Tony Gonzalez is the first TE with 1000 catches for his career (only the 7th all time)

Evil Vito 09-12-2010 02:47 PM

Awful across the board on special teams, no room to run thanks to the line getting toasted, 90% of Eli's passes bouncing off the intended targets, Coughlin's decision to go with 2 TEs backfiring immediately.

Ugh. Hope Coughlin is ripping them a new asshole right now.

ClockShot 09-12-2010 02:49 PM

Broncos name Tebow #2 starter.

So. Does this mean the end of Brady Quinn's career? Or does he get the Leinart Treatment?

Willing to eat my own words if he pulls it together before the season is over. It may have been a minor injury. But come on.. Was PUMPED to see him back in action this season, and the guy can't even last a single game in the regular season after taking all that time recovering. Waste of a roster position at this point. Bullitt needs to have a season like in '08, and he could fill the spot nicely.

Emperor Smeat 09-12-2010 02:50 PM

Bengals special teams is horrible today. Just gave up a kickoff return TD to start the 2nd half.

31-3 Patriots and only 12 seconds into the 3rd Q.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-12-2010 02:53 PM

No, the other TD was on an INT. But yes, they are horrible.

Pretty sure the team has already quit and it's halftime of Week 1. Good stuff outta Cincy.

RoXer 09-12-2010 02:54 PM

I bet you can remember '08 like it was yesterday

Way to play with no heart Colts

Also, Lovie Smith should lose his job for that 4th and goal call. Decided not to take the lead with a FG and instead wanted to run the ball and got stopped

Goodbye Lovie.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-12-2010 03:40 PM

Come on Falcons. You can do it, babies.

RP 09-12-2010 03:46 PM

offensive line looks like shit, defensive line looks like shit. Special teams is very average.

Colts look like an 8-8 team right now

Supreme Olajuwon 09-12-2010 04:12 PM

Undrafted free agent Arian Foster

Supreme Olajuwon 09-12-2010 04:16 PM

OssMan 09-12-2010 04:19 PM

wtf @ giants game

Emperor Smeat 09-12-2010 04:22 PM

Panthers possessions in the 2nd half ended up being 2 fumbles (1 lost), 2 INTs, and 2 punts.

Boomer 09-12-2010 04:34 PM

The Falcons will improve throughout the year. The defense looked awesome, bar the last play of the game.

Evil Vito 09-12-2010 04:34 PM

Matt Moore probably is already gonna be demoted to backup.

Ugly win, but hey, a win's a win. Can't help but think the secondary is gonna be torched by Peyton next week tho.

Fucking love Adrian Wilson right now.

OssMan 09-12-2010 04:42 PM

BS rule. When a guy can palm the football and puts his hand down to get up he's not dropping the fucking catch.

If Stafford's not badly injured plenty of reason for optimism for Detroit though.

VonErichLives 09-12-2010 05:06 PM

good game, good win, not overly excited except the Bengals should have a good offense with those big WR and Benson... felt the D did pretty well, gave up a little at the end but some of that was garbage time.

Also, props to Ocho playing till the end, taking that hit and congratulating the Patriot that nailed him.

so, how many more games like that till TO is well... "TO"...

DaveWadding 09-12-2010 05:09 PM

Adrian Wilson is a freezer chest.

Not trying to be negative, just stating the facts that it was an ugly win. Moore was able to rack up some yardage, especially on 3rd down. Thankfully he sucks so he threw 3 picks in the end zone.

Liked Bradshaw turning it on towards the end.

Seemed like Seubert was getting burned a ton. May not be long before Andrews gets the starting nod.

Dodge sucks, but Coughlin won't waste a practice squad spot so I doubt the Giants cut him in favor of a veteran.

The return of Bear Pascoe next week is almost definite. Love that guy.

Evil Vito 09-12-2010 05:41 PM

Means nothing to me. He could have allowed the catch from poor coverage and tackled him late. Or from being out of position.

Give it time Vito, you'll see it my way.

Most of his tackles came against the run or on short dump-off passes where the LBs were covering.

But when the Giants signed him, all you said was that he can't tackle. So suck it. :foc:

Mark Claytons got over 100 yards receiving for the Rams but doesn't show up when it counts just like last year.

D Mac 09-12-2010 07:48 PM

Haha fucking Colts lost.

Gonzo 09-12-2010 07:56 PM

First game at the new stadium was awesome.

The team looked pretty anemic all around in the first half. They turned it around in the first half. The only thing I hate about seeing a game in person is that it's tough to analyze some aspects as well as you would on TV.

From what I could tell:

- Special teams coverage was pretty suspect all game long. In a related note, Matt Dodge blows.
- The run game was pretty poor. We racked up over 100+ combined between Bradshaw and Jacobs, but I feel it was just because they ended up with 30+ carries. I don't feel it was a real "threat." The offensive line seemed to have no push off the ball.
- The defense forced the Panthers into some favorable third down situations, and gave up the first on a handful. Definitely need to shore that up. Tough to say what kind of schemes were being called in those situations. Loved that the defense tightened up in the red zone. The pressure on the QB seemed to be better in the second half. I feel like there may have been some actual adjustments by the coaching staff, as opposed to last year with Bill Sheridan.
- Maybe it was rust, maybe weather, but some of Eli's passes were a bit off point. His INT's came off deflections from balls that could have been caught, but they definitely seemed to be less than ideal on the throw.

D Mac 09-12-2010 07:58 PM

KC will win tomorrow night and be 1-0. Everyone else in the AFC West will be 0-1.

Droford 09-12-2010 08:01 PM

Cant wait for tomorrow night.

CSL 09-12-2010 08:01 PM

Tony Dungy still perfecting his 'Cleveland Brown in a lower key' impression.

SammyG 09-12-2010 08:02 PM

Heart Break city :(

D Mac 09-12-2010 08:03 PM

Well the good news SammyG is that Bradford got that first game under his belt. He looked pretty good considering some of the mistakes he made. He'll grow.

SammyG 09-12-2010 08:06 PM

I understand that, but wtf @ Spags not calling a timeout there at the end. WTF @ fumbling the ball at the goal line by Ryan, wtf @ the blocked field goal, wtf @ the 3 dropped balls on that last drive. Bradford, I was satisfied with. You can't, however, have your rookie QB throw 55 passes, and only give your best player 22 touches that whole game. Very winnable game

CSL 09-12-2010 08:24 PM

Its actually not that funny since 1 of my fantasy teams has like 5 cowpokes on it but still..

Skins burn 2 timeouts in the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half.

ITs Graham Gano...doncha know!..and then the Boys are offside and give the Redskins a first down negating the FG...whoops.

lol botched fg attempt and they end up with no points..

I guess that penalty was "smart"..took the points off the board.

Joey Slugs 09-12-2010 11:17 PM

It's always a good weekend when the Vikings and Cowboys lose

Droford 09-12-2010 11:23 PM

If the Cowboys march down the field with 1:50 left and score a TD to win 14-13, that negated FG will have been huge.

I almost expect it to happen...

Joey Slugs 09-12-2010 11:32 PM

Id fire Phillips on principle for the stupid play call on the last play of the first half that resulted in the TD that essentially won the game for the Redskins.

RoXer 09-13-2010 12:53 AM

No shit. I'm convinced if the Cowboys had a better coach they'd be miles ahead..get Phillips outta there

Fignuts 09-13-2010 02:45 AM

Oh look. Buffalo is awful.

Shocker there.

RP 09-13-2010 07:40 AM

I'm pretty sure the Colts are not going to the playoffs this year

Defense = horrible

Offensive line = horrible

Run game = horrible

Special teams = horrible

They threw the ball 50 times and ran it 10 times. I'd like to know what the fuck Jim Caldwell and his staff have been doing all off season. I dont know what the fuck that was . That was like getting ran over for almost 300 yards against the Jags 3 years ago.

Oh yah and Manning might not make it a whole season. He took so many shots yesterday. Someone is gunna rip his head off. He has to pass the ball 50 times a game just to keep this team in the game. Thats not good.

RP 09-13-2010 07:41 AM

The stupid thing is, Manning was fantastic. If Austin Collie doesnt fumble the football on that long catch play, the Colts of actually had a shot at pulling off another comeback, despite being horrible at every facet of the game other then QB.

FearedSanctity 09-13-2010 07:47 AM

Texans have had it in for the Colts like this for years, bro. Wouldn't read too much into it. But if you guys want, plz play like that in Week 3?

Ermaximus 09-13-2010 09:24 AM

And weeks 4 and 15.

Boomer 09-13-2010 09:27 AM

As much as Michael Vick is responsible for me getting into football, I'm glad he's no longer a Falcon. For every time he does something amazing, he seems to make a boneheaded decision that nullifies all benefit. Forgetting he is on the field is the worst decision any defense can make, though.
