Honestly though Vito, I know you're all about booking your own federation (I mean "Universe"), but if you wanted to rely on the game to do it, would go not believe the Universe mode is version 0.2 rather than being a finished product?

Received it yesterday right before I had to go to work and pull a long night shift ugh but today I played the crap outta Universe Mode and managed to unlock a few things. Controls took quite a bit to get used to admittedly I lost my first couple matches on normal but I was using Zack Ryder at his default 75 overall being spammed by the CPU as Drew Mcintyre. Anyhow going back to unlockables there seems to be a lot of confusion and different scenarios on how peeps have been able to get them is there any sites that have definite solutions yet?

How is the universe mode this year? I feel like the one last year left a lot to be desired. Worth the purchase price?

I don't want to know spoilers per se, but how do you unlock characters?

I figured when they come out as Mystery Opponents you would have to win as them or defeat them to unlock them, so far I beat Goldust with Cena, beat Taker as Austin and lost to someone as Smash but none of them unlocked.

Win the unified tag titles (match has to be booked by the game, not by you)

Everyone else is unlocked through RTWM

Or purchase an all unlock key in the shop.

Layla just beat McCool in a non-title match. Layla then celebrated with everyone's favourite randomly appearing belt, the World Heavyweight Championship. What.

So, I said this about last year about it being realistic with Cena, and they did it again this year. 15 minute iron man match, 10 minutes of me beating him down, then the last 5 minutes was all him.

:wtf: Wow...just wow. As much as I want it for my collection, I think I might wait a bit. I can understand some play mechanics bugs, but these smaller 'attention to detail' things shoulda been ironed out before release. As much as they talked it up, it should have been much better.

<font color=goldenrod>Managed to get online long enough to download some of the highly rated CAWs on the front page. Angle, Jericho, RVD, Sting, and Hunico. I didn't preview any of them because I got kicked out the one time I tried, I just downloaded them and looked after. I'm not too impressed with the Sting, but the others are very good. Jericho's face is dead on, and he has his 2007 return attire.

The game immediately booked Hunico in a match against Justin Gabriel. After winning, Hunico went to Pillmanize Gabriel when RVD (who I had set as a legend) returned to rescue him. Decided to throw them in a tag team to bolster the division. I've now got enough teams to have 2 sets of tag belts...pretty annoying that even with two sets of belts, they're technically not brand specific and teams can continue to wrestle on both shows/compete for the other show's tag belts. It's also completely stupid that you have to have all THREE sets of tag belts on active Raw/SD guys even if one or two of those belts are meant to be inactive.</font>

Decided to interfere in a match (Orton v Sheamus), came to ringside, jumped in, hit finisher on Orton, Sheamus covered, took the option to wake the ref, little cutscene............and Orton is now pinning Sheamus.

Yeah, when interfering doesn't lock up my XBox, that happens a lot.

So...if I want one specific guy to win, I need to attack him, have his opponent pin him, then wake the ref. Makes sense.

What are the chances of thos niggles being resolves?

I like it more now I'm used to the controls, spending ages on my CAW's moveset helped me to remember all the buttons.

I also had the phantom WHC turn up, this time Kelly Kelly celebrating with it in a cutscene before Natalya comes out to smash her up.

Also had Yoshi Tatsu critically injured on Superstars, only to appear as a mystery opponent against the Undertaker on the following Smackdown main event, lol.

I haven't gotten deep into Universe yet, but Brock Lesnar did return on Superstars by attacking Yoshi Tatsu. The only bugs/complaint I have ran into is the backstage brawl AI. I do know that I hope I never have another 4-on-1 thing. Fucking annoying...

Question about Universe. Let's say I were to make all the females inactive, including the champions. Are there any Universe cut scenes/scenerios that would actually use females, assuming they're not in a stable or a manager? Or would I be rid of the division entirely?

Also, what does happen when you make a current champion (who holds a brand-aligned title) inactive? Is that not possible?

I put them all on an inactive brand (Bitches) and every week it will book Layla/McCool with a run-in by Kelly Kelly.

You can make champions inactive, but they'll still be booked at the PPV... Much like the injured Hasney is right now...

Dunno about you but somehow I unlocked Stone Cold Steve Austin by winning the WHC at Wrestlemania he came out and beat me up and they annouced he was signed to a contract.

Yeah that is what happened to me with Stone Cold, only it was at Night of Champions or something.

Stone Cold has not signed a contract with me, Nor have demolition. But both appeared at the rumble. I thought I'd have unlocked them cos I beat them, but alas, still not in the roster.

In other news, I was playing as Bertie, and I got demolished by Cena, cos I just aint got used to this game yet. Meaning Cena is my champ :rant:

The only bug I have noticed is when there is a mystery opponent and you choose to play as them to 'unlock' them (for example ??? vs Undertaker on Smackdown). ??? ended up being Stone Cold so I choose to compete as Austin. I beat Undertaker easily however Austin is not unlocked. Not 100% sure if this is a bug that he wasn't unlocked or just that's not how he is unlocked.

Other than that I have not experienced any weird cut scenes or other glitches that people have mentioned.

Seems like the weirdest/funniest bugs ever in this game.

Thought manual targeting was just shit, but it switches to auto targeting in Universe mode unless it's a match you booked yourself. What in the hell?

Kinda blows..it seems like they fixed/added so much stuff..
but did they not do any testing? some of the bugs found are absurd.
Fixed a ton of issues and left a ton of minor details that ultimately semi-ruin some aspects of the game.

Can anyone get on Community Creations yet? Mine just stops loading anything (although it doesn't crash) on the background image.

These glitches have been in for years, before last year even.

I don't remember them in earlier games bar last year, but with a year to fix it, they've made them more common it seems.

I've just started the Royal Rumble Winners choice. I'm watching the Raw champion take on the WCW champion right on on Raw and I have the opportunity to stick either one of them with a finisher.

Think it only happens with a CAW.

Good job I did all that choosing who to face at WM and having a storyline about it as I'm now facing the other champ. Brilliant once again.

Honestly though, if you want that much control over what happens, just do Create-A-Story.

Not really, I don't want the control, I want the game to do what it says on the box and book me a coherent wrestling show. I could do without the Rumble choice, but don't give it to me and then ignore it.

This is the first Smackdown game I've actually spend cash on since Here Comes The Pain and it was based on the promise of SD V R 11's physics and universe mode. Admittedly I'm at fault for wanting the game based on their promises of saying the first Universe mode was a beta and that they've fixed it now. Instead what they've done is a couple of minor tweaks so they can put features out to the press and left it in the same buggy incoherent mess it was last year.

Universe mode to me is as bad as the servers. It just doesn't work as advertised.

The server will always be shit I bet. It's the same with FIFA on Ultimate Team, the server just doesn't work for about 3 months after launch and that's happened 3 years running.

I was in a F4W at erm....Fatal 4 Way...and the CPU put himself through the tables and they didnt refresh with new ones, I even looked under the ring too. Might of been a glitch tho?

Just got this and have only played for maybe an hour or two all-in. I'm impressed with the graphics and the gameplay is good - it reminds me a bit of the old N64 THQ games.

I irish whipped someone into the ringside barricade and they went straight through the barricade and kept running through the crowd. Then they walked back to ringside area, straight through the barricade.

Only other glitch I've seen is some lagging during entrances/show openings while panning through the crowd.

So I finished the Villiian portion of the RTWM storyline in one session and I must say I have never hated Cena more than I have before at the EC PPV. Mind you it wouldn't have been so bad if the objective had given the proper instructions telling me to defeat Daniel Bryan OUTSIDE of the ring yeesh! Must admit though I enjoyed playing through that part I hope the Outsider one is just as good if not better cuz me think the final act is gonna suck by comparison and will be full of cliches and be predictable but I could be wrong about that.

Is this pin system new? I don't ever recall it in past games. I suck at it too. Is there a trick to it? I release when it says to but no luck...

Only prob I've had is with my CAW. When I'm a double champion I wind up without any entrance music. Even when I use a regular wrestler's music I come out to no music at all.

Only real glitches so far have been fighting in the EC during RTWM and Cena and I randomly ended up fighting outside the chamber for a bit.

Also during Universe, I had a match as Taker vs Christian and randomly Big Zeke was in the ring but did absolutely nothing. Just stood there. I could hit him but he did nothing. Then the cutscene after was Kane and Zeke beating me down.

Had a brief floating issue as well during a TLC with Punk v Rey, but so far that's all I've encountered.

Enjoying it for the most part.

The Villain storyline is great so far (and is virtually what I did with my Universe on last years game) however I'm not a fan of the on-the-rails aspect of RTWM. Beat this guy up, them press a button to enter a cut scene. Seems every match ends that way and you never get to actually win the match.

I loved the villain storyline, the outsider one seems like it is taking forever. I don't mind the action button to end matches. It gives you a more entertaining finish. It's better than losing matches on purpose or having no option but to lose the match.

The server techs are probably on holiday. Should be fixing it this week hopefully.

I finished all 3 Road to WrestleManias in less than a week, and I pray they cut down on all the fucking 3-on-1 and 4-on-1 backstage brawls. Fucking hell...

So, my Universe mode has gone terribly wrong.

Cara is injured. Miz is injured. Rhodes and Barrett are injured. Lesnar more or less killed Bourne and I don't expect to ever see him come back, but to make it all even worse, Morrison just won the WWE Title off CM Punk at Royal Rumble.

Only discovered it because I'm on MITB now and I turned all of the participants to be SmackDown guys and simmed. R-Truth won MITB, outlasting Miz, DiBiase, Goldust, Rhodes, and Mason Ryan. R-Truth was then listed as Mr. Money in the Bank.

I decided to book a Raw MITB as well, figuring I'd give the winner a title match at some point even though there is technically only one Mr. MITB in the game. Christian won over McIntyre, Morrison, Kofi, Bourne, and Zack Ryder. However, CHRISTIAN is now listed as Mr. Money in the Bank instead of R-Truth. Not a big deal, as it has the same effect and it just means Truth will have a regular match whereas Christian can use the cheap cash in animation. Just figured I'd throw it out there for anybody planning on doing two MITBs like I did.</font>

Are you sure it's any 6 man ladder match or only 6 man ladder matches at MITB?

Stolen, but made me chuckle. Only thing annoying me at the moment. Managed to download one CAW, not been able to connect since...

During the HIAC match in RTWM pretty much every time i whipped someone towards the cage they'd go through it and the crowd and just keep running,had to restart it 4 or 5 times. Only major glitch i've had so far.

I was finally able to sit and play the game after Gamefly sent it to me on Monday yet it didnt arrive in my mail till Saturday.

Does the game seem a little laggy to anyone else? It feels like when I hit the button to punch it takes a second before my person does it.

Only other small problem i have is my guy never hits a ground attack because it just doesnt connect or it pushes him out of the way.

Been having an easier time in CC. Takes a couple tries to initially get to the search screen, but once I've gotten there, I've been able to download 5-10 items before it kicks me off again. At least it's improving.

Done a few weeks of Universe today, enjoying it much more than last year, despite the bugs.

One random occurance today was winning a match and then the "this match is restarting as a submission match" cutscene, so I won the match again, and then I get the "submission match" restart cutscene again! I hit the button to take me to this repeat match and it dumps me back in the main menu with my win counted from the first match.

Also in my custom entrance movie, Christian has a skeletor face.

Edit - Oh yeah, almost forgot about playing a match as Jack Swagger, halfway through a cutscene starts where I get disqualified, but then the match carries on only I have a broken arm that is swinging wildly about, lol.

I've had to restart several matches, but the bugs so far have been more funny than gamebreaking.

I think my game might be bugged. Ever since Morrison won the WWE Title off Punk at RR, I can't get him to drop the title. He wins every damned title defense I book him in. I book him in a title match every RAW and Superstars, and of course the PPV's. Just now he beat Lesnar, Big Show, and HHH in a fatal four way at NoC. I used the Raw MitB winner (Ziggler) and the SD MitB winner (Dibiase) on him and he STILL kept the title.

I'm really starting to wonder if somehow the game made Morrison the new Cena or something.

To delightfully top it all off, my save game has corrupted.

That's scary, you may have to play it yourself to make him lose. One bug I'm having is that Universe is booking the same matchs one Raw and Smackdown every week, though I'm only at the RR now.

Don't understand why created superstars are tied to the main save game, but stories, arenas etc. are not. Makes no sense.

Can't have the phrase "The carpets don't match the drapes" in a created story, it seems.

Not sure what's wrong with the phrase "Looks like he came up short against Yoshi Tatsu"

I found out my story wouldn't work because I had downloaded superstars in it. I've replaced them with my own created (sucky) Hardy Boyz. All my created superstars are in the story, just lost during corruption.

If you want to find it though, it's got the keywords TPWW, Chavo and Jobbing on 360. Give it half hour while it uploads though.

Scratch that, server died halfway through.

I haven't bought the game yet but with all the problems listed, would it be better to just wait for a patch to be released or wait till the game goes to the discount bin?

I was going to get it during Black Friday but ended up missing out on grabbing a copy.

Overall, I'm having fun, but there are a lot of truly excellent games out right now. I'd get one of them, and wait for the patch.

Honestly, I haven't encountered many glitches. As long as they fix the CC server issues, and fix the problem with editing matches in Universe, I will officially love this game.

Also, I need entrance themes. Where do I go, that has a large selection of WWE, WWF, WCW, ECW, TNA, and Japan themes?

Just rip some themes from old WWF/WWE/WCW CD's if you have any, to your HD (assuming you're playing on 360?), then create a "playlist" for each theme separately. So fucking pissed that I don't have a copy of the ThemeAddict CD from '04 or '05...I so badly want to revert Christian's music to the original "Just Close Your Eyes" by Waterproof Blonde. Story of the Year can suck my left nut.

I know there's a site that was floating around in the SvR11 thread that had a site with a bunch of themes. You should check there.

Also, one way I find themes to download (and some singles in general) is to just search YouTube with "download link" in the search. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it does work with a majority. For example, searching "Dolph Ziggler November 2011 download link" comes up with this as the first video:
