Do you believe no one on Tha Pats has a criminal history or a story like this? I guess you may actually believe that seeing how dense you are.

Evil Vito 02-14-2016 11:21 AM

ESPN employees have been told to not comment on the Peyton story at all, and there is nothing about it listed on their website. Go figure.

Emperor Smeat 02-14-2016 03:17 PM

A few teams are currently rumored to be interested in Denver's Brock <s>Lesnar</s> Osweiler while Denver is rumored to be hoping Peyton declines coming back next season. Denver is also rumored to be a bit worried on how expensive it might become to keep Osweiler if a bidding war starts.

Evil Vito 02-14-2016 05:16 PM

Jesus...finally finished reading the official court documents.

It's bad. Not really much more to say. If you assume this is a case of "he just did something dumb in college" then I challenge you to read the whole thing and see if you come to that same conclusion. I could maybe buy that he just made a really stupid mistake had he fessed up to it right away. But the lengths he, his dad, and the school seemed to go to to try and make sure this never saw the light of day is pretty damn disturbing.

Evil Vito 02-14-2016 05:17 PM

And fuck USA Today and whoever had these documents for 20 years but never felt the need to release them. They almost certainly just felt Peyton was too popular to take down while he was still playing.

We had a murderer under contract when he killed at least two people. You are the person saying it's not a big deal because of Colt/Peyton fandom. It's a big deal. It didn't happen when he was a Colt so you could have said that instead of saying "it's not a big deal."

Ruien 02-15-2016 03:06 AM

It isnt. He did something stupid and then tried to cover it up. Seriously, he djd one stupid thing when he was in college. I guess you were a saint for your entire life.

Ruien 02-15-2016 03:38 PM

Meijers just trolled me. Seen what looked like to be Colts t shirts in the clearance bin for 3 dollars. Picked two out that I liked and then realized they were Lions t shirts.

road doggy dogg 02-15-2016 04:31 PM

oh good, NFL offseason is upon us so this thread is going to be utter trash for a few months

Priority right now is retaining Von Miller. That's gonna take up a truckload of cash as it is.

Might not have enough to keep BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROCK OS-WEILER if that's the case.

Even if you were to write the incident itself off as some dumb college prank, that doesn't excuse the character assassination that the Manning camp attempted to put on the woman after it was over.

Can you link me to some of this heinous stuff @vito cruz

I'll read them and share my thoughts

The 74 page document is embedded right in the middle of the article and you can flip through accordingly.

I dunno

pretty boring, nice@ when she was giving him a physical and then he put his dick and balls on her face

Evil Vito 02-15-2016 07:13 PM

The Saxon affidavit and letter were probably the most telling things to me. Peyton really could have just apologized for the whole thing straight away and got a slap on the wrist (as is the case with important college athletes) and that would have been the end of it. Don't really see why he would go out of his way to try to bury this woman's reputation even years after everything was settled.

I would put more of that on Archie and his coaching staff at the time.

Evil Vito 02-16-2016 07:47 PM

Yeah, I'm sure Peyton had nothing to do with it whatsoever. Especially not when he decided to criticize her in his own book years after everything had been completed and a settlement reached.

Evil Vito 02-16-2016 07:48 PM

Colts and Packers announced for the Hall of Fame Game. Whoopdee fuck.

Rodgers has already sarcastically said he's stoked for it. He had to have known Green Bay would be playing with Favre headlining the HOF class though. They nearly always try to involve the teams that figure will draw the most fans to the HOF ceremony based on who's going in.

Droford 02-16-2016 07:51 PM

Cant wait for the Ravens in The HOF game in 2018

Emperor Smeat 02-16-2016 08:55 PM

Couple of recent NFL news:

* Kurt Cousins recently broke off talks with the Redskins in regards to a contract extension. Seems that neither side is close to agreeing to an amount and the Redskins are worried about having to use the franchise tag ($20 million) just to keep him off the market.

* Pats Jerod Mayo recently announced his retirement with part of the reason due to his injury prone body and the other part due to him probably getting released because of cap reasons ($11.4 million plus the $4 million roster bonus owed).

* Based on tax filing rules, Roger Goodell made around $34 million in 2014 as commish of the NFL. Due to the NFL dropping their tax exempt status last year, they are no longer required to publicly revealed how much money their commish makes every year and won't for what Goodell made last season. In terms of CBA stuff, Goodell has made around $142 million since the last CBA deal done in 2011.

Putting more blame on someone else is still admitting there is blame on the other person. So, ya.

Ruien 02-16-2016 08:59 PM

Also in love with the three times I turned ESPN on reporters are saying they should be cover in the Manning story and he should not get a pass from the media. No shit ESPN. Maybe you should have been on the story the entire time if you feel so deeply about it.

Not gonna lie, I kinda regret not heading to Canton for induction weekend in 2014. Mainly for Strahan of course because of how cool it was to watch someone where I saw basically his whole career go into the HOF. I couldn't really care less about the actual game but if I was going to travel all that way it'd have been nice to see my team while I was there.

I doubt Coughlin's eventual induction someday will be enough to get me to go. Maybe in like 10 years when Eli goes in and gives the most hilariously awkward HOF speech of all time.

Evil Vito 02-18-2016 10:44 AM

Jared Allen announces his retirement after 12 seasons.

Heisenberg 02-19-2016 01:59 PM

One of the few Panthers I respected. He was also a Viking, but a very respectable Viking. He was like Rob Riggle's athletic doppelganger

Evil Vito 02-19-2016 03:35 PM

Rams are going into rebuild mode as they head into LA. They've cut Chris Long, James Laurinaitis, and Jared Cook. Frees up $24 million in cap space.

Steelers TE Heath Miller has retired.

Innovator 02-19-2016 03:43 PM

Wouldn't be mad at the Giants taking a look at Laurinaitis

ClockShot 02-19-2016 05:06 PM

Damn. I wouldn't mind Lil' Animal being a Bronco. He'd fit right in, spiked pads and all.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-20-2016 12:01 AM

That's the kind of player the Pats usually sign. Veteran who got cut getting another chance to prove himself to be the man to get a huge deal the next year with another team.

Emperor Smeat 02-24-2016 03:21 PM

Colin Kaepernick staying with the 49ers at least for one more season after the team picked up his option for 2016.

When is Josh Gordon eligible to be reinstated

Droford 02-25-2016 06:45 PM

Ravens are going to kick the tires on Trent Richardson. My guess is they're no good but who knows

Emperor Smeat 02-25-2016 06:52 PM

Couple of NFL news stuff:

Johnny Manziel currently looking at a court trial in the near future in regards to his domestic violence charges since the Dallas police have requested for a grand jury to hear his case.

Day after the 49ers decided to pick up his option for next season, Colin Kaepernick is asking for a trade out of San Francisco. Been rumored the team was going to trade him away regardless of the announcement since that was a big reason why his option was picked up.

Evil Vito 02-25-2016 07:10 PM

I don't love the idea, but it would probably be league minimum for a year.

Yeah, it's still not a great plan.

Nark Order 02-27-2016 01:53 PM

I dont really blame Kap for wanting to leave. He's been treated like garbage and blamed entirely for a failing offensive system that was only partly his fault.

Yeah, the tires were never the problem. Seeing two brick walls with a 100 foot gap between them and then driving directly into one was. How the fuck is he still even on any team's radar? lol

Evil Vito 02-27-2016 08:23 PM

What was already expected is now going to become official. Peyton Manning will announce his retirement this week.

Evil Vito 02-29-2016 02:00 PM

Tom Brady agrees to a 2-year extension through his age 42 season.

Congratulations Patriots, 2016-19 AFC East champions.
