Fuckin love this show, So excited for the finale.

Lock Jaw 04-22-2011 09:03 PM

Good episode tonight.

Though I'm not sure I buy the glasses/nerd thing working now after years of people knowing him/meeting him as the confident dude without glasses. People will see Superman on TV and be all like "Hey! That's Clark Kent!"

McLegend 04-22-2011 09:06 PM

Yeah but this is Smallville. Logic has gone out the window along time ago.

You are right it doesn't make any sense though.

McLegend 04-22-2011 09:39 PM

Also there is probably going to be some sort of memory wipe somewhere along the line. So it might not matter that much.

I guess you are right as well.

Optimus Bone 69 04-24-2011 06:47 PM

Really thought hes was coming out the phone booth in the suit
what a tit

VSG 04-24-2011 06:53 PM

The suit is in the fortress, kept by Jor-El till he thinks Clark Kent is "ready".

Kalyx triaD 04-24-2011 07:04 PM

Lex. Luthor.

The suit.

I think... I'm going to cry at the finale.

VSG 04-24-2011 07:07 PM

Only the Lost finale has done that to me so far though.

Volchok 04-26-2011 04:05 PM

I really hope we get to see him fly away in the suit in the final frame.

VSG 05-01-2011 01:05 PM

Spartacus Clark Kent did not impress me :n:

I feel they are losing the plot on Darkseid here.

McLegend 05-06-2011 11:10 PM

A few things

SPOILER: show
What was that Oliver had in the end there?

Also if that was Kara's last episode which I assume it is. That was a bad ending for her.

I know I said logic was thrown out the window years ago in Smallville, but Lois never had to put that star on. She could have just picked up Clark taken him to the fortress, and been back at the Jail Cell in like 2.5 seconds.

Also can Smallville legally use the word "Superman?" If they can't use it I will be mighty pissed.

Overall it was ok tonight. I'm pumped for the finale, and I really am interested to see how it turns out.

Dark-Slicer Diago 05-07-2011 07:45 AM

SPOILER: show
I think what he had at end looked a bit like Gold Kryptonite but I'm not certain, and if they were able to have the Superman name as the headline of the paper when Clark spoke his future self I don't see why they can't use it in the Finale next week.

Reavant 05-07-2011 03:30 PM

Warner bros produces the show and well the entire network for that matter so yes superman is legal

Gray 05-07-2011 04:12 PM

SPOILER: show
Yeah it was Gold Kryptonite. I remember seeing in one of the trailers/promo's ages ago someone holding the Gold Kryptonite at the Fortress - Looks like it may well be Oliver...

At first i thought he was digging in the ground to retrieve Lex' corpse so Darkseid could resurrect him... Guess not.

The Lois bits where a bit meh though, but looking forward to next week.

Lock Jaw 05-07-2011 05:42 PM

Interesting episode. Can't wait for the finale.

Wonder if they're gonna do anything with that League of Super-Villains thing, or just leave that hanging.

Lock Jaw 05-07-2011 05:47 PM

Massive Justice League vs Injustice League throwdown while Clark stands around talking about the nature of good, evil, and destiny with Lex Luthor.

:y:

HYPED UP

Gray 05-13-2011 05:49 PM

:wavesad:

Lock Jaw 05-13-2011 05:53 PM

But  at the same time.

Dark-Slicer Diago 05-13-2011 05:57 PM

Sure is, only 2h to go before the return of LEX.

Lock Jaw 05-13-2011 06:01 PM

Finally get to see what I signed up 10 years ago to see.

Gray 05-13-2011 07:13 PM

I'm still impressed with the fact that no leaks have been made of Tom in the Superman suit, certainly has been tight.

Innovator 05-13-2011 09:41 PM

ABOUT FUCKING TIME

Lock Jaw 05-14-2011 01:06 AM

Overall, it was decent!

SPOILER: show
Kind of anti-climactic at points (Darkseid being taken out with one punch), but I really didn't expect any epic action sequences from Smallville.

The Lex stuff was good for what it was. Better than not having him at all. Did Tess wipe all of his memories though? Not sure what is up with that. Wouldn't he not know who he is, why he hates Clark, all the bad upbringing would be gone....

Also, in the end, why did Lois and Clark wait seven years to get married again?

Marked out big time for the suit, even if they never gave us any full shots of him in it, which I thought was a rip. Marked for the Superman movie music and credits at the end.

McLegend 05-14-2011 02:07 AM

The whole thing with Lex is hard to figure out. The scene with him and Clark was fantastic though. I missed Lex so much.

I'm to with Lock Jaw on the suit, but I really enjoyed the finale.

McLegend 05-14-2011 02:20 AM

SPOILER: show
Is it possible that Lex became good? Since he doesn't have any memories?

It had to be it erased memories of Clark right?

McLegend 05-14-2011 02:29 AM

SPOILER: show
Didn't Lex and Tess have a thing when Tess first showed up? Wasn't it hinted at?

Also I never really cared that much about Darkseid. I just cared more about Clark becomming Superman. So the battle doesn't really bother me. I thought having Darkseid possess Lionel was good, but doing that whole voice thing was pretty weak. I would have liked typical Lionel acting and dialogue.

Also the whole comic book thing was weird to me.

Honestly I really did enjoy the finale.

Jura 05-14-2011 10:04 AM

Wasn't as good as I expected it to be but you can't please everyone.

VSG 05-14-2011 11:24 AM

SPOILER: show
Marked out when I saw Apokolips, they got it pretty spot on. Not so sure what was up with all the memory wiping but don't really care. Pretty awesome how they had LutherCorp turn into LXCorp.

Gray 05-14-2011 02:41 PM

Overall i liked it, but at the same time... So many improvements probably could have been made.

SPOILER: show
We didn't even get a proper look of him in the Superman outfit, just a wee bit of his cloak fluttering in the wind, plus it ended up being small CGI images in most of it, which again was a let down.

The plane scene felt just like Superman Returns.

Scenes with Lex was good, though the memory-wipe thing is a bit blah. While Lex may forget who Clark is, what about the millions of Metropolis citizens who seen Kent on a daily basis.

Him finally learning to fly was awesome though, and going through all his previous "trials". One thing that bothered me though was the fact that as soon as he learned to fly... The first thing he did? Super-sped to the Fortess. Bah!

Lock Jaw 05-14-2011 02:53 PM

Was hoping in the plane scene, they'd recreate the scene from Superman: The Movie with the co-pilot looking out the window and him waving.

"Fly. Just... fly. We got... something. I ain't saying what it is. Just... trust me."

Optimus Bone 69 05-14-2011 04:38 PM

Enough for me I loved it

Reavant 05-14-2011 05:37 PM

i loved it

D Mac 05-15-2011 08:14 PM

Just watched it earlier today. I agree with everything everyone said about the suit and Lex. Kinda sad now. But all good things must come to an end.

Too bad Tom Welling and the rest of the cast can't be in the next Superman movie.

D Mac 05-15-2011 08:51 PM

lol from IGN:

Quote:

Even in that last shot we don't get to see Welling in full costume. He either didn't feel worthy of wearing the costume or wasn't interested in working out for thirty-seconds of screen time. I'm going to assume the latter.
Also it was cool to see Jimmy cameo in the Daily Planet.

Lock Jaw 05-15-2011 09:58 PM

Final scene: http://youtu.be/kFauG5dyi_Y (embedding disabled)

That music = me losing it

Luthor has gotta still be big time mega-evil to be elected President in just seven years after having no political background or interest at all.

But it fits in with stuff like waaaaay back from when they show first started where they had Luthor in the white house, and a glove on his hand and all.

VSG 05-15-2011 10:44 PM

That music :'( :'(

Lock Jaw 05-15-2011 10:48 PM

VSG = Very Sad Guy?!

In related news, decided to watch the pilot of Smallville today. Its like... pretty unrecognizable from the show it becomes. It really came a looooong way.

Lock Jaw 05-15-2011 10:49 PM

Always laughed about how often Lex used to get beat up on this show:

http://www.greatwhitesnark.com/2008/...on-smallville/

VSG 05-15-2011 11:13 PM

Did Smallville try to pass off that with the "I am poisoned with Kryptonite, so I don't get injured" bullshit?

Lock Jaw 05-16-2011 12:00 AM

Not sure what you mean by that.

VSG 05-16-2011 01:11 AM

The WB cartoon series of Superman as well as JLA featured a Lex Luthor that has near invulnerability against most human and alien diseases as well as an accelerated recovery from physical damage due to "kryptonite contamination". In the end it gave him cancer

Lock Jaw 05-16-2011 01:31 AM

Oh yeah. I remember that. (now)

I think Smallville did once have some stupid explanation of something about how Lex survived some injury or another that was never mentioned again.

McLegend 05-16-2011 01:41 AM

I thought it was pretty cool to have lex in the white suit, because of that either dream sequence or whatever it was from an earlier season that Lock Jaw mentioned.

Also Lex was affected by the Meteor showers which is why he could survive ice things like plane crashes...

McLegend 05-16-2011 01:48 PM

So did Clark sell the farm?

D Mac 05-16-2011 02:18 PM

Don't think so.

Jura 05-16-2011 02:22 PM

I thought he sold it and they moved into an apartment. The episode where Clark and Oliver were in the Phantom Zone for weeks.

D Mac 05-16-2011 02:23 PM

He said in the finale that he accepted an offer, but it seemed the final deal wasn't made yet.
