love Howard bitching about his coach... given, I don't think he's a great coach... but Howard is soooooooo over rated... he could be one of the most dominating players in the league, instead of just a "big guy"...

with his size and speed... where the jump shot? the hook? the step back?

Most of all, he just doesn't play with any anger... looking at great big guys... they'd take over games... Howard dosen't.

Oh, and he took 10 shots in the game, during the year he only averaged 12.

So, this "give me the ball" crap some people are talking about is just silly.

That said, Perkins is playing amazing... but part of that is Howard is just simply soft...

He should wake up tonight and dominate... 20 plus attempts, charge the hoop every time... draw the fouls, crash the boards...

It's funny, a sports guy said today "Ewing has been working with Howard... when do you think they'll start?"

IC Champion 05-14-2009 10:14 PM

Odom and Gasol are the softest front court in the NBA.

IC Champion 05-14-2009 10:15 PM

Juan, I know we said Bosh was soft, but not that soft, lol.

IC Champion 05-14-2009 10:22 PM

And just how bad did Farmar play in the regular season to warrant FIsher to be keep starting? He has been terrible, and absolutley awful on defence. Brooks blows right by him everytime.

Juan 05-14-2009 10:32 PM

I don't wanna talk about it

IC Champion 05-14-2009 10:35 PM

LOL, I wouldn't either.

Game isn't over though, I wouldnt be surprised to see a Lakers come back, it's all about whether or the Rockets can maintain this level of scoring.

Juan 05-14-2009 10:39 PM

Even if they do come back to win, this shit is embarrassing right now. No heart, no passion, no intensity.

IC Champion 05-14-2009 10:45 PM

I love Phil Jackson, he's my favorite coach and I always liked him, but is he maybe he's getting a bit old?

Juan 05-14-2009 10:49 PM

Jumping into a guy and getting a foul called is probably the most bullshit rule in the NBA.

IC Champion 05-14-2009 10:49 PM

Why isnt Farmar on the floor? Why is Fisher on the floor? He's been a human pylon for Brooks.

IC Champion 05-14-2009 10:51 PM

Bullshit Technical.

They have been given them out like candy on halloween. And Flagrants.

Juan 05-14-2009 10:52 PM

Luis Scola:

IC Champion 05-14-2009 10:54 PM

Artest is a punk.

He should be a pro wrestler when he retires, he can sell so well.

Juan 05-15-2009 12:19 AM

You've got to be kidding me.

So soft. Celts shat all over that last year.

SammyG 05-15-2009 01:10 AM

Wow. Yeah, we ain't doin jack shit this June if we play like this.

I want Fisher benched ASAP. Start Farmar or Brown.
No more Sasha Vujacic. Mad scrub this whole year.

That said. I still think there is no way in hell we lose game 7. If we do though.. I will be rooting for Houston.

Jeritron 05-15-2009 02:37 AM

I would never root for a team that eliminated my team from contention that year. Just me

Sasha Vujacic. I hate him so much.

Jeritron 05-15-2009 02:39 AM

Except maybe if another team wins the east, I'd root for them IN THE EVENT that the Lakers made the finals.
Not just because it's the Lakers, but mainly because I don't want Phil Jackson to win another title. Red.

SammyG 05-15-2009 03:41 AM

See, the thing is, Houston is so likable. Except for Artest, obviously.

I love Shane Battier. I love how amazing he is on defense, and effecient on offense. Really likable guy. Same with Yao. I feel bad for him. Dude works his ass off, and is amazing, but just too big, keeps getting hurt.

Landry, Scola, Brooks, all hard workers. Have mad respect for them.

That being said, hope we crush them.

Skippord 05-15-2009 03:17 PM

Chris Andersen is my favorite human being in the world

I might be in love with him

Artest is really likeable now I think. He's made a major face turn in the past year

Loose Cannon 05-15-2009 10:34 PM

I've always liked Artest being he's a St John's alum and is from Queens, NY

he will always be my hero though ever since he tried to fight assholes in the crowd

Loose Cannon 05-15-2009 10:36 PM

now Chris Anderson, that guy is a fucking moron. sorry. but I know you're from Col and all Skip, so I'll let it slide

DaveWadding 05-15-2009 10:40 PM

You know who is really awesome?

Steve "I have more MVPs than Kobe "Doin' Work" Bryant" Nash.

Loose Cannon 05-15-2009 10:43 PM

And how many does the Mamba have without the Big Diesel?

Juan 05-15-2009 11:03 PM

:sigh:

Same old "argument"

Kobe can't win without Shaq. Kobe raped white girls. OK I GET IT

How many would Big Diesel have without Kobe, you know the same guy who would miss 20-30 games every year? Or without Phil Jackson? He won his fourth because of Wade and because the Mavericks are chockers.

How many did Nash win again? Im sorry, I don't think you answered my question the first time?:p

Bottom line, Kobe > Nash, and I'm Canadian, not that it matters.

The Kobe can't win without Shaq is a pretty a good argument.

Especially after last year's total give up.

Year Games Played
99-00 79
00-01 74
01-02 67

82-67 = 15. 15 =/= 20-30

And the Heat won because the refs couldnt stop slobbing D-Wade's knob.

Credit where it is due... 20 point ass-whopping on their home court...

Honestly, was surprised it went 7 games...

Still think they won in spite of Van Gundy...

what a show though... it was like they couldn't miss a 3pt and the Celtics couldn't get out fast enough to guard them..

and yeah, Pierce pisses me off more every game... yes, plenty of Celtics didn't show up, but how the fuck the god damn captin can't hit fucking free throws is beyond me... I swear he's such a selfish player it's not funny... and after the speach he gave opening night and the way he's played this season... hope he finishes his career elsewhere.

already the talk has begun... Davis is an unrestricted free agent... if the C's sign him, it will put them into the luxury tax...

Davis is young, i'd like to see him stay, I just wonder if he will ever play as good again as he did these playoffs, and with his weight being an issue and him being young, might the big money deal make him not work as hard..

Smokey 05-18-2009 12:02 AM

My boy LeBron gonna roll over everybody including that bitch ass Kobe

Kris P Lettus 05-18-2009 12:52 AM

Cavs over Nugs in the finals..

Mad dissapointed in the Celts..

SammyG 05-18-2009 01:07 AM

CEEEELLTSS SHOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!

MAD EXCITED Boston is eliminated. Fucking awesome. Sucks that they didn't have KG but OH WELL we didn't have Bynum last year either.

Also, I love the Magic. Gonna be hard to hate them if they make the finals.

Kris P Lettus 05-18-2009 01:44 AM

LMFAO @ you comparing KG to Bynum

SammyG 05-18-2009 02:09 AM

Playing Denver with only 1 day rest is gonna suck... still should pull it off at home though.

IC Champion 05-18-2009 02:15 AM

I'd rather be the team with one day rest than the team with a week off, throws you off a bit not playing for a week.

VonErichLives 05-18-2009 07:26 AM

Dunno, some teams do well with rest, some don't...

ESPN show'd James at practice... fucking guy hit a shot from the stands, behind the hoop, past 3pt range. Was a sick shot... don't see it being to helpful in a game but was fun to watch.

Evil Vito 05-18-2009 10:12 AM

Pretty glad the Celtics are out...nothing against them personally, I just genuinely dislike repeat titles except for my own team, and moreover I can't stand Marbury.

Should be some good series' coming up.

Kris P Lettus 05-18-2009 01:05 PM

Celtics played like shit..

Oh well, that just means Peanuts gonna get a ring..

Big Fat Mike 05-18-2009 01:26 PM

lol Are you serious? Yeah his game can get annoying when shots aren't falling but when he's on he's on. His game looks mad ugly either way but wishing him to go to another team is borderline retarded, without him the Celtics wouldn't have won shit last year. As far as this series goes I'm more disappointed with Ray Allen considering he couldn't do dick for the majority of the series with J.J. Redick guarding him

The Celtics where 1 game (granted it was a 20pt game) away from the Eastern Conference finals this year, so that's pretty legit seeing how KG was out and Scals was logging major minutes. Scals was a healthy scratch for every playoff game last season (pretty sure he only even suited up for 2 of them when Tony Allen hurt his thumb) so that is pretty ridiculous he was one of the main scoring options off the bench. Only problem is none of the Big 3 are getting any younger so the window of opportunity is getting smaller and smaller for another championship. I wouldn't be surprised to see Davis go to another team, he is going to want to be a starter I bet. I'd like to see Marbury back, Mikki Moore can bounce tho. I'd wish the same on Tony Allen but they just signed him to a deal last summer for some reason.

Random thought but I'd like to see Marcin Gortat from the Magic get more minutes, I know it's hard with Howard but in his limited role he always seems to be doing work. Plus every time Howard missed a game during the season/playoff it seemed like he logged a double/double.

SammyG 05-18-2009 03:35 PM

Gonna say Cleveland in 6
and Lakers in 6

DaveWadding 05-18-2009 03:43 PM

Lakers frontcourt gonna get massacred by Denver's.

Jeritron 05-18-2009 03:51 PM

I can't believe you tried to compare Bynum's absence to losing KG.

Try Leon Powe

SammyG 05-18-2009 03:59 PM

Does Denver really have THAT much of an advantage? Odom Gasol and Bynum gonna get dominated by Nene, K-mart and Birdman? Come on.

Also, who on that team can guard Kobe? Dahntay Jones or whatever? Come on.

Jeritron 05-18-2009 04:05 PM

Paul Pierce can guard Kobe

SammyG 05-18-2009 04:55 PM

Yes, they do, because the Nuggs 3 guys are fierce. The Lakers frontcourt is softer than a pillow.

Doesn't matter who guards Kobe... as long as the Nuggs keep on the other 4 guys, Kobe could average 80 a game and it wouldnt matter.

IC Champion 05-18-2009 06:04 PM

Im sorry but if Kobe even averages 40 a game, Lakers are winning.

I think it's more of how their absence affected their teams, more than comparing them as players. Not a chance the Lakers would have gotten embarrassed like they did had Bynum been in the line up. Not saying they would have won, because no one knows, but it would have been a better series for the Lakers.

Denver wont stop Kobe, and if at least one of our bigs (Bynum, Gasol, Odom) plays well, the Lakers will win. There's no way Denver will stop all three of them.

when he's on, he's on... not to be confused with a player when he's on, he's off....

He's a selfish player, he gave a speech opening night about he didn't event want to be a Celtics... but "since they made a trade and got KG and Allen"...

Yeah, the team did good considering all, and that's not my issue... just sick of Pierce and his crap and spending 1/2 his press conference talking about "injuries"... he never takes blame himself..

just mad annoying, doesn't mean i'd cut him, or trade him for nothing... but equal value... yeah, I do it..

He's not an MVP, he's not a team leader.

As for Davis... I think a lot of it will have to do with money, and with Ray, Paul and KG not getting any younger I could see him staying here.

I worry though with his age and weight issue, if he gets a big deal, he's not going to keep his weight down.

I was trying to say that his game looks mad ugly either way, its just that when he has a bad shooting night it looks so terrible because he puts shots that look awful, he isn't a "pretty" shooter like a Ray Allen. People just don't notice seem notice how awful the shots look when he is hitting them, which happens a lot. I haven't heard all of his speech from before the 1st game and I don't really care about it anyway. I did notice people calling into WEEI and bringing it when flicking through the stations so I'm not surprised you brought it up. All I know his with him the Celtics wouldn't won have the NBA Championship and he was the MVP of that series, not to mention he's a consensus All Star. If he brought up injuries a bunch of times I guess I haven't seen it, I only saw one quote where he mentioned how this year was still pretty successful considering all the injuries they had, which I would agree with. I don't really see that as making an excuse but maybe that's just my opinion. As for him being a leader I don't really know, I'm not in the locker room or anything but I would have to think he is after hearing the way guys talk about him in the media.

Just a quick question, do you think it was selfish of him to ask if he could guard Kobe in the NBA Finals last year when he wasn't initially?

And for the Lakers/Nuggets series everyone is asking "Who is gonna guard who?" but each team presenting some really interesting match ups going both ways. I think it will be a good series.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-20-2009 12:01 AM

Pretty much what I expected, hopefully JR Smith's injury isn't serious. That would suck, even though he didn't play all that well tonight he's an exciting player to watch and huge off the bench for Denver obviously.

SammyG 05-20-2009 12:22 AM

What a fucking game. Almost had a heart attack. We showed heart when it mattered. GOOD JOB LAKE SHOW.

SammyG 05-20-2009 12:23 AM

I underestimated Denver by the way. They showed so much resiliency and heart. They fight for every board. I respect that. Not so much JR Smith and Kenyon and Birdman, but yeah. Big ups to them. Still though, go Lakers, obviously.

From PWInsider:

Monday Night Raw will be held in Los Angeles' Staples Center, according to Los Angeles NBC affiliate KNBC. The network is reporting that World Wrestling Entertainment will be holding a press conference later today to announce the move.

Raw's move was neccesitated by the Denver Nuggets' NBA Playoff game, which has brought a ton of publicity to the situation.

There is no word yet on how tickets to Monday's event will be handled. As of this writing, there is no listing for the event on Ticketmaster.

The 2009 edition of Summerslam will also be held at the Staples Center in August.

A Captain should ask for that, but they should also understand when they need to pass and make others better.

You're right, he is always an ugly shooter.

Also, the point about they wouldn't win last year without him is moot because they wouldn't have won without Allen and/or KG...

I'm not saying he's a horrible player, I've just been sick of his attitude for a long time... and this year it just seemed to stick out more.

I've always had a dislike for Paul Pierce.

Calm down sammy. It was just a loss, and they lost to a really good team. Should be a good series.
