sWo 4 lyf.... too sweet

Seems strange that you start out with the Minutemen regardless, I was hoping you had the option to turn heel on them at some point

Heisenberg 11-24-2015 09:07 AM

there's a possible scenario, but not tested here, but Preston Garvey of the jobberMen threatened me with an ultimatum about choosing the job over BoS one day. It would create an interesting scenario in faction breakups in court and how we'd divide the settlements and settler slaves...

road doggy dogg 11-24-2015 09:10 AM

If I have the option of taking a Fat Man to Marcy Long I'm all fucking in.

Heisenberg 11-24-2015 09:11 AM

Marcy and Mama Murphy are walking around with the Harness and Gas Mask combo right now in Sanctuary, I chose to keep Mama off the drugs this time around and will pay her back eventually

drave 11-24-2015 10:34 AM

Should build a nice settlement, then Fat Man it to hayell!!!

then reload :shifty:

Found some pipe that gives bonus DMG for every addiction your character has. Could potentially be a very brutal melee weapon if your character is a junkie.

I mini-nuked my gardeners, can you destroy man made buildings?

road doggy dogg 11-24-2015 10:39 AM

WTB Red Faction's physics engine

drave 11-24-2015 11:21 AM

Fallout 4 - With Frostbite 3

@Your Kingship

Not sure if buildings break or not, gonna try.

Heisenberg 11-24-2015 11:45 AM

you'd think there would be a legion of clips if you could destroy buildings, equipped with an Andrew W K wreck'em PC mod

drave 11-24-2015 11:57 AM

True.

Maybe post-nuclear wood and metal is super duper tough.

drave 11-24-2015 11:59 AM

Oh yea, on some of the Silver whatever missions in Goodneighbor were amazing.

There were a set of two people that I had to "merc" because they were plotting to take me out. One of them had a gang of about 7 people with them. Sneak + death from above with 3 grenades sent the bodies flying. Was seriously one of the more "fun moments" for me. Fought "The Courser" with a missile launcher, muahahaha!

It was neat scavenging entire loot caches from severed body parts.

Heisenberg 11-24-2015 12:01 PM

gonna play Tool's "Sober" and destroy all my settlers in The Castle once I build it up a bit

drave 11-24-2015 12:03 PM

FINALLY feel like I can actually do some damage. Found a pretty amazing automatic pipe rifle off a super mutant yesterday.

I have a bolt-action rifle I modded with quick reload. It was a "unique" rifle I got off a legendary mob early on. There are some other mods to it too, but I can't remember them right now. Either way, shots almost always cause mobs to stagger, if it doesn't just blow off limbs altogether. Usually VATS 1st shot on the weapon (dick) hand, 2 to torso and 1 to the head.

BIG CARNAGE, BIG MONEY I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!

drave 11-24-2015 12:04 PM

Probably helps I started taking perks to increase gun dmg too.....

I can lockpick and hack the shit outta shit though :D

Heisenberg 11-24-2015 12:04 PM

one of the basic stats goes towards damage doesn't it? It something I don't take for granted on my second run

drave 11-24-2015 12:09 PM

Gun damage? Not sure. Strength directly impacts melee damage though.

Idea for a sadistic FO4 Youtube video. Play the following song, while ringing a bell to gather all your settlers. Let part of the speech play, edit/chop it how you need and then start the extermination around 4:55 of the music video. Would be epic. If what I am trying to write isn't clear, just listen to the whole god damn thing, and you'll get it.

Tasty trivia: Maynard and I share the same MOS(Military Occupational Specialty), Forward Observer

drave 11-24-2015 01:08 PM

Is it true that another name for that is FISTer ?

Heisenberg 11-24-2015 01:10 PM

Yep, FIre SupporTER

Heisenberg 11-24-2015 01:53 PM

Tips:

1. On the Lone Wanderer perk: Having DogMeat with you still grants you the perk's benefits, if you can handle the dog being with you

2. Adhesive shortage can be combated with producing the Vegetable Starch you can create at the chem lab: tatos, corn etc

3. You can sell Fusion Cores for a good price as long as they have a little juice left(1/100 juice even), when they are depleted it's worth piss

4. Power conduits placed on houses will power everything in the house and won't take any power from your compound(I am going to test this some more, seems too good to be true)

5. Weapon mods can be taken off weapons and put on others, some of the mods require you to change to a standard version, but the mod you replace gets put in your inventory, take them over to your workshop and put them in your inventory to be put on another weapon you'd like to supe up(Mods have their own tab or are close to the Misc/Junk tabs)

6. Contrary to popular belief, they didn't take out the Wait option, you just have to sit down on chairs/couches etc. and press the key you have for Wait(Y for Xbox, Triangle for PS4, PC w/e button, depends on if you messed with it, it shows up, love you PC ppl, just don't know what button yo, my bad)

7. Brackets in Hacking Terminal pages, []{}, <--- those things, finding them bunched together will cause them to highlight together! When you press them they give you bonuses like taking words out or resetting your attempts.

drave 11-24-2015 02:04 PM

FOCK! How did I miss that? I have had companions for mules basically, nothing more. Hell, more times than most they fuck things up anyway.

DEFINITELY going to take that perk ASAP.

Thanks to #GamingWithTheKing for these amazing tips.

road doggy dogg 11-24-2015 02:09 PM

Yeah word @ those tips

In addition, you can make Cutting Fluid from the Chemistry Bench thing if you're short on Oil, which happens a lot when building defenses. Mats are pretty easy to get, the only one I tend to be short on from time to time is Bones, which you can salvage from the random bones you come across... I find Super Mutants tend to have a lot of them in their meat bags

Heisenberg 11-24-2015 02:15 PM

I'm adding more as I go, I'm learning some of these myself

IRONICALLY I'm pretty "good" so far... yet I look like this...

3 - At some point, my game negated 3 and I ended up with a 0/100 core in my inventory that I was able to sell at full price. It was definitely empty, as it actually cycled out while piloting the gundam. Never got it to repeat, and all subsequent empties disappear from my pockets. Also, looks like suits piloted by anyone but you don't actually drain core, and I used this to my advantage by having a follower heft them from place to place/transport extras to other settlements for docking.

4 - I noticed that, too! Thought I just miscounted how much power I ran, and wrote it off as such. Thanks!

Also, sometimes if you move a light, it stops working properly; either the light box doesn't show up or the bulb(s) still appear dark, or both even in a spot where it should draw power. Just store it and place it again, and it works like it should.

Got 10 hours into my second playthrough, not going to finish the main story a for a long time or at all in this one. So much stuff I missed and all I've done mainly is quest in Diamond City and Good Neighbor. Big fan of Good Neighbor.

Does it have a "New Game +" or you just started with a different character/taking the good/evil path to experience the one you didn't last time?

drave 11-26-2015 06:42 AM

Fresh start, no new game +

Kris P Lettus 11-26-2015 08:17 AM

Something that I thought about yesterday, how does anyone have "foreign" accents? Like, there has been 200 years of apocalypse. Not really like people are new to the country. Just a small detail I feel has been overlooked.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-26-2015 04:53 PM

There isn't enough Boston accents in the game.

It probably has to do with people staying close to home and learning how their parents spoke. There wouldn't be a lot of traveling after a nuclear war. You as the character have to do everything for everybody so they don't get around much.

El Capitano Gatisto 11-26-2015 06:17 PM

I don't think that much thought has gone into it.

Sepholio 11-27-2015 12:22 AM

Now that I swam out to Spectacle Island I have the sudden urge to build an entire city to rival Boston.

Sepholio 11-27-2015 12:23 AM

Then when it's fully populated I'm going to get addicted to every chem ever and go apeshit with my Junkie's Sword.

The Rogerer 11-27-2015 05:06 AM

At some point during Fallout 3's development, they had to change the story from just after the bombs fell, to 200 years after the bombs fell, because they didn't want it to be a prequel for some reason. You had Moriarty in Megaton talking about coming over on the boat from Ireland.

I think that weirdness has just continued. Bethesda don't think too much about some stuff.

Kris P Lettus 11-27-2015 07:50 AM

Yeah. It was just a weird passing thought I had while dealing with the brothers would own The Dug Out or whatever in Diamond City. It adds variety to the characters so I'm sure that's why they kept doing it. Good call on Moriarty though.

Shadow 11-27-2015 12:34 PM

Actually we're not so clear on what happened to the rest of the world during WWIII. Could be that people are immigrating all the time. Would explain the accents on the East Coast.

El Capitano Gatisto 11-27-2015 12:45 PM

There a lot of issues with it being 200 years post-nuclear war if you think about it for long enough. I think the game does a good job of creating its own internal reality and atmosphere to the extent where it doesn't bother me. I think that's why I much prefer it to Skyrim, despite the gameplay being fairly similar (although the combat in Skyrim is the fucking pits).

Sepholio 11-27-2015 05:04 PM

All of that makes me want a fallout prequel. Maybe not right after the bombs fell, but like 25-50 years after. Maybe set during when all the mutations are first starting to show.
