I hate Fisher and Phil btw.

Loose Cannon 05-22-2009 02:10 PM

why?

IC Champion 05-22-2009 02:23 PM

Fisher is old and human pylon now, but Phil Jackson? Are you simple? You wouldn't be where you are without Phil.

Kris P Lettus 05-22-2009 05:16 PM

Sammy G you are being so ridiculous since the playoffs started it's not even funny..

Actually, it kind of is..

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-22-2009 05:36 PM

I find it hilarious

Kris P Lettus 05-22-2009 10:04 PM

LOL @ Peanut throwing the ball at Dwight after he got slapped in the back of the head..

SammyG 05-22-2009 10:59 PM

Because Phil is the one giving Fish that many minutes, and not playing Farmar/Brown enough, when they do a pretty good job on Billups. Also, not playing Bynum in the 4th AT ALL?! Giving him 18 mins? really? Leaving Ariza outta the 4th for like 6-7 minutes? HORRIBLE coaching. Also WHY THE FUCK play Vujacic at ALL when he is playing insanely selfish?

There are tons of Laker fans out there very pissed with Phil, and a bunch of ESPN writers have also written articles about this. It's very frustrating. The ZenMaster is beggining to lose it unfortnunately. He's becoming senile.

Kris P Lettus 05-22-2009 11:33 PM

OMf'nG

That was awesome...

Triple Naitch 05-22-2009 11:33 PM

I don't wanna sound like Smokey, but LeBron is dat nigga yo.

Kris P Lettus 05-22-2009 11:35 PM

That was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet pune right there..

I hella marked out..

RP 05-22-2009 11:35 PM

RP 05-22-2009 11:36 PM

Lebron is stupid good.

Smokey 05-23-2009 01:02 AM

Cavs goin to the championship rite now boo

DaveWadding 05-23-2009 02:09 AM

They are one basket away from being up 2-0

SammyG 05-23-2009 02:20 PM

...His substitutions were awful in game 1 too.....

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-23-2009 02:28 PM

I think the problem is the Nuggets are better than people give them credit for so people are just trying to make excuses. No matter what substitutions he makes every game is gonna be close in my opinion, this series could be 2-0 in either direction right now but instead it's 1-1.

SammyG 05-23-2009 08:10 PM

I am sweatin bullets for this game 3, not gonna lie. Pretty scared

SammyG 05-23-2009 09:52 PM

We are beyond lucky to be within 4 at the half. Lakers getting outplayed. The free throw attempts Denver has is ridiculous. That's what happens when you attack though I guess.

McLegend 05-23-2009 10:25 PM

Pretty physical game here.

McLegend 05-23-2009 10:28 PM

And now refs are calling gay fouls.

McLegend 05-23-2009 11:23 PM

I have never seen an NBA team have so much trouble in bounding the ball before.

McLegend 05-23-2009 11:24 PM

Kobe might miss these free throws here with 22.2 left

McLegend 05-23-2009 11:24 PM

So tired

McLegend 05-23-2009 11:25 PM

Wow made them both. Impressive

McLegend 05-23-2009 11:27 PM

MAMBA LAKE SHOW

RP 05-24-2009 02:58 PM

It was actually the Luke Walton show tbh. Lakers dont win that game without his defense on Melo and his passing out of the triangle.

SammyG 05-24-2009 03:06 PM

lol his defense on Melo. k.

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 04:06 PM

Lakers are still gonna lose..

SammyG 05-24-2009 04:09 PM

Keep on hatin, Krispy. So when it's Magic-Lakers in the finals, are you gonna be all suckin' on Howard's cock? Or Turkoglu's?

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 04:27 PM

What are you talking about??

I have my Hornets out of the West, the Celtics out of the East, and the Cavs because A GUY I GREW UP WITH AND THAT I USED TO SMOKE BLUNTS WITH IN HIGHSCHOOL WHO STILL LIVES IN MY HOMETOWN AND I SEE EVERY TIME HE COME BACK plays for them..

The Nugs KO'd my boys hardcore and have been playing excellent team ball with on of my favorite players of all time in Billups.. I was upset the when they made the trade for AI and new Billups would make them a contender.. From the begining of the season I wanted the Celts and the Cavs in the Eastern confrence finals, and the Hornets in the West.. Two of those three teams are out so why wouldn't I pull for a team I have personal ties with, while pulling against a team I hated for the past decade in the West??

Atleast I have some ties to the teams I pull for as in one is from my area and the other has a player that I KNOW PERSONALLY..

You are from Greece and live in Montana and are randomly are a Lakers and Rams fan, who were both dominant in the late 90's-2000's when you prolly first moved here..

As I've said for weeks, you, and people like you, are the reason I pull against the Lakers..

Eat a dick..

McLegend 05-24-2009 04:29 PM

Liking the Celtics is a clear cut violation. You will never be able to defend yourself.

Also in defense of SammyG he is from Montana... Who else is he gonna cheer for besides LA teams?

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 04:43 PM

How is liking the Celtics a clear cut violation.. As soon as they got Ray Allen and KG I knew they'd be good, and I've been a Paul Pierce fan for years..

As for who he could pull for, The Super Sonics (I know they aren't there anymore, but they were when he "picked" the Lakers), the Timberwolves, The Trailblazers, The Jazz, Golden State, The Kings, and even the Denver Nuggets are all closer to where he lives than LA..

Look at a map..

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-24-2009 04:49 PM

You know a guy on the Cavs? Haven't seen that mentioned before

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 04:52 PM

I tend to have to mention it ever time I say something about the Cavs cause SammyG acts like I'm a fairweather fan..

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 04:56 PM

The Clippers are closer to him also..

Forgot about them..

Exactly you were pulling for them when you knew they would be good. Why didn't you pull for them when they won 17 games the year before?

GOD DAMNIT

You have said before that you were a Pistons fan before. I would accept that, because you did not grow up with an NBA team. Now though if you have flip-flopped on that you are now far worse then SammyG.

He grew up with a team no where near him. He is allowed to pick any team he wants. He has chosen LA teams. That is fine and I will accept that. SAmmyG is only a joke when he defends Kobe Bryant on subject or for saying "Kobe Doin Work" was great or whatever words he used. That was a joke, and clearly being a mark.

I understand it though, because Kobe is great, but it was still hilarious.

I was a Celtics fan before that, but you can't really pull for a team in the playoff, you know, when they don't make it..

Chauncy Billups was a HUGE reason I pulled for the Pistons in the first place.. Funny how he plays for the team that I am now pulling for, against a team that I hate..

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 06:28 PM

As a b-ball fan (same with football), once my team is out, I want to best possible matchup, for the entertainment value..

Really not that hard to figure out..

SammyG 05-24-2009 06:35 PM

Uh. I am a Rams, Dodgers, Lakers fans because my dad used to live in Los Angeles, and when we were living in Greece, that's what he raised me on. He taught me to love American sports, and since he used to live in LA, he passed on the love of Los Angeles teams to me. (Obviously, Rams were in Los Angeles back then, before they moved to St.Louis)

I am not some random bandwagon fan. I am an LA fan because that's what my dad raised me on.

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 06:38 PM

Just like I am a Cavs fan because they got Mo Williams..

SammyG 05-24-2009 06:39 PM

Whoa I missed a lot in here. So I basically got called a bandwagon fan, then McLegend came in here? what is going on. should read this.

You think Lakers-Cavs is not the best possible matchup?

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 06:44 PM

Nope.. I think the Nugs Cavs would be..

Lebron vs Kobe would be sick, but Mello has actually been playing better D than Kobe.. Mello vs Bron would be sick nasty..

Never said you were a bandwagon fan.. I just said the arguement is there that you are much more of one than me, who has been pulling for the same 4 teams all season..

Hornets
Pistons
Celtics
Cavs

I started to hate the Pistons when they traded Billups, which is one reason I am pulling for the Nugs now.. That and that I hate the Lakers..

Loose Cannon 05-24-2009 06:50 PM

Sammy is not a bandwagon fan or any variation of one if all the teams he like are from LA. He likes the Rams for god sakes.

I, like most here, don't pull for multiple teams from the same league. I can understand pulling for the Cavs once the Hornets got eliminated, but 4 teams all season? That's a lot of teams for me

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 06:55 PM

Hornets and Cavs are the only ones I watched every national game for.. It's really not the "same league" cause I'd never pull for another western team except when the Hornets aren't playing anymore..

Kind of like the NFL.. I am a die hard Saints fan, but I also like the Ravens, Jags, and Pitt.. I'd never pull for another NFC team though..

McLegend 05-24-2009 08:49 PM

Cavs have to stop doubling Howard.

RP 05-24-2009 08:49 PM

I'm the biggest Orlando fan there is basically.

It's science.

SammyG 05-24-2009 10:16 PM

This game is really boring and ugly. By the way I don't know if I've ever seen Ilgauskas miss a perimeter jump shot that's not a three.

McLegend 05-24-2009 10:32 PM

The Refs are terrible here.

Good Lord

McLegend 05-24-2009 11:10 PM

There is a whistle every time down the floor.

Loose Cannon 05-24-2009 11:39 PM

Cavs fucked themselves on this one. Nobody could shoot. To me, Orlando has looked better in every game now. Nobody can guard Howard. Every time he got the ball in the paint tonight, he just muscled everyone or he was fouled. Cavs had tons of chances to make a run, but their terrible shooting fucked them

McLegend 05-24-2009 11:44 PM

Their shooting was terrible, but Cavs still had a great shot to win this game. Lebron was getting good looks, and it seemed like he had a lot of balls that went in and out. They shouldn't feel all that bad about their chances here.

I think Cavs in 6, but they have to find an answer for Mickeal Pietrus. Also Mo Williams has make some shots.

SammyG 05-25-2009 12:14 AM

Cavs in 6? No way. If Cleveland is gonna win this, it's gonna be in 7 games. I am really thinking Orlando is going up 3-1...

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-25-2009 01:20 AM

Somebody else on the Cavs needs to step it up offensively, depend wayyy too much on LeBron to either score or set up someone else to score.

DaveWadding 05-25-2009 02:04 AM

http://i44.tinypic.com/wiaw68.jpg

How was this a foul?

PS: Dwight Howard > you

Juan 05-25-2009 02:14 AM

Yeah that def was not a foul.

SammyG 05-25-2009 02:17 AM

lol 24 free throws for Bron? GTFO

Ninti the Mad 05-25-2009 02:20 AM

LeBron is such a little bitch. He always gets the calls when there is no foul involved.

I hope Orlando destroys them.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-25-2009 03:30 AM

He does get fouled a lot. That one obviously wasn't a foul though.

It kinda looked like a foul when it happened live just because of the weird ass angle so I can't fault the ref that much. Also it was a meaningless foul anyway, the game was already decided at that point so who cares?

Howard was up around 20 FTA himself, so many fouls called in this series - gotta be some type of playoff record.

I was a Kings fan back in the day..

Krimzon7 05-25-2009 11:45 AM

Not that I really care nor do I think it really matters but I find it funny you are calling out SammyG for liking certain teams but you've listed like 18 NBA teams that you like/have liked in this thread.

I think any Finals combo will be a good match-up but I'd rather see the Cavs/Nuggets. I hate the Lakers and I think the Cavs are more exciting to watch than the Magic. I wouldn't mind seeing Howard beast on all the 7 foot softies the Lakers have tho

Jeritron 05-25-2009 03:54 PM

Baseball is the only sport I really like other teams in, and even still I just enjoy them or their players, and don't root for the team.

I'm strictly a fan of the Boston sports teams. I've never understood the pick and choose method other fans around the country use.

I do respect that Krispy is a Celts/Pierce fan though

SammyG 05-25-2009 03:56 PM

So Krispy is/has been a

Hornets
Pistons
Cavs
Nuggets
Kings

fan? Anything I am missing?

Before we got the Hornets there was no team near where I live...

I wasn't calling you out on it, just saying that it's ridiculous to call me out on it when I've been pulling for the Cavs since they got Mo Williams..

All I'm saying..

Kris P Lettus 05-25-2009 05:05 PM

Also, just because I am pulling for the Nuggets doesn't mean I am a "fan".. I like Chauncy Billups and I hate the Lakers.. Only reason I'm pulling for them..

Icess 05-25-2009 11:36 PM

Here, I was scared that the Nuggets would show up tonight...

Now I'm wishing the refs didn't.

Juan 05-25-2009 11:43 PM

Good God, there's a whistle blown every 2 mins. This is ridiculous.

Icess 05-25-2009 11:47 PM

And no call after no call. Thank god Carmello is a defensive wiz nowadays. Otherwise every time he guards someone while slapping them, the game might be slowed down.

Savio 05-26-2009 12:12 AM

Melo needs to get his head back in the game next game

Icess 05-26-2009 12:17 AM

He does, but the flu is serious buisness... He shouldn't be completely discounted

FearedSanctity 05-26-2009 12:19 AM

Pretty sure 'Melo had the flu, while not crippling, I'd assume it fucks your game up a bit

SammyG 05-26-2009 12:25 AM

Umm...

1. Dahntay Jones needs to be suspended. Look at that shit, come on.

2. Do we know what a fucking rebound is?

3. Very disappointed in our lack of intensity.

4. Phil is retarded for not playing Ariza in the 4th, and going with a lineup of Brown-Sasha-Odom-Powell-Pau. He hasn't played that lineup ALL YEAR, and he put that lineup in right when we made it a 3 point game. COME ON YOU SENILE OLD FUCK.

5. I thoroughly expect the Lakers to win game 5, lose game 6, and win this in 7.

6. PEACE

Oh, wait...

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-26-2009 01:17 AM

I don't think Jones will be suspended for tripping Kobe, if an elbow to the chest isn't worth a suspension why should that be? I also don't agree with Van Gundy comparing it to Alston slapping Eddie House in the head, the trip happened in the "heat of action" (much like the elbows to the chest which has happened a few times during the playoffs) while Alston's slap was well after the play.

I still can't believe Birdman has a normal looking haircut when he doesn't spike it up, don't know why but that seems real wild to me.

SammyG 05-26-2009 01:26 AM

lol Icess, just let it go. His teams lose out, but he tries to talk shit to teams that have made it way further than his teams did. Talking shit when the Suns don't make the playoffs, when his Cubs get destroyed by my Dodgers. Sore loser, let it be.

SammyG 05-26-2009 01:27 AM

Dunno Stima, Kobe was gonna blow by him and he straight up kicked his leg. It's just just a trip. Gotta watch that again. That's gotta be assessed a flagrant 2, a suspension, something.

Icess 05-26-2009 01:31 AM

While I don't think that it will warrant a suspension, this is two blatant "flagrant fouls" that were not called on Jones. I don't want a suspension, I do want the NBA to say "while this is playoff basketball, we won't allow the game to get out of hand". The game degraded into a blacktop event in the fourth because the refs were so off their game tonight. It's not an excuse for the Lakers, as the Nuggets simply crashed boards better. A ton of those rebounds could have been "tickey takey" over the back calls that shouldn't be called, but when you add blatant "miss calls" it just seems to take away from win, regardless of the victor. Bryant didn't get many "regular" calls, Bynum got a silly flagrant towards the end that was absolutely the result of the refs prejudging a situation. Had the refs called real fouls towards the beggining of the game, tempers may have not flared on both sides, as it was a situation of "what can we get away with" in the end (mostly by the Nuggets imo)

Credit where it's due, I thought the Nuggets would win, but I wish it was "clean".

I love quotation marks

Icess 05-26-2009 02:32 AM

Well at least he doesn't root for 27 teams....

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-26-2009 04:00 AM

I think Bynum's flagrant will get taken away. That foul looked bad live but when they showed the replay he was definitely going for the ball but just accidentally knocked Birdman's headband off on the way.

Everyone seems to be making a huge deal out of the trip so maybe I am wrong but I just don't see it. I think it should be a flagrant foul but I really don't see how its grounds for a suspension. It was definitely an intentional foul to stop Kobe from getting to the bucket but those happen all the time when a defender gets beat. I know its a different sport but offensive players trip blatantly trip defensive players all the time in the NFL even though its against the rules/a personal foul. If people are making a big deal out of it because Jones had a few other incidents then that would make more sense to me, I didn't see any of the 1st half/some of the 2nd.

Not a fan of Phil Jackson, he is such a little bitch in the post game press conferences all the time. I really hope he never wins another title.
