffo's poems and acceptance speech for the Macho Man.

I loved Madusa's speech and how defiant she was about what she did and the legacy. Wished she had talked "give divas a chance", but it was really awesome.

Larry's was good even though he got a little bit off track. Loved his message about his dream and to make sure everybody follows theirs.

Bushwackers was really good as well. Really loved that they didn't buy into the WWE video packages that disregarded so much of their career. The Flag Bearer did a great job introducing him.

Nash wasn't that great because of time restraints still good for what it was and the time they were given to wrap up the show.

Tatsumi should have also been allowed to say something in Japanese too. Flair really should have spoken a big longer since he knew Tats wouldn't be able to say much clearly in English.

Fignuts 03-29-2015 05:26 AM

Bushwackers had me in tears.

So good.

Around this time of the year I get to thinking about future HOF inductees, and I wanted to look and see who on the current roster might get in.

Based on who WWE has listed in the "Current" section of their roster on WWE.com, I could see all of the following going in at some point:

Big Show
Brock Lesnar
Chris Jericho
Christian
Goldust
JBL
John Cena
Kane
Mark Henry
Mr. McMahon
Paul Heyman
Randy Orton
The Rock
Stephanie McMahon
Sting
Triple H
The Undertaker
William Regal
Zeb Colter

Many of them would appear to be locks already based on resumes alone so barring them pissing off the office they have a great chance at being inducted. If they want to continue to induct a woman every year they're bound to run low on candidates eventually, and Steph is definitely deserving assuming they don't mind putting in more McMahon family members. Vince has said he will never agree to go into the HOF himself but I couldn't help but put him on the list anyway...probably would be a posthumous induction, but I mean...it's fucking Vince.

A bunch of them spent a lot of time in the main event. I seem to remember a debate on here a few months back about the merits of Christian as a HOFer. Personally I believe they'll put him in as a midcard induction one year, ditto for Henry and Goldust in different classes. Lots of longevity there. Regal too, actually. He was always excellent, respected by everybody, and has been an asset both in and out of the ring.

Zeb, I imagine, would go in a few years after his character ends on TV and they'd just put him in as Dutch Mantell. With WWE not being afraid to bring up history outside of their own company he really contributed in a lot of different ways around the wrestling world.

Brock I guess would be slightly controversial given that he only was on the roster full-time for 2 years, but when all is said and done he'll have main evented multiple Manias, broke the Streak, had lengthy title runs, been a draw for a different audience, etc.

I actually think you are setting the bar quite high. I think other almost certainties would be The Miz (headlined Mania, WWE Champ, IC Champ), Sheamus (WWE Champ, office fav) and people like Ziggler and Swagger have already accomplished more than the likes of Rikishi, so a decent future on the roster should secure their places some day too.

Can't imagine anyone begrudging Brock with all he has done and the media attention he has garnered. He is a lock for me.

Would love to see the Dudley's back for a final run, now they are unattached, it would be a shot in the arm to the tag division and could induct them alongr with a last TLC match at Mania next year.

Watching the HOF, Jimmy Uso is clearly the HBK of the Usos.

Also Rikishi amentioning Manu and getting Zero reaction from the crowd was funny

Come on guys, I know the show has been on and stuff, but you know the corteous rule. No "Spoilers" for 48 hours for those who may not have seen the show yet. Some posters still come on the forum to talk in other threads and don't want things being ruined, it's always been the rule here, and I'll make sure that it is continued to be followed.

I'm so pumped for RAW tonight. After pulling out all the stops last night, I am curious to see what surprises are in store for us.

Innovator 03-30-2015 04:11 PM

What I expect:

Rollins being treated as a conquering hero.

Sheamus Brogue Kicking Bryan.

What I want:

Demon Balor

Jordan 03-30-2015 04:19 PM

Would be interesting if Sheamus goes after Cena, leaving Bryan to feud with Ziggler and Bad News. Though I am expecting Cena and Rusev to have a match at Extreme Rules.

Jordan 03-30-2015 04:20 PM

I also really hope that at some point in the next three years they book a solid program with Orton and Lesnar.

Mr. Nerfect 03-30-2015 08:20 PM

I want to see Jericho vs. Lesnar, with Brock being pissed off Jericho invented the Money in the Bank gimmick that cost him the title. :shifty:

Hideo Itami was the one guy I had ruled out from winning that tournament. In hindsight, it made perfect sense he won. He seems to be finding his "WWE self" in NXT, and I think that when he is ready, he will be ready big time.

There are far worse things the company could do at this point than have Hideo Itami built as a guy training for a huge match against Big Show down the line. Use the Floyd Mayweather storyline they did to get some ideas. Have Big Show mock Itami by getting on his knees and have Itami KO him with one kick or something.

I think it would work if they did two main events for each Takeover, cycling through as you suggested. So, in each three-month period, each of the three titles is defended twice.

Mr. Nerfect 03-31-2015 03:26 PM

On another note: The weird sort of disconnect that exists between NXT Hunter and main roster Hunter is kind of silly. In NXT he plays this inspiring, talent-loving, super-cool boss. Then he's The Authority on RAW.

Given the sort of guys that NXT Hunter backs, the feud against Daniel Bryan almost makes no sense.

SPOILER: show
CJ Parker apparently asked for, and was granted his release from NXT. He wrestled twice over the weekend, on Saturday, and Sunday, so it seems he left on good terms, and could return in the future.

I've worked for some publicly traded companies, and Wall Street is 1000x worse than the IWC. They're even further removed from reality.

It's not even whether you have positive results or not. Hell, half the time it's not even if you meet their "calculated" but ultimately pulled-out-of-their-ass estimates that have no basis in anything real, although that helps. A lot of times it's just perception and whether or not they like your company for a thousand different reasons. It's really frustrating.

The subscriber number went up 30% in two or three months. Sure, it was for the biggest show of the year, but 30% is a significant number, especially when you look at the initial numbers for last year at this time of year, but Wall Street people seem to think it should be doing forty million subscribers because they have no idea what the wrestling business or its fanbase size is like.

Really frustrating, and hopefully doesn't dissuade WWE from their current creative direction.

That said, John Cena will be champion by the end of April.

The WWE needs to bring back Kaientai for the WWE's Network launch in Japan. This much is obvious.

Mr. Nerfect 03-31-2015 09:52 PM

They also need to debut a new Bollywood gimmick who has grand entrances every week. If they can't find an Indian guy they like enough for this, Damien Sandow can beat The Miz and then go Bollywood.

Investors can be really shitty at times especially if too many of them are speculative ones since they are there just for the quick buck.

To be fair though, this year's drop was smaller than last year and the WWE probably hasn't regained all the trust back from their antics and false promising done last year.

Seth Rollins is now the second ever "Latino" heavyweight champion in the WWE.

GD 03-31-2015 10:47 PM

Make it third. Just realized that Rey Mystery was also a WWE Champion for like 2 hours.

His name is Colby Lopez. According to Wikipedia, he is of Armenian descent and his last name comes from his Latin-American stepfather. Explains his awesome tan. Still wonder which side of the family has giraffe genes in it.

But seriously, I love me some Seth Rollins. He reminds me of late 90s/early 00s HHH combined with HBKs athleticism.

Miz goes Bollywood would be hilarious but we already had Khali and Mahal do the Bollywood connection previously so maybe we need to look elsewhere.

Pretty sad to see Scott Steiner was on the HOF ban list to even attend motherfucka! They let a known pedobear attend and not BIG PoPPA PUmP? Get the fuck out of here. You want to come in my ring and challenge me to a match at Wrestlemania 32? I'll end it. Anyways, just coming in to say hi. I'm watching over everything right now. I'm inside the forum, Champions.

100% agree, but hey, it won't happen.

Apparently Smackdown's commentary team is Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips, and Jerry Lawler.

So, that at least confirms that Byron Saxton wasn't immediately incinerated by Vince McMahon's incandescent rage when he went backstage.

Am I the only one who sees he was supposed to be doing it low-key? It was a tense situation and his colleague had just been F5ed and everybody else around him had been carted off.

There's being low key and then there's calling the PGA tour.
