If he puts in a running powerslam, I will actually have no problems with that finisher. Not much of an accent, which might well work to his advantage frankly.

Did WWE do a huge mistake releasing Matt Morgan?
Guy is a beast. I've been watching him in TNA and he just has what it takes to be a main eventer and could really have worked in the WWE, his mic skills and in ring skills are great.
WWE gave him the stupidest gimmick of all time and IMO, lost the boat. Morgan could've really been huge in the WWE, like Lesnar huge imo... |
His gimmick now is as stupid as the stuttering one

To answer your question, no I don't think WWE made a huge mistake.
For one, it's not like Morgan is THE guy in TNA right now. If Morgan was in the position where his presence in TNA was hurting WWE, than yes, that would equate to a huge mistake on WWE's part. And Secondly, Morgan is still young and is only getting better as he gets older. If WWE were to even show the slightest hint of interest in Morgan, I am positive that he would jump back over as soon as his contract with TNA were to expire. |
Morgan is a good solid talent but WWE isn't exactly hurting for talent.

WWE did a boo boo

I agree with Haze FX and Narc

I always said Morgon would be WWE champ one day when he was in OVW. He looked great in his first stint with the E and then they gave him the stupid gimick and he pretty much faded out. But he was still very young and a little green at that point. So I don't think he release was stupid. I still think he'll get another run in WWE.
|
I thought he was fine until they cut him loose from Heyman and then jobbed him out to everyone.
|
I dont like him. I hate when he poses/taunts the crowd after EVERY move when wrestling.
|
BillyBonez, is English your first language?
This is a serious question. |
Yes..... he only needed more experience... they should have let him wrestle in japan for a year or two, then resign him for a mega push.... the same could be said about Nathan Jones, who I am a huge fan of....

"Did WWE DO a huge mistake?" lol

i thought morgan to be kinda unpolished in his 1st run so no i dont think wwe did the wrong thing
|
No.
|
Only in hindsight does it seem like a mistake. At the time, Morgan didn't seem that good in the ring and if I'm not mistaken, he was much bulkier than his now. He is pretty decent in the ring now and is pretty good on the mic.

They did an UH-OHHHHHH

The only one they fucked up releasing is Dinero
|
The real question is "Did TNA make a huge mistake in not booking the Monday Night Wars around Matt Morgan?"
If they had booked him as the major talent, they would have been pulling down 5.X ratings and handing WWE their asses. |

Haven't seen him in action as of late but when he was in WWE he was just another generic hoss and later had a horrible gimmick so unless that's changed then no.
|
Matt Morgan is the only reason to watch TNA unless you fap to Velvet Sky.
|
I'm sure they definately have a place for him in the middle of the card at the moment, but he hasn't done much since leaving that would make anyone second guess the decision to cut him.
In all reality, the only two guys in TNA that would qualify for this question depending on where the writing takes them is Dinero and Anderson. |
I am a mark for Matt Morgan. Like Loose Cannon, I always expected big things from him. He's a beast, he can talk, he can move for his size and some of the moves he does just look vicious. I definitely think the WWE kind of fumbled with him. They brought him up too early, and when he was ready, they gave him a gimmick that impeded his talents. Why you would give a monster who can talk a stuttering shtick is beyond me.
Sometimes I can understand it why the WWE releases some guys with potential, and it's merely a shame and part of the business -- but I think someone should have been there saying "Yo, you do realise we could make money off this Morgan guy somehow." He's in the same boat as Elijah Burke with me. Only Burke is just all-round better, minus the size. Also, I think TNA should be using the big man more. I hope he takes the belts off The Band. I don't know who his partner will be, but Morgan & Samoa Joe sound like a bad-ass pairing to me. |
No.
|
WWE makes hundreds of millions of dollars so yeah, they made a mistake.

I definately think Morgan is a card and could be a major player in the business.
Thing is, he has had more room to grow in TNA. He's been there for a few years and only recently started to make a splash. If he had stayed in WWE he probably wouldn't have had any opportunity to move up the card. TNA seemed set to fire Morgan into the Main Event before Hogan took over. Hernandez was in the same boat and they ended up teaming them up and throwing them into the tag division. I see Morgan either getting to the top in TNA before jumping over to a spot in WWE's midcard. Or floating around TNA's upper midcard before jumping over to a spot in WWE's midcard. |
