Pretty much guaranteed Chargers are leaving San Diego. New stadium ballot question got rejected during last night's election. Only got 43% approval but needed at least 66% to pass due to California laws related to special tax hikes needed to pay for it.

Team has until January 15th to make a decision on its future with the options being stay in San Diego and try to muster up a new stadium deal or bolt for LA since the Raiders picked Vegas as their new future home.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-10-2016 11:55 PM

0-10. Browns tried though.

Mercenary 11-13-2016 12:07 PM

Whose sock is he?

Clerk 11-14-2016 07:15 PM

Who y'all got? Bingals or Giants? Idk who to pick cuz the Giants could win because there facing Andy Dalton but then again the Bingals could win because there both facing Eli Manning. Doesn't really matter who wins tho tbh because both teams won't make the playoffs and if they do they will barely make it and get knocked out 1st round. Only watching because I love watching sorry teams try for no reason lol

Emperor Smeat 11-20-2016 03:19 PM

Tony Romo is currently rumored to want a trade or play for the Broncos next season. He's also looking at a few other teams as options but Broncos are rumored to be his first choice at the moment.

Quote:

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Romo is looking at the Broncos for 2017.

Rapoport said on Sunday that Romo "already has eyes on the Broncos as a possible destination if (Denver) general manager John Elway decides Paxton Lynch needs another year and that Trevor Siemian isn't the guy."

Other destination options for Romo could include the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills, according to Rapoport.

Clerk 11-20-2016 03:58 PM

Career wise, he's barely above .500 for a win-loss record.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-21-2016 02:15 AM

No idea how he survived the move to LA.

Emperor Smeat 11-22-2016 04:46 PM

City of Oakland trying one last attempt to keep the team there after an early agreement on a new stadium was made.

Only catch is the Raiders weren't involved in the talks and the league itself might still vote in favor of the move to Vegas. Raiders are only guaranteeing two more seasons in Oakland since the new Vegas stadium needs time to be built.

ClockShot 11-22-2016 07:22 PM

I thought the back up plan if the Raiders did move was to play at Sam Boyd Stadium while their new place was under construction.

Pretty sad the City of Oakland finally figured out that O.co was falling apart.

Hope Oakland does not lose the Raiders unless they move to Mexico since those fans were amazing.

Ruien 11-23-2016 12:09 PM

Still can't get how awesome the Mexico fans were. Booing the hell out of the away team and a bunch of Oakland jerseys being worn.

Clerk 11-23-2016 09:43 PM

Cool now stfu wannabe POTTY

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-24-2016 09:51 PM

I guess having the worst team in the league is making you angry. I thought you'd be used to it being a Browns fan Clerk.

McLegend 11-27-2016 08:23 PM

I strongly dislike how Carrie Underwood walks/dances during the Sunday Night Football opening.

She looks weird.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-27-2016 09:29 PM

The song blows too.

Ruien 11-27-2016 09:52 PM

Ya. I use to look forward seeing/hearing the Sunday Night Football song by Carrie but now its meh.

McLegend 11-28-2016 06:10 PM

Why is Doug Williams on Monday night Countdown when it's Packers/Eagles?

McLegend 11-28-2016 11:09 PM

Well the Eagles defintely aren't making the playoffs now.

Really love this vaunted Jim Schwartz defense.

Emperor Smeat 11-29-2016 12:07 AM

Even though they are denying it, NFL rumored to be considering dropping Thursday Night games for future seasons as part of the things to be discussed during this offseason.

Current contract for Thursday games ends after next season.

Quote:

The NFL just issued a statement saying, “We are fully committed to Thursday Night Football, and any reports to the contrary are unfounded.” The report in question comes from respected NFL writer Mike Florio, founder of NBC Sports’ ProFootballTalk.com. Citing a source, he says the league will consider “the possibility of ending, or at least limiting, Thursday Night Football.” The current deal for the package shared by CBS and NBC expires after next season; the games also air on the league-owned NFL Network and are streamed on Twitter.

Florio says the league’s options include sidelining the Thursday games outright or perhaps starting the package on Thanksgiving each year and continuing throughout the season, “with games likely to generate broad interest selected in April for November/December programming.”

According to ESPN, Chargers set to make an official announcement of them moving to LA by next month regardless of San Diego's latest efforts on a new stadium deal.

Quote:

Barring a miracle, the San Diego Chargers are expected to exercise the team's option to move to Los Angeles in 2017, sources told ESPN's Jim Trotter ...

Chargers chairman Dean Spanos has to alert the league that he intends to exercise that option by next month's deadline.
Moving to LA has a pricey catch for the team though.

Quote:

The Chargers have a tenant-lease agreement with Rams owner Stan Kroenke that lowers the team's risk because they do not have to borrow money for construction of the $2.6 billion project.

The Rams and Chargers would jointly share revenue such as naming rights, suites, sponsors and advertising. The teams would be on their own to sell season tickets and personal seat licenses ...

However, the risk for Spanos is that the franchise would be on the hook for a $650 million relocation fee paid over 10 years, determined during the January owners meeting in Houston.

The Chargers also would have to purchase land and construct a practice facility, which would cost tens of millions of dollars.
