Honestly, the online and a few KO's with shots that missed are the only bad things I can say. Everything else has been tweaked to fuck and is much better than 2010. Pride is just the icing on the cake. |
probably will buy it then, I don't expect anything from THQ's servers so I figured the online would suck.
Was just playing the PSP version of 2010. Was destroying Alves with GSP and hit him with a headkick and Alvez just stood there while GSP celebrated.
Despite the fact he wasn't even rocked by the kick and just stood there, it was a KO victory. |
just about to fight my first career mode fight and I'm so tired of Mike Goldberg's voice already
Pretty much. The only part of commentary I don't blank out is Rogan talking about my match at the start of each fight.
My friend at work was playing this and he won by TKO via leg kicks. It was glorious
Soccer kick KO's never get old, loving this.

20-2 in my career mode rn, lost to Pat Barry in a slugfest due to "perfect punch" but destroyed him in a rematch. Lost my title shot to Brock when I backed off for the last minute or so of the 5th round thinking I'd got the decision sewn up but it came out 48-47 Brock on all 3 scorecards although I was pretty sure I'd won at least 3 rounds :|#1 contender fight against Frank Mir was probably the most "satisfying" fight I've ever had in a career mode on these games
Currently 22-0, haven't had too many tricky fights, some how always manage to come back if I get rocked due to my knockout left hook.
I notice that the AI seems to go beast mode if they get rocked and survive sometimes.
getting quite tired of the Counter game plan, I win by KO or TKO, avoid being knocked down but get "failure" on "Cause a knockdown or knockout"...despite winning the fight by Knockout.
Really enjoying this game so far. I got to 23-0 before I was knocked out about 12 seconds into a Pride fight by a jumping knee.
My only real complaint so far is load times, there pretty shit and it cant even change a menu without thinking it seems :( |
I'm just not getting into it. Happy I got it through gamefly and didn't buy it. I dunno, I definitely see the improvements over the last game, but in the end, it's still the same. Plus, the fighters feel even more generic this time around.

One of my first losses was when I knocked a guy down on one punch and then he ankle locked me for the sub.
On the subject of AI I find if you get rocked your better to cover up to get back on track then go maximum attack counter punching and I usually find you can rock them and finish pretty quickly.
So what's the situation with online being down/extremely shit? Are these bums trying to fix it or are they too busy clearing out their cubicles?
I'm hoping to buy this pretty soon for the 360. Worth paying full price for or wait til it goes down more?
really really fucking sick of that bullshit where you have a guy in side control and he rolls to his feet and gets a takedown of his own, pretty much the most unrealistic thing of all time
Yeah, some guy probably did it once so they felt the need to throw that in there.

Reached retirement, 44 (I think) wins and 5 loses, I'm fairly happy with that. Had a bad run where I lost 3 on the trot in the early - mid 20 wins stage but I still managed to make the HOF and win 3 consecutive Pride tournaments while making a bunch of LHW title defenses. My final fight was winning my 3rd Pride GP in a row, not a bad way to retire.
I'm going to try a new career on the hardest difficulty next week some time and I expect it to last longer with more fights going the distance. Oh and while I am glad they have addressed the submission thing with the mini game it takes you out of the game a little. Cant have it all I guess though, and this is better than being taken down and subbed in 30 seconds time after time in title defenses like I was in 2010. |
finished 45-3, moved down to LHW for the last 5-6 fights of my career, which was pretty cool. Beat Little Nog to get a title shot, beat Shogun for the belt, couple of defenses and finished up with a retirement fight against Royce Gracie of all people, which I thought was pretty bad ass (although I wish I'd have had my last fight in the UFC to hear the "retirement commentary".
Also, love hearing Buffer announce "former heavyweight champion of Pride, former UFC heavyweight champion, current reigning, defending UFC light-heavyweight champion of the world, this man is a legendary UFC hall of fame octagon warrior", takes an age. Wish I'd have gone down to LHW maybe a year before though and added "former middleweight champion of Pride" to that lot also. Gonna do another career mode at some point with a lightweight and basically try and make my intro as long as possible. |
Does he say former Strikeforce champion? In Overeem's case.
nah, listened out during his and Nick Diaz's entrances thinking they might
have probably had more fun with my new lightweight fighter in the first 4-5 fights than my entire other career with "me" strictly because of flying knees
So is there any reason as to why my downloadable content isn't working? Got the ultimate fight: knockout pack with the game, and it's downloaded and sitting with the other UFC stuff but when I try to play them it says I need to download them :?:
Shitty. Seems like more and more it's becoming a sure thing that THQ is going under.
Haven't actually checked out any of the dlc stuff. What's in it? |
I got extra fighters and the Knock Out pack for ultimate fight mode :\
Had a look at the fighter packs... not very impressive. Hate that Overeem was a facebook only thing, as I don't use it.
I have a 360 Overeem code if you want it
yes plz

there was a well know/acknowledged "problem" with the knockout package/boost thing, you have to do things in a specific order for it to work
