WHOA WHOA WHOA!
The Jags blew out the Browns? After last week's game by Hoyer the Destroyer? I guess Oakland got the #1 pick next year. |

ravens pt differential of +89 is the best in the NFL on the fewest pts allowed (104) and 4th most pts for (193) behind the Colts, Packers and Cowboys.
This could be the year the Ravens offense is as good as the defense. |

I don't think the Giants disgraced themselves today. The offensive line screwed them over with penalties, but it mainly just came down to a lack of weapons and the fact that they're simply not at the same level as Dallas this year. They were already facing a really uphill battle without Cruz, but Jennings has been missing severely as Williams seems to only rip out a good run one out of every eight carries. Plus the defense is just so banged up with DRC, Beason, Jenkins, etc.
All told, I think they've shown they're a middle of the road team. Their next few games could get very ugly but after that I think they can handle the Jags, Titans, Washington, and Rams. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if they sneak out a win in one of the remaining Dallas/Philly games just because. But 7 or 8 wins isn't going to get you anywhere when Dallas and Philly both seem primed for at double digit wins and the Wild Card will probably require double digit wins as well. Sadly 2015 won't be a season for the Giants to rally around Coughlin being on the hot seat, because I don't see him sticking around. This isn't really his fault, but 3 straight years of no playoffs is probably going to do him in. The only question is whether or not he is fired or if he simply "retires" like Kevin Gilbride. |
Quote:
Should let him retire or go out on on his own terms at least as thanks for the 2 Superbowl titles.
Hasn't he been on or near the hot seat ever since he arrived since it seems like every year there is some rumblings in the NY media or fanbase about wanting him gone even during the good years. |

Thought we were talking about Eli.

So many injuries on the Niners this game. Has the potential to get brutal pretty quickly.

The outcome of this game is secondary to that tackle by Ahmad Brooks. That should have decided the entire game. He consumed Ronnie Hillman's soul.
That's a Bob Sanders level hit right there.
Yeah, can't see how that's not a touchdown. It looked like he hit the pylon with the football.
Tie record.

509!

Slick Fuckin drive by Kap there.

So happy for Peyton. Remarkable amount of touchdowns. He's going to obliterate the record as is and that's with him missing the entire 2011 season.
At this point unless it conflicts with a Giants game I make it a point to watch Broncos games. I'm not a Broncos fan, but it's just so fun to watch Peyton work. Nobody knows for sure when he'll be done (he says he wants to play the last 2 years of his deal but if he wins another Lombardi...who knows), so I just enjoy him while I can. We're probably never going to see somebody like him again. |
Anyone else getting a yellow screen right now?
... No idea what Kaepernick was trying to do on that pick.

Imagine the Browns not wasting there pick on Justin Gilbert and instead drafting Sammy Watkins. That would be great considering you have the best reciever in the NFL (Josh Gordon)

So my thoughts on Peyton.
I was so proud to see what I saw last night. I personally feel blessed as a die hard sports fan. I thought I was lucky to see Reggie Miller. Reggie is a legend to me. Maybe he's not so much a legend to others here, but he meant a lot to me. To have the opportunity to root for quite possibly, the best QB of all time... i'm truly lucky. If I can relate this to TPWW somehow. When I first started posting here, there was not bigger Peyton fan. And people on this board talked so much shit about Peyton. As the years have gone by, the amount of respect Peyton has earned on this board alone is amazing. It just goes to show that every once in a while a player will come around and blur the line of fandom and gain the respect of the masses. Ironically its the reason I've gained so much respect for Tom Brady as I've grown older. I wish there was a way that Peyton could have broke this record as a Colt, but there just wasn't. Going forward with a very questionable Peyton, when Luck was on the table and ready to go and ( knowing now ) was a sure thing. There was no way it made sense. It was a shitty situation. I love Peyton so much. I'm very happy that I ( hopefully ) grow old and have kids and grandkids that I can tell, in detail, about Peyton Manning. This is probably a bit convoluted right now, but i'm just so happy for Peyton. The Broncos are so lucky to have him. I'm lucky to have seen the best of him, but dammit, I think the Broncos are getting the best of him too lol. I'm jealous. But I love Andrew Luck. The sports gods really blessed me. One day when Peyton retires, i'm gonna dig up all these old NFL threads and do a Best Of RP: Peyton Addition. On a side note. Indianapolis and Denver look like they're on a collision course for the AFC Championship game. That would be fucking epic. |

Don't matter. Still an all-time favorite. Bob Sanders

I remember one Madden game where every single fantasy draft the CPU took Bob Sanders with the first pick. And he always wound up hurt. :(

Mistimed that leap badly |
Steelers had the game handed to them on a silver platter.
Can't wait for Sunday night in 2 weeks |
Antonio Brown didn't kick anybody, but he threw a TD pass to Lance Moore. Shit was crazy
took me like 10 views of that to see what was so special about the gif
The Lions arrived in London and then promptly released somebody off their practice squad, so they sent him right back home. Oof.
Maybe they will sign Michael Sam to replace him.
Can't wait for him to make it and dress for a game somewhere and then rhetoric like ________ never give up or w/e even though a lot of guys currently in the NFL bounce around practice squads for years before getting their big gay chance
Yeah the guy I used to work out with, Chris Hogan, bounced around from a bunch of practice squads before the Bills added him to the roster. I think he was with 49ers, Giants, Dolphins, Bills, then Bills again
Y'all are seriously homoPHOBIC because I know of a football player named oh ANDREW LUCK that went right from #1 draft pick to starter  quit making straw man arguments
Just now realized the Lions-Falcons game is on ridiculously early in the morning here for some reason. Gonna be bizarre watching the football before the sun even comes up.
Quote:
Screw the actual fans of the two teams. |
I don't really mind it as it's 3 1/2 extra hours of my Sunday that I'll be able to enjoy watching football. As for Lions and Falcons fans, most of them will be watching the game at about the same time we on the west coast watch the early games every Sunday. It shouldn't be THAT much of an inconvenience for them.
More football! WOOOOO Love me some Sunday Football.
it's stupid and I hate England and I hope the Queen gets mud on her dress
that might be the only game i can watch live this week. :(
Its pretty cool that fox is showing the game everywhere not just in ATL/DET but I'm not sure I'm getting up that early. I'm also not touching Detroit -4.5 with a 10 ft pole but I wouldn't touch Atlanta with a 100 ft pole even ifvthey were getting 2 tds
I've been staying away from Detroit games because they're all games I could see them losing or not covering, and I still like to think I am too emotionally invested into sports to bet against my own team.
Now can we get over San Diego is just as good as Denver crap?
Broncos and Cardinals are the best team in the NFL at this Juncture.
Even tho the Broncos beat the Cardinals, I'd still take the cardinals in the superbowl. |
Cowboys are better than the Cardinals in the NFC right now. That can change, of course, but right now Dallas is the team to beat.
I still like San Diego the rest of the way, and think they can hang with Denver |
That's not to say Denver isn't the best in the AFC, because they are... you could talk me into Indianapolis or even Cincinnati still though
The best part about the playoffs is that they're largely a crapshoot. Last year was the first time that both #1 seeds and the consensus "top 2 teams in the NFL" met in the Super Bowl in ages. Odds are at least one of the conferences will be represented by whatever team is riding the hot hand heading into the playoffs. I could still very easily see San Diego being that team.
I took the Colts to win the AFC in my preseason predictions so I'm gonna stick with that. They'll be without Reggie Wayne for a few weeks but Luck can still get by with the weapons he has...and TY Hilton is a monster anyway. |
My preseason SB bet was Green Bay. Looked awful after 3 weeks but they're coming alive now which gives me hope to win money.
I took the SD season over of 8 games (need 9+ or it's a push). I have faith they will reach that. I think the "teams to beat" in descending-ish order are: AFC Denver Indianapolis San Diego Cincinatti New England Baltimore NFC: Dallas Green Bay Arizona Detroit Philadelphia (not really going out on a limb there) I could see any of those AFC teams taking it. NFC I think it will be one of the top three I listed, as much as I would fucking diiiiiiiiiiie to see the Lions I don't think their offense is reliable enough at this point (so strange to say) |
I would love Green Bay to return, but I don't think it's going to be this year. More happy points if they do, but not going to drink my urine over it.
Dallas with heel Romo continuing to curse fans for not showing up would be awesome, him hoisting the trophy and crediting the staff and players would be tits mcgrits. It would be on Bret Hart meltdown level. Arizona v.s. Cincy in the SB with tweener Palmer teasing to win the Championship and take it back to Cincy with him would be riveting breasts. Philly v.s. Baltimore or Napoleon Dynamite v.s. Danielsan for the title would market that appeal. San Diego v.s. Detroit would be a bomb fest, Stafford and Rivers tearing it up. It's a good mix of teams in the race and I'm enjoying each week of it |
Still not totally willing to count Seattle out, I think they'll get on another roll eventually. Then again I took them to repeat (I know repeating is really hard to do but I think we're due to get a repeat eventually) so I guess I kinda have to.
My NFC picks are looking terrible though. I had: 1. Seattle 2. New Orleans 3. Green Bay 4. Philadelphia 5. San Francisco 6. Chicago Then again like most I never saw New Orleans being as bad as they've been. I thought the rest of the South would be weak but figured the Saints would beat up on them and win the second seed as a result. Now I have no idea who's coming out of the South but whoever it is is almost a lock for the 4 seed. Funny thing is if the Saints get the 4 seed I could still see them getting past the wild card round. The Superdome is not an easy place to play in January. I waffled between Chicago and Arizona for the 6th seed. Chicago is way too inconsistent to count at this point. I knew the Cards were mad good I just figured it was a numbers game. I guess damn Dallas is what really has thrown me off. |
That entire division is poop. Carolina could win it. New Orleans could win it. Atlanta and Tampa are still only 1 and 2 games back of the lead respectively, which is absurd.
It was mentioned on Guess the Lines but omg it would be hilarious if the division winner was 6-10. I'm sure one of the teams will get to 7 or 8 wins but still.
Just imagining people buying 2014 NFC South Champions gear. WOOOOO 6-10! |
If a 6-10 team wins the division then goes on to have a deep playoff run, would a TB o/u 7 bet pay out? That would be fantastic. (it wouldn't, I know)
Once the Cowboys face a good run defense they ll be stopped easily.
Colts and Broncos are the best in AFC |
You mean like Seattle?
Seattle will be lucky to make the playoffs this season rdd
You asked about teams with good run defenses.
Yes and you said the Seattle Seahawks. This answered nothing.
Seattle is a good team with a very good run defense that the Dallas Cowboys have beaten (and recently, to boot). Troll harder.
RDD giving the Bengals a little too much credit I think.
Maybe so, but with AJ Green healthy I think they can hang with anybody. I was wrong about them last year too though.
If they can hang with anybody why can't my Browns? If they start Manziel and had Josh Gordon back. (aka the best receiver in the league)
Its all about Denver and Indy in the AFC. NFC is wide open. Dallas is the top team but Arizona and Green Bay are legit too. It is awesome because all three of those teams play a different way.
Ehh they're better off with Hoyer, but Gordon would be huge for them to get back
Losing their center hurts a ton though, which is a weird thing to say |
AFC Champ game: Broncos vs Colts. Colts winning.
NFC Champ game: 49ers vs Cardinals. Cardinals winning. Superbowl: Cardinals winning 27-14. |
I don't agree with this Hoyer observation.
I bet you don't watch there games so you wouldn't know how he plays. |
RDD, are you trying to have a serious convo with Clerk? o.O
It's funny how everyone's tune changes so quickly. Browns dismantle the Steelers and everyone sings Hoyer's praises. They lose a game that was essentially a "kitchen sink" game for Jacksonville and Hoyer who played terribly is all of a sudden the worst thing to happen. One bad game does not negate a quarter-season's worth of quality starts.

How long do you think Murray will be able to go at this pace before A) They give Randle more snaps, B) Let Tony throw the ball more, or C) He gets injured?
I think Murray's legs may just collapse underneath him in week 11.
I think hes going to get tired and they will be giving Romo the ball 40+ times a game again. It won't end well but with a playoff birth.
They'll start giving Randle more touches. Romo will end up throwing more than he is now, but they are the type of team that's going to want to run to set up the pass, not vice versa.
I'm really getting tired of Philip Rivers. I don't know why he had to mature and stop acting like a jackass. I don't know why he thinks its ok to actually come off humble and respectful and say the right things all of a sudden. I cant stand that I really like this guy now. He's tortured my Colts so many times. Hell, he even did it with one leg and then all but threw up middle fingers at the crowd afterwards. Fuck you Rivers. Fuck you for making me like you so much!
Rivers is the best. He may be my favorite QB of all time.
His meltdowns are great. Plus he interviewed himself on TV. Hall of Fame worthy.
wears a bolo tie better than any man I've ever seen
