The dagger.
Yankees. Delete. Obsolete. |
:D Red Sox

:| Jacob deGrom needs elbow surgery. This is after letting him rest for a few weeks, him throwing a few bullpen sessions with no issue, and just yesterday they announced that he'd be starting Sunday. Now he suddenly needs surgery.
What the fuck. How can the Mets' medical staff consistently get every fucking diagnosis wrong? it's insane. |
Opening Day rotation: Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard, Jacob deGrom, Steven Matz, Bartolo Colon
September 2016 rotation: Noah Syndergaard, Bartolo Colon, Seth Lugo, Robert Gsellman, Gabriel Ynoa |
And on top of that, Thor has bone spurs. And toss in Wheeler who never pitched this year and has now missed two straight seasons. Colon is their only healthy starter and it now looks like they have no choice but to bring him back next year.
You can't build a perennial contender entirely on young pitching. You just can't. They're all so injury prone as fuck. Pretty soon pitchers will never go over 100 pitches in a game and we'll move to 6 man rotations. |
Another day in Fenway, another game the Yankees choke away.
Lose tomorrow, might as well call it a season. Though, it was a fun 2nd half. |

I haven't given up on the Orioles winning the Division but a win tonight puts them 4 games up on the 3rd place wild card teams (Seattle and Detroit) Baring a collapse the Jays are in the same spot.

I was concerned with the Yankees, but that Hanley HR killed their chances a few nights ago....
|
O's lose Jays down big.
|
:D Sox took all 4 games against the Yanks.
Hanley was amazing during the series. |
Four away against Baltimore and 3 away against the Rays and 3 away against the Yankees in the next away series.
|
The Orioles will win 3 of 4 to cut the lead to 1 game.
|
Wonder when the Os will realize its not a good idea to pitch to Betts when they are at home.
8 out of his 14 road HRs have been hit there. |
Complete Game 4-hitter for Porcello (21-4). Sox take a 4 game lead and magic number is 9.

Freddie Freeman continues to enjoy pissing in the Mets' Cheerios, and now I bet Dansby Swanson will become a Met killer too. Something about that damn Braves uniform transforms guys into Chipper Jones against the Mets.
|
If nothing else I'm glad the Mets have made things really interesting this past month, long after I had left them for dead after they got swept at home by Arizona.
I'm still pretty sure they'll fall short at the final hurdle because they're going up against two teams that just flat out turn on the jets late in the year in St. Louis and San Fran. But at least it's been a good battle. |
I like my Draft Kings lineup tonight

Betts came really close to hitting another HR at Camdien Yards this season. Just missed it by a few inches.

Yay. Mets lose a series at home to the 33-games-under-.500 Braves again.
It's gonna suck when the Mets fail to make the playoffs but keep Terry anyway just because the team finally started playing better against bad teams down the stretch. |

Detroit creeping up behind the Os
|
They're the sleeper team. Great offense and solid rotation
|
Boston really establishing dominance, though you could see it coming since August.
Jays need to do everything in their power not to eat shit for the next 11 games. |
Baltimore still has the division Dale. Boston is just peaking too early.
|
Baltimore is the best team this league has ever seen.
|
The Orioles are still getting a wild card game probably vs Toronto

Id rather the Os play Toronto in Canada then even play Seattle in Baltimore. Seattle scares me from the "they kicked the Orioles asses this year " standpoint
|
BOOM!
|
Really want Seattle to make the playoffs
|
2 teams ahead of them. So, I doubt "it's gonna be SEA"
|
Terry Collins just pulled Addison Reed who has been one of the best set up men in baseball this year in order to put in a rookie lefty. He literally knows nothing about his pitchers other than what hand they throw with. Clearly doesn't look at any of the splits.
And then he brought in Familia for a 5 out save with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out, which he predictably blew. I have never seen an on-field manager this incompetent. |
