Husain Abdullah retires after 7 years in the league. Has had 5 concussions during that span, so I can see why he's walking away.

NFL currently demanding the New York Times to retract a recent report related to concussions and NFL's poor handling of the situation.

According to the Times, the NFL's concussion studies ended up ignoring about 10% of all concussions within a time period in order to get a better report for their side and downplay how bad the issue was.

Other studies and reports by the NFL also had a big percentage of concussions ignored or not documented. One report even had more concussions ignored than included for the sample pool.

Colin Kaepernick's $11.9 mil. salary is now guaranteed.

Highly doubt Denver is gonna go after him now.

Chatter going around is that everything is in place for Kaepernick to get traded to Denver. But it ain't gonna happen unless he and Denver agree to a restructured deal. And both sides aren't close to that yet.

NFL probably didn't think the Pats pick was going to be where it usually is when they came up with the punishments but them having two 2nd Round picks can be flipped to a potentially higher 2nd Round pick with a good deal. Belichick loves 2nd Round picks a lot more than 1st Round picks based on his draft history.

According to several reports, the whole thing might not have been a random act of road rage but a premeditated murder.

The shooter might have held a grudge against Smith going back to when he worked as a member of the Saints security and for having a dinner with a cop who later ended up killing the shooter's father in a different incident.

Misread when the dinner part happened since the way the article worded it made me think it was before the father's shooting but it was actually before Smith's shooting instead.

Location of Smith's death was very close to the location where the shooter's father died years ago. Also seems the shooter was preoccupied with trying to pursue his own football career until last year in regards to possible motive reasons.

Ended up being currently suspended due to something else getting triggered for the test result than just because of weed.

Pretty safe picks. I'd guess that Neal, Butler, and Jones have the biggest chance of uncomfortably sitting there on day 2 but I don't think there will be any meteoric falls this year.

Schedule drops tonight. I've got Colts/Broncos tabbed as the favorite for the opening night game with it being pretty much a 4 hour circlejerk honoring Peyton.

Don't think they'd do Pats/Broncos this early with Peyton gone and with the uncertainty of who will be under center in Denver. They could also do a Super Bowl rematch but I'm just not sure they'd start with an inter-conference game right off the bat.

I just want the Giants to start with a fucking day game. They're probably due to open at home (last home opener was 2012) but they've started at night four years in a row now. I know the Giants always end up in at least five night games but my god.
