People can hate A-Rod all they want, but he has said all the right things the last couple years and the Yankees are completely embarrassing him and essentially forcing him into retirement.
"A-Rod can't play third because we're trying to win games." Sure made sense then that they routinely trotted Jeter and his terrible defense out there every night in 2014 when they weren't sellers and closer to a playoff spot than they are this year. |
Hard to feel bad for A-Rod since he's a piece of shit.
|
I do not hate A Rod anymore.
|
Should at least let him play 3B for his final game. Maybe its just his tone but ever since they went on a selling spree, Girardi has sounded at times like he feels he's getting the axe after the season.
Yankees had a few chances to wash their hands from A-Rod the past few years but did nothing and even changed their tone when he had to bail them out a few times. The rumored Miami trade a few years ago was their best chance mostly because they actually found someone dumb enough to take his contract at the time. |
He's done.
The Yankees Youth Movement has finally arrived. That's the only thing that matters. If he plays tonight, fine. If not, whatever. |

I love A-Rod, but it's really hard to feel bad for the guy.
I would want him to go to if I were The Yankees. |
I'm sorry Vito

Beautiful day for a ballgame |
Att park was voted top 3 parks by USA today I believe
|
I'm openly rooting against the Mets at this point. If them continuing to look like dogshit the rest of the way is the only way to get rid of Collins then it's for the greater good.

I like Kaufman in KC better than SF, but its #2 in my eyes....
|
Russell FUCKING Martin! Tuned into mlb network to see Martin blast a 3 run dinger into centerfield to take a 4-2 lead.

Nationals released Jon Papaelbon after he requested for it to be done.

Got to see Aaron Sanchez toss a bit as well. Like the stuff but I've always read he had poor lower half mechanics and I saw it today. Doesn't take a long stride to the plate despite being as tall as he is. But in turn, it makes this year that much more impressive and if they ever do lengthen out his stride he's only going to get that much better.
If he keeps up I think he's a very strong Cy Young candidate. |
The advantage he has is he put on a bunch of weight in the off season (good weight because he is really lean) so that helps at least with something. I'm know nothing of mechanics other than the basic need to drive as much as you can from your lower half to avoid putting strain on your shoulder, but I wouldn't be able to tell if Sanch has a small stride.
Did you get to see Grilli's inning? Since he's come to the Jays his ERA is below 2. It's fucking ridiculous. Plus, Gary Sheffield is his agent. Overall while I think the Jays will make the playoffs, I'm not completely sold on them... but they have finally started consistently winning close games which since their big run last year, has been the main knock against them. So it's a start. Also, I fucking love Jose Altuve. Can he please hit .400? |
Oh shit. Pads called up Brandon Morrow. I had so much hope for that guy :(

Day 1 of the post Alex Rodriguez era. The Judge & Stone Cold Tyler Austin hit back to back home runs in their first MLB plate appearances.
Loving this right now. |

Jacob deGrom has 9 no-decisions this season, and he has put up a 1.92 ERA in those games.
Reason 101 why the Wins stat is utter bollocks. |
not be all and end all that's for sure. But a 20 win season is a nice complement to some good stats.
|
Wins are a joke. It wasn't that long ago that writers lived and died by the wins stat. The 2005 AL Cy Young race was the most notorious example I can think of.
Colon 2005: 21-8, 3.48 ERA, 222.2 innings, 157 K, 1.16 WHIP Santana 2005: 16-7, 2.87 ERA, 231.2 innings, 238 K, 0.97 WHIP I love Bart but jesus, no way he should have won that award let alone in a blowout like he did. There is no objective metric that Colon was more deserving. He just happened to be on a far better team that actually gave him a ton of run support. Johan allowed less than a baserunner per inning for christ's sake. |
Meanwhile there probably hasn't been a manager in recent history happier to see his own starter lose a no-hitter than Terry Collins just now.
Matz threw 120 pitches his last start despite dealing with bone spurs and it's a brutally hot day. Finally gave up a hit with 1 out in the 8th. Collins could not have booked it out of the dugout fast enough to remove him after 105 pitches. |
Matz hasn't pitched with one full season of health has he? I don't blame him for yanking an injury prone starter.

I'm inclined to say no, which is funny because he used Gabriel Ynoa to finish the game. Ynoa hasn't pitch in relief in four years and so Collins throws him out there back to back days, which is mind-numbing levels of stupidity if your goal is to try to protect guys' arms. |
Marlins considering talks with A-Rod to see if he would play for them after losing Giancarlo Stanton for the rest of the season.
|
You're killing me Dale.

hahaha

droford is abou to have an orgasm
|
I actually got to watch the game too
7 run rally 7th inning on to win 8-7 |
Against a good team too.

I can't lie, I'd laugh my balls off if the Marlins won a ring with Ichiro and A-Rod.
Then I'd cry realizing that they had won more World Series titles in 24 seasons of existence than the Mets have in 55. |
