toxic rooster 08-14-2005 10:10 AM

Jenas got sent off

Y2Ant 08-14-2005 10:21 AM

that was bullshit, never deserved a straight red for that shit

toxic rooster 08-14-2005 10:28 AM

I have to agree, it looked worse than it was due to the way his legs ended up scissoring Gilberto, and the fact Gilberto stayed down

Mr. Monday Morning 08-14-2005 11:47 AM

I'm so sick of people saying Wigan are the new/next Wimbledon. Bullshit. Wimbledon didn't have a fucking millionaire bankrolling them and their stadium. Wimbledon were a completely self-made success story.

packt up 08-14-2005 01:34 PM

Ref was an absolute joke today. I'm not saying we were going to win at all or even that the result was going to be different but he made some shocking simple errors and the sending off of Jenas was a fucking joke.

Did Jenas get the ball - Yes. Did he take him from behind - No. Was it two footed - No. Could the Ref even see - No.

Absolutely baffling. Lets hope it gets over turned.

toxic rooster 08-14-2005 01:59 PM

Fucking cruel at Wigan there

The Answer 08-14-2005 01:59 PM

Wow, Wigan Athletic took Chelsea to the limit. If not for Hernan Crespo in the 90th.....

Mr. Monday Morning 08-14-2005 02:00 PM

LOL fuck off Wigan. Hernan

I'll bet that twat who lobbed the ball over the bar when they were breaking 3 on 1 feels like shit now

toxic rooster 08-14-2005 02:03 PM

Johansson I think...he missed another chance only a few minutes before too.

He'll have some nightmares

Rob Ban Fan 08-14-2005 02:11 PM

haha unlucky Wigan.

Nice to see a certain fat, shit, old Dutchman had about £60,000,000 worth of talent in his pocket though.

Mr. Monday Morning 08-14-2005 02:14 PM

Also nice to see a lethal Senegalese hitman have one shot on target all game.

packt up 08-14-2005 02:16 PM

lol

Wengerland 08-14-2005 02:43 PM

I felt bad for Wigan, then i remembered the shit crowds they were getting for the past two years, so they can fuck off. They're not a terrible side though.

Also, Paul Dickhead getting sent off

Bixente 08-14-2005 02:54 PM

Arsenal totally dominated the possession, but rarely looked threatening - like the Chelsea game. Arsenal have problems when the opposition parks the bus in front of the goal, and I couldn't see a goal coming.

Aliaksandr Hleb was outstanding, and has already settled into the team - he could've scored too. Surely, he has to start against Chelski.

Wengerland 08-14-2005 03:14 PM

Darren Bent has replaced Andrew Johnson in the England squad too, which isn't a bad choice.

Rob Ban Fan 08-14-2005 03:24 PM

Bixente Lizarazu

Y2Ant 08-14-2005 03:38 PM

god damn Arsenal :(

ROFL @ Wigan though, I love Hernan Crespo

Londoner 08-14-2005 07:07 PM

Whats up with all the hate for wigan in this thread? They were unlucky and played well, so what if they're supported well financially?I don't see why that should be held against them, they have a good manager i think. The only thing i hold against them is that most of the fans aren't real football fans, but that is nothing to do with the team, i hope they do well.

As for newcastle, i didn't see much of the game today(just some of the highlights) but from what ive heard the ref once again showed us that the refs do infact give decisions in favour of the big three in the premiership, it's so obvious these days it not even funny anymore. I'm glad it wasn't a 5-0 thrashing or anything though.

packt up 08-14-2005 07:09 PM

Graeme Le Saux is a bummer and shut his arsehole ie his face.

Alright then. By the way, anyone know the current tpww league standings?I'm 13th in the overall fantasy football league, so i imagine i'm near the top of this one.I can't login at the moment though because it says 'there are too many members logged in' which is ridiculous.

Ogen 08-14-2005 08:08 PM

If your who I think you are your joint top on 30 points.

Wengerland 08-14-2005 08:10 PM

I've got nothing against Wigan as a team either, they did well and were unlucky in the end, but it's the fact that they gained so many "fans" just because they're in the premiership. They probably more than doubled their average attendance from last year, and i'd have thought watching your side rape teams on the way to promotion for lower prices wouldn't be so much worse than that.

But yeah, they're not as terrible a side as people make out, certainly won't go down as easily as most have said.

Newcastle looked pretty well organised for the mostpart, didn't offer much going forward mind.

With me......until they update it :'(

Cactus Sid 08-15-2005 06:31 AM

Actually, having seen my points for the week, I'll end up with 39 after the transfers go through....so I might be mid-table.

Y2Ant 08-15-2005 09:36 AM

Jenas' red card gets downgraded to a yellow, bit late now

Mr. Monday Morning 08-15-2005 09:39 AM

I logged onto the fantasy thing sometime late last night and the points had been updated from Sunday's games, huge difference in almost everyone's points total.

-edit- Just checked and league viewing is disabled til later in the week :| Top of the league was like 55 points or something though.

El Capitano Gatisto 08-15-2005 09:53 AM

I think I racked up a few this week. Benayoun, Terry, Lampard, Henry and Crespo should get me a few points. Riise, no.

That's weird, because in the proper league i have about 43 pts, though ive made 5 transfers now, and thats now cost me 16 pts, but they're for the long term. My team name is 'Chapman_FC'.

For those curious the transfers ive made are:

Toure in For King
Reo-coker in for Reid
Bent in for radzinski
Sheringham in for stead
O'shea in for heinze
