I bet the Raiders hire the Angels as their mystery candidate

That might be a good thing.

I like the idea of Del Rio being the replacement

TEAM CROSS ARMBREAKER!

Evil Vito 01-24-2012 06:35 PM

<font color=goldenrod>lol @ people saying Devin Thomas and Jacquian Williams need to be suspended for the Super Bowl for saying that they were trying to concuss Kyle Williams as part of their gameplan.

They went into the game knowing he already had 4 concussions. Every coaching staff in the NFL would take note of that and encourage their team to exploit it. It's not like they were even going at the guy's head whenever he was tackled. They were simply encouraged to tackle him as hard as possible knowing that he might have to get taken out of the game if he was slammed hard enough. Big fucking deal. It's football, people.</font>

Supreme Olajuwon 01-24-2012 06:50 PM

I'm sure you'd have the same opinion if they weren't Giants players.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-24-2012 06:54 PM

Let's pretend the Niners put a bounty on Eli Manning's leg. Everyone was supposed to try and take out his leg.

Fucking disgraceful act by the 49ers trying to take out Eli's leg. Players should be suspended the entire season next year for that. There's no place in football for that. Fucking sickening.

Triple Naitch 01-24-2012 07:06 PM

Had no idea that Kyle Williams is White Sox GM Kenny Williams' son.

Evil Vito 01-24-2012 07:19 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Buddy Ryan isn't on the 49ers coaching staff, so no worries there.

But it's not the same situation. First off the fact that the guy had 4 concussions already probably was an indication that he shouldn't be playing. Any coach would exploit that. They didn't try to go after his head. They simply said that hitting him hard might make him leave the game.

You can't suspend people for trying to tackle harder. At that point you may as well just ban tackling and turn the NFL into a 2-hand touch league.</font>

Evil Vito 01-24-2012 08:49 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Anybody in the tri-state area...if you can figure out who's talking in this audio clip you might be able to win Super Bowl tickets tomorrow. Mike played this question all day and nobody knows who the fuck it is. My first guess was Trent Dilfer for some reason but somebody already guessed it and got it wrong:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZAjovzijGcY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Hell, even I might try dialing in tomorrow. :o The first couple of questions are usually really easy. 3rd and 4th, not so much.</font>

lol. Jesus. Really?

It's not the tackling that is the issue. It's the act of going out there with the intent of giving someone a serious injury. Period. It doesn't matter their strategy, if they aimed for the head or not. When you say your biggest thing was "to take him out of the game" based on his history with concussions there isn't any question on what you're trying to do.

And Sean Landeta

Evil Vito 01-25-2012 11:37 AM

<font color=goldenrod>Don't get me wrong, it was a dumb comment to make and it reflects poorly on you as a person for actively wanting to get somebody out of the game via injury. My contention is just with the claim that they should be suspended. They simply pointed out that hitting him hard (and clean) might be able to take him out of the game and put the Niners on their 3rd string returner. Scummy comment? Absolutely. But they didn't violate any rules. If they get suspended over that then where was D'Angelo Hall's suspension for openly saying he was going to target Romo's broken ribs and punctured lung? The intention was exactly the same.

I do think the NFL will need to be even more strict with their concussion policies next season, though. Williams has had 4 this season, which is pretty crazy. In addition to the current protocol, I think you should have to go on IR if you get multiple concussions during the season. It might be a bit much and I know everybody reacts to concussions differently, but I just don't see how playing with more than one concussion in such a short time span could be a good idea.</font>

Evil Vito 01-25-2012 12:39 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Apparently Dennis Allen is the first Raiders head coach with a defensive background since John Madden. Christ.</font>

DaveBrawl 01-25-2012 12:52 PM

Evil Vito 01-25-2012 02:40 PM

<font color=goldenrod>lol the audio clip was John Kuhn. Never would have gotten that one in a million years. :o Had no idea he had a ring with the Steelers.</font>

Emperor Smeat 01-25-2012 04:12 PM

NFL owners extend Roger Goodell's contract for a 2nd time with the new deal lasting till 2019 although the monetary amount wasn't revealed.

Innovator 01-25-2012 04:19 PM

How dare the Giants kick to the punt returner.

Anyways....Khannnnnnnnnnnn!

Hey man, leave my new team owner out of this.

<font color=goldenrod>Chuck Pagano hired as Colts head coach.</font>

FearedSanctity 01-25-2012 05:36 PM

Cue Droford tears

Droford 01-25-2012 08:52 PM

lose Pagano and now I hear the stupid mother fucking moron Cameron is probably NOT leaving..WTF

Evil Vito 01-26-2012 12:13 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Sounds like the Bucs are gonna hire Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano.

Dolphins are probably going to end up with Mike Sherman.</font>

Triple Naitch 01-26-2012 01:05 PM

Thought the Dolphins hired Green Bay's OC?

Evil Vito 01-26-2012 01:41 PM

Oh yeah. One of the reporters must have made a typo. Turns out Sherman is heading to Tampa for another interview but they've basically settled on Schiano.

Evil Vito 01-26-2012 01:51 PM

Got a list of answers at the ready for the Super Bowl contest today. Probably not gonna get through but worth a shot. :o

Innovator 01-26-2012 02:04 PM

Quick Vito, 5 coaches have taken 2 different teams in the Superbowl, name them.

Nark Order 01-26-2012 02:11 PM

Don Shula, Bill Parcels...

And 3 other guys. :(

FUCK YOU, VITO.

Evil Vito 01-26-2012 02:15 PM

Lol I remember last year he had some Super Bowl question that related to hockey somehow and the caller pointed out that he shouldn't ask it because he never bothers talking hockey.

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah, was using that site as well as the forums at mikefrancesa.com

Tried calling early and was already told that all lines are busy. :( Plus somebody won on the first try so fuck knows when he'll play again.

It's funny because he's said he has people monitoring some of these sites. Somebody got the Brett Keisel clip wrong and it was never played again after the answer got immediately posted.</font>

Evil Vito 01-26-2012 05:00 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Holy shit. Mike broke out an audio clip never before used and somebody got it right on the first try - Flozell Adams. So 3 out of the 4 winning audio clips have been random players from last year's Super Bowl Media Week (John Kuhn, Tim Masthay, Flozell Adams).

Better pay attention to interviews next week and take note of obscure Giants and Pats players for next year's contest.</font> :shifty:

Innovator 01-26-2012 05:32 PM

Vito, have you ever called in Mike's show and gotten on air?

Evil Vito 01-26-2012 05:42 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Nah, never really felt the need to call in before. Probably wouldn't be able to resist making a Diet Coke joke.</font>

Innovator 01-26-2012 05:45 PM

It would be that or a Dog impression.

Evil Vito 01-26-2012 05:59 PM

<font color=goldenrod>The best part about his show is that the YES Network has a tendency to cut back from commercial early without telling him. Almost feel like they do it on purpose because it yields hilarious results, like catching him eating ice cream and he quickly tries to cover it up:</font>

Lol. That's pretty hilarious.
