If first possessing team scores a TD, the game is over. Half of each team doesn't get to play.

RoXer 01-22-2012 11:19 PM

It was like that under the old rules too

Supreme Olajuwon 01-22-2012 11:19 PM

how is Justin Tuck the only player in the NFL with the ninja mask

RoXer 01-22-2012 11:20 PM

Unless you meant you want both teams to have an opportunity on offense

because the rules were only designed to eliminate cheap field goals

if you give up a TD, that's your own fault

What? I could have sworn that each team got a possession no matter what. Like, if Team A scores, Team B had a chance to match that score.

I think they should make it a TD doesn't end it. Kickoff to the other team and give them a chance to score. Do it until somebody can' match the points. Wish college wod do that instead of putting them in fg range from the get go. Basically a hybrid of college and nfl ot rules.

Droford 01-22-2012 11:21 PM

Wonder what happens if they play 2 ots, is there another halftime?

No, it's the coin flips fault. Essentially comes down to chance.

If you have the best offense in the league and a mediocre defense, but you've gotten to the playoffs then it was because of the sum of all your team. But lose the coin flip and the other team chooses to get the ball first, then your best offense in the league doesn't even get to play if they score. That's not your fault. It was a 50/50 chance.

That is college OT rules. they don't kickoff. they just spot it on the +30

RoXer 01-22-2012 11:24 PM

Defense wins championships

I'm not debating the merits of the rules with you (mainly because you're not a real fan). I am simply telling you that's how it works.
