So Crosby and the city of Detroit both lack class....apparently.

No, we cheered when he was injured because he's a self-righteous, arrogant little punk-ass prick, and that's also why he was booed for lifting the Cup. On the lifting the cup thing, though as I remember it, Mellon Arena reacted the exact same way when we won it last year in Pittsburgh.

LoDownM 06-14-2009 02:44 AM

I could care less about the booing when he got the cup. But cheering for a injury? Come the fuck on. I don't care if it's Sean Avery, that's classless.

El Fangel 06-14-2009 03:03 AM

I agree, I would have cheered if Franzen ended his career :)

He's an asshole, especially when he's with Malkin on the ice. Then he's twice as evil...I don't know what series you just got through watching but re-play Game 5 and tell me they're perfect angels on the ice who wouldn't hurt a fly and I will call you on it.:|

So what's the excuse for Franzen pushing Crosby's knee into the boards?

We get it, Icebox. People talk about Sidney Crosby and it makes you mad. You can stop trying so hard now.

El Fangel 06-14-2009 06:54 AM

Aww, he pushed his knees into the boards...

If Crosby didnt jump like an idiot to try to avoid the check, he would have been fine.

Jesus, the way people bitch if any player even touchs the whiny little cunt.

El Fangel 06-14-2009 07:43 AM

Very classy indeed here.

Loss, Crosby’s snub leave Wings with bitter taste

DETROIT (AP)—The Red Wings can accept that Pittsburgh is the Stanley Cup champion. Getting snubbed by Sidney Crosby(notes) is another matter.
After watching Pittsburgh hoist the Cup on Detroit’s ice, the Red Wings lined up to shake hands with the Penguins as is custom in the NHL playoffs.
Detroit captain Nicklas Lidstrom(notes) was up front, followed by alternate captain Kris Draper(notes), congratulating many of the new champions while waiting for Pittsburgh’s captain.
“Nick was waiting and waiting, and Crosby didn’t come over to shake his hand,” Draper told an Associated Press reporter a couple hours later as he was leaving Joe Louis Arena. “That’s ridiculous, especially as their captain, and make sure you write that I said that!”

Kapoutman 06-14-2009 11:50 AM

I was reading the newspaper while pooping just 5 minutes ago, and in the sports section, there was a picture of Crosby shaking hands with Osgood, with other Wings players waiting behind. Maybe this is just one big miscommunication mess?

By the way, I don't see why people complain about Crosby for whining and stuff like that. Most of the time he just complains about hits and calls and didn't see as fair. Do you know who else did that a lot? Wayne Gretzky. And I don't see many people on the Gretzky hate bandwagon.

LoDownM 06-14-2009 01:57 PM

I was watching the celebration and saw him shaking Red Wings hands before the trophy's were brought out.

Please, PLEASE elaborate on how Sidney Crosby is a "self-righteous, arrogant little punk-ass prick". Please. I'd love to hear this.

See, the way I've always seen this was that Crosby was SUPPOSED to be drafted by Montreal. When he went to Pittsburgh it was an act of violation against fate. And we all know that Montreal spawns the most stubborn, spiteful, unforgiving jackassery in the world. Don't beleive me?

I could easily elaborate, but you only eat the force-fed shit that the media shoves down your throat.

Though for those of you who can see past that, my girlfriend went to the very same school that he did and what she has told me about him is that he is an arrogant, cocky, self-centered, ignorant little punk ass prick.

Examples:

Comes into the school cafeteria and hands out signatures to select people saying "Here, they will be worth money someday"

Another, he goes to a Tim Hortins and when they screwed up his order he stated "No wonder you cant get a better job"

Hmm, how about that.

YOUR Hero 06-15-2009 10:13 AM

Sid's a bit of a dick, yup. But Draper is a shit head for his comments. In this case I'm in complete agreement with Crosby.

That seems like an incredibly unfounded statement that some angry little kid would just lash out and say for no reason. Good start.

lol wow only somebody who is extremely jealous at their own lack of success would find fault in that. If he's handing them to "select people" they are probably friends of his I guess? Is it so bad that he'd like to give his friends something they can make money off of? Or maybe something they can show their kids or w/e later in life. Just because he knows he's going to be hyped up and famous doesn't make him an asshole.

So basically, FA is basing his opinion of Crosby off of a waiter screwing up his order? GREAT argument you have there FA.

Blitz 06-15-2009 05:18 PM

All from Icebox's girlfriend as well. Guessing she wanted a little Sid and he wanted none of it. Then she made up these rumours. Textbook case of jealousy here.

DAMN iNATOR 06-15-2009 05:24 PM

On rdd's reaction to Fallen Angel about the Tim Horton's quip by Mr. Crosby: Yes, I mostly agree, except that he's not average Joe Q. Citizen, who can criticize most anybody, and 99.9% have it not even be a big deal.

Crosby is a professional sports athlete with moderate fame now, and with that comes scrutiny and the responsibility to try not to say something that might come back to haunt you or your reputation in the future. All I know is he better learn to control his temper a bit more, or one day he will mouth off to the wrong person in or out of the NHL, and get himself, fined, suspended, or even jailed if he doesn't watch himself. It's no big secret the guy has massive anger/temper/possibly ego issues.

road doggy dogg 06-15-2009 09:03 PM

I don't hold athletes/celebrities any higher than I hold you or me or any other person. Why should they act any different? He's a 21 year old, no different from anyone else. If he wants to bitch at an incompetent Tim Horton's employee, I say let him.

Don't give me this "responsibility" bullshit. Just because you have this completely ridiculous notion of placing athletes on pedestals doesn't mean they need to be complete pussies on their own time.

"You don't keep a guy like Lindstrom waiting too long"

What?!

The guy just won the Stanley Cup, Linstrom is pretty low on the list of priorities at that moment.

No disrespect to Lindstrom as he's a top class guy and player

No, Crosby is the worst human being EVER.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-16-2009 09:37 PM

Its supposedly the Madden curse but only because everyone just ignores the few years where nothing happened to the cover guy

Kapoutman 06-17-2009 12:03 AM

Yeah, Rick Nash was 2K Sports' cover guy this year and things went pretty smooth for him.

LoDownM 06-17-2009 12:10 AM

It was more of a joke then anything.

OssMan 06-17-2009 12:14 AM

Looks like his shorts are drawn/airbrushed on. Haven't had a hockey game since NHL Hitz on Gamecube. Might get that

It ain't Madden, it's ok.

Maybe the Caps get a bit more attention now.

Wish 2K could make a fucking decent baseball game!! I was a NHL2K diehard, but EA Sports Be A Pro Mode sucked me in.

road doggy dogg 07-15-2009 07:16 PM

How do the EA and 2k hockey games compare lately? I haven't played an EA one since 2004, or a 2k one since 2k6. Once I get a 360 I'll be looking at a hockey title.
crossrine

Gertner 07-15-2009 07:34 PM

Both are good. The Be a Pro Mode in EA is too amazing to pass up. I've screen some screen shots and previews of EA2010. First person fighting, scrums after the whistle, looks incredible.

The only thing I liked about 2K's NHL games was that it had the skills competition for the all star weekend.
