He's like 290 now, but he slimmed down from 328 (billed, let's say 310-315 realistically) and back then he wasn't fat.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-04-2010 03:15 PM

Joe should start wearing polka dot tights and call himself the Samoan Dream.

Joesgonnakillyou 08-04-2010 03:29 PM

The 'new Umaga'?

Book it.

I'd pay to see that.

WOW, I just got an image of Joe dancing around in yellow dots with Rosie Lottalove in polka dots.

Innovator 08-04-2010 04:27 PM

IF YOU WILL

Especially now that he's getting older. The guy is now 31, but given his size and the style he works, he probably won't be one of those guys that can go forever. When he signed with TNA, he would have been like 26 or something. He was considered "young" by wrestling standards, and he was a hot prospect at the time. He had a long future ahead of him, but now he's sort of in his prime years and doing nothing with it.

If Joe ever thought about joining the WWE, it's probably a "I'm going to do it now before there's no interest in me" thing. The only thing that would stop Joe from signing is if he still has that "artist's mentality" where he doesn't want to conform even for the big bucks.

I think CM Punk's being in the WWE and doing so well there could help to convince Joe that he can go to the WWE and still be Samoa Joe.

itsmeJD 08-05-2010 11:27 AM

If Joe goes to the E I see Vince putting him with the Usos and dub them Samoan Swat Team 2.0....which I guess would make him the new Samoan Savage.

And then he'd quit the next day.

Punk wasn't viewed as the face of TNA. Samoa Joe is.

Vince would want Joe to come to WWE so he could job him out and put him in funny skits on Raw with Santino and Kozlov. If Christian and Gail Kim can't get decent pushes, no way in hell Joe would. Not to mention he'd probably have to do two years in FCW to learn the "WWE style."

Mr. Nerfect 08-05-2010 09:21 PM

I think Joe would bypass a lot of that developmental stuff. He's got friends in high places, and while he might not be given the "keys to the company" or anything, I think they'd use him as a strong mid-carder at the very least. I could see him being put with The Usos, but it'd need to keep with their "We're a new breed of Samoan" thing.

But Danielson was only in FCW for about a few months before getting called to the main roster.

Xero 08-05-2010 09:25 PM

Who are his "friends in high places"? Because Punk ain't one.

Destro 2.0 08-05-2010 09:29 PM

No actually Joe and Punk are best friends. If he leaves and I hope he does because he just too good. I hope to see him in Japan or ROH again.

Xero 08-05-2010 09:37 PM

I mean Punk isn't "in high places".

But from the stories the hobgoblin manufactures. Vince has been high on Punk lately.

Yeah that worked out so well for Danielson.

Also, come on bro. He's clearly fat. LOOK:

That is fat. It's very clearly fat. There is no debate.

The only reason Samoa Joe has a towel around his neck when he comes out is so that it will cover his manboobs...Haha.

Fox 08-06-2010 01:27 AM

As far as the "Joe is Fat" stuff goes, I don't really understand it from a company's perspective.

Look out at the audience at any wrestling show in the country and tell me there aren't a shitload of fat guys. So, what's wrong with giving these fat guys someone to look up to in the wrestling business; someone who, like Joe, can actually wrestle and put on incredible matches. If he were a fat piece of shit with a terrible work rate that would be another story entirely.

Aguakate 08-06-2010 01:34 AM

Ever since Bischoff and Hogan got there, we have seen less and less of Samoa Joe, for some reason...maybe Eric isn't a huge fan of his or something? I mean, he's a former Champion...you would think he would be involved in important storylines.

Its because Hogan and Bitchoff only like big Muscular men who were underwear so they can masturbate to it and Bitchoff can pimp his wife out to someone new. Hell look at Rob Terry no talent or Charisma at all but the roids have him with no fat at all. But this also doesn't explain why they have been pushing Abyss like they have. I know Hogan wants to make him the Next John Cena whatever that fuck means.

But Joe should be removed from Suspension and put into a feud with RVD. Then have him go over RVD. Its gotta be him or Nigel McGuniness. But, alas TNA does not nor will the ever know how to create new stars.

Vastardikai 08-06-2010 05:25 AM

It just goes back to the major problem with these "Wars."

WWE Management is lazy.
TNA Management is incompetent.

laziness trumps incompetence.

Domino 08-06-2010 05:13 PM

I met Joe in Houston. I'll never forget what he told me. "We put on a good show when they let us." I guess he finally got fed up, haha.

Well he is conforming for no bucks right now.

Brigstocke 08-06-2010 05:39 PM

Isn't his 'Speed and Agility for a big man' the whole point?. Thats what Joe does and always has sold himself on.

As if it matters at all that he's a bit of a tubster, so were countless numbers of good workers (Vader, Bigelow, Bossman, Bubba Dudley, Albert et al) and fatties are an important part of any roster.

Would Mark Henry have a job if it wasn't for his sheer size? Wrestling companies use fatties to make smaller guys look good when they beat them.

Always have and always will.

VSG 08-06-2010 05:58 PM

Aren't you supposed to remain in Casual?

Brigstocke 08-06-2010 06:09 PM

Bingo. Which is why I do agree with you when you say that Joe's time in TNA might not last too much longer.

And that was a good post, Brigstocke.
