Jays win too. Sanchez with another great game. Great to have a groundball pitcher, who can consistently garner groundballs and get out of jams with double plays.

Damian Rey 2.0 07-20-2016 01:39 AM

Lincecum hasn't had a hall of fame career. He petered out at age 27 and hasn't been even replacement level going on 5 consecutive seasons, after 5 really great seasons.

The world series titles don't make much argument for him either. He was good in 2010 and a bum in the following two titles, to the point that he was relegated to the bullpen because he was terrible and detrimental to winning.

The idea that his hips were the issue is, I believe, a media created narrative that his camp pushed to try and create interest in signing him. I know he was hurt last year. But he seemed healthy enough the previous years as he was tossing over 150 innings in 30 plus games, all of them starts minus 13 appearances in 2014, when he lost his rotation spot due to sucking.

Lock Jaw 07-20-2016 01:51 AM

Am I really immature for laughing every time I hear "Pujols"?

Damian Rey 2.0 07-20-2016 02:33 AM

Nope

Droford 07-20-2016 07:52 PM

The whole os team has the Flu which his just great

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-20-2016 08:19 PM

they've certainly been playing like puke a diarrhea

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-20-2016 08:20 PM

I kid. They're a good team, sucks that they've been sick. Hate when whole teams catch bugs, kinda makes it super unfair, but not like it's anyone's fault.

Droford 07-20-2016 08:47 PM

How bout that Pomeranz trade for the Sox. 3 ip 8 H 5 Er

I blame tampas shitty stadium

Frank Drebin 07-20-2016 09:41 PM

Really hope Vogelbach becomes a solid DH. Pulling for him. Hope he hits well for his new team for a week or two and earns a call up after the trade deadline.

Would imagine that Fenway isn't an ideal place for any pitcher, particularly a guy who hasn't spent much time pitching there.

MLB currently considering some fan suggestions for ways to speed up games with one targetting relievers and managers having no limits on how many they can use per game. Also as a way to help increase scoring chances near the end of games.

"You know the problem with relief pitchers is that they're so good. I've got nothing against relief pitchers but they do two things to the game; the pitching changes themselves slow the game down and our relief pitchers have become so dominate at the back end that they actually rob action out of the end of the game, the last few innings of the game. So relief pitchers is a topic that is under active consideration. We're talking about that a lot internally."

Evil Vito 07-21-2016 11:38 PM

I might be done with baseball if they implement something like that. So fucking stupid.

Droford 07-22-2016 01:26 AM

They should implement pitch count limits to hitters. You only get 5 pitches per AB. Game would speed up real fast that way

Nicky Fives 07-22-2016 02:14 AM

I really hate the whole "speed" debate.... the only thing that needs to go faster in baseball is the speed in which the umpires fuck off....

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-22-2016 10:24 AM

The game moves fine nowadays. Anyone who complains about the speed is not a baseball fan and won't watch once it's made faster.

Lock Jaw 07-22-2016 11:51 AM

Limit batters to 2 crotch grabs per at bat

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-22-2016 12:03 PM

and 3 loogies.

Lock Jaw 07-22-2016 05:17 PM

Breaking news: Russell Martin slips in shower. Out of tonight's game, and may miss a few more.

ClockShot 07-22-2016 05:24 PM

Don't drop the soap.

Droford 07-22-2016 11:11 PM

Orioles are back in 1st hopefully they avoid team ravaging flu outbreaks again although they have lost Kim and Rickard to the DL and weiters hasn't played in a week either

Damian Rey 2.0 07-22-2016 11:34 PM

Losing Rickard is addition by subtraction.

Droford 07-23-2016 12:24 AM

He was playing well..I don't wanna hear that

Damian Rey 2.0 07-23-2016 12:30 AM

He sucks. He's a well below average hitter. A well below average defender. Kim has been twice as good if not better in almost half the playing time.

I know you like Rickard but he still sucks. He literally contributes nothing.

Droford 07-23-2016 12:39 AM

Trade rumor o the moment

Ubaldo and a prospect to the Padres for Melvin Upton

The os also scouted Cashner so there might be something to Cashner/Upton for Ubaldo and prospects if They figure out the prosoects6

Damian Rey 2.0 07-23-2016 12:54 AM

Baltimore has a pretty pathetic farm right now. I don't see a ton that may be of interest. However, we shall see.

Moving Upton allows the Padres to bring up Hunter Renfroe. He was one of the only two top prospects the Padres after the great purge of the Padres farm system.

Droford 07-23-2016 12:56 AM

Ubaldo for Upton wouldn't need a big prospect since its a fairly even salary swap. Padres would be ahead about $5 million between remainder of this year and next

Damian Rey 2.0 07-23-2016 09:11 AM

I doubt the Padres would trade a winning asset for a losing one. If they take on Jimenez it's likely to net a bigger prospect return.

Droford 07-23-2016 07:37 PM

Nelson Cruz beat the Jays 7 - 5

The Miz wearing an Orioles jersey when they play the Indians seems weird/awkward

ClockShot 07-23-2016 08:02 PM

Chris Sale had a "pre-game incident" and was scratched from today's start.

According to sources, it had nothing to do with a trade, but with an argument with the front office.

Droford 07-23-2016 08:08 PM

Chris Sale cut up all the throwback jerseys before the game because he didn't want to wear them.

It'd be obscenely hilarious if they were.

No Sale for Sale though. They are asking for 5 prospects.

Droford 07-23-2016 11:08 PM

How about David Price

5 runs 11 hits in 5 ip

He's not waiting til the postseason to suck
