It was more than just that though. The whole episode was surreal.

Gertner 12-11-2011 03:34 PM

Awesome episode. Can't believe it's the season finale tonight already!

Gertner 12-12-2011 12:12 PM

Start banging Jimmy's mom

Gertner 12-13-2011 01:20 PM

Knowing what I know from researching the Mob in school, Van Alden and Capone are going to be intertwined. It showed in the last episode the Van Alden moved to Cicero, Illinois, which is where the headquarters were for Al Capone in real life.

CSL 12-13-2011 01:44 PM

about time Stephen Graham/Capone had a bigger role, he's been excellent for years

Skippord 12-13-2011 04:32 PM

hope Harrow snaps, turns heel, and turns into a badass sniping machine

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-14-2011 10:24 PM

So. Intense.

I think that the show has officially peeked. I don't think it can be as good as it was this season. At the very least it'll need season three to build up to a huge season four crescendo. Killing off Jimmy while I'll say was the right move because it was logical as far as the characters and plot go, removes a key element from the show. One they may have to build back up over time.

Though Harrow could take over from Jimmy's role. It's hard to say at this point.

Lock Jaw 12-16-2011 06:35 PM

HOLY SHIT.

Once again I fell exactly three episodes behind. Caught up and finished the season today.

Honestly have no idea where this show goes without Jimmy.

Jimmy was a dead man walking. I can see the plots kinda of dividing off. From a historical perspective it looks like Capone and Van Alden will have their own little thing, Luciano's rise will occur soon and Nucky/ Margaret and wherever that's going leads me to believe a bunch of different stories, all intertwining at some point.

Tommy Gunn 12-17-2011 03:55 PM

SPOILER: show
It was a HOLY SHIT moment for me when Jimmy's wife got popped, I couldn't believe it. I was sad to see her go, and then Jimmy get's killed off... :wtf:

I'll be completely honest, this has gone from a must see show to something I'm probably leave behind, maybe in the future I'll check out season 3. I was pretty invested in Jimmy as the 2nd main character. It'd be like killing Scully in the early seasons of The X Files.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-18-2011 02:09 PM

Explain logically how they could have kept him alive without it going against everything the show is about. As Gert said best, he was a dead man walking. If the writing had no balls they'd have kept him alive. But they went the route that epic drama goes, and they killed a main character. Don't let mancrushes get in the way of watching good television. I would imagine to make up for it, Richard Harrow is going to play a much bigger part, which can never be a bad thing.
