Lock Jaw 02-24-2012 04:30 PM

I know that. Still doesn't excuse anything.

DaveBrawl 02-24-2012 09:41 PM

Lockdown is one of their main ppv's I believe so that's probably why they set that up and kind of overlooked Victory Road. Kind of like the WWE show in December that I don't remember the name of.

Droford 02-24-2012 09:48 PM

I can't believe TNA has a ROAD to Lockdown.

also funny that Lock Jaw decides to watch TNA on the Road to Lockdown.

Lock Jaw 02-24-2012 10:06 PM

Yeah, probably picked a bad time to do this. WWE is building to WRESTLEMANIA while TNA is building to their PPV that has all cage matches.

If Lockdown is supposed to be the bigger PPV, then they definitely should have done Sting/Roode there instead.

Droford 02-24-2012 10:15 PM

LOCK Jaw
LOCK Down

had nothing to do with the quality of the PPV as to why I found it funny

Mr. Nerfect 02-25-2012 08:18 PM

I've watched the last two weeks of TNA television, as well, and I actually enjoyed it. I don't know what is wrong with me. It just seems fresh, maybe? Bobby Roode and Bully Ray are fucking fantastic. Both are all kind of cash as heels.

Zema Ion seems really young, and I kind of enjoy him. There is no way he should dethrone Aries, though.

Crimson also surprised me. From people's complaints about him, I thought he was terrible. The dude actually did some stuff that really surprised me. I'm loving Joe & Magnus as a team, too. Just two ruthless guys who are champions.

Well, I think the idea is that Roode vs. Storm is actually the match they have been building to longer and want to focus on. That being said, I kind of agree with you. Storm going over Roode in a straight-up one-on-one match at Victory Road would be a great moment. Storm then defends the World Title against some other dude at Lockdown while Sting faces Bobby Roode in a match with Sting's career on the line or something.

Mr. Nerfect 02-26-2012 12:02 AM

Actually, I take all that back if this leads to Roode vs. Storm and Sting vs. Aries at Lockdown.

Austin Aries made a Twitter post recently that said something like "I guess 'i'm done' means 'i'm going to book myself into a PPV main event." Aries then took it down, which probably means it's not kayfabe, but man I would love it if it were. Imagine the rub Aries would get from beating Sting at Lockdown?

Lock Jaw 02-26-2012 12:37 AM

I doubt Sting is gonna get mixed up with the X Division.

Mr. Nerfect 02-26-2012 12:42 AM

I don't think it would be counted as an X-Division Match. It would be Aries stepping out of the division for a more personal feud.

Rollermacka 02-26-2012 11:25 PM

I agree that Impact has been pretty good reciently. Not a huge far of the whole AJ, Kaz, and Daniels storyline or Garrett Vs Gunner. I like this team of Magnus and Joe, for a completely random combination I really like them. I still hope to see Joe get another world title run (and Magnus is a big young guy who is very carismatic)

Mr. Nerfect 02-27-2012 06:03 AM

Magnus really impressed me. The dude is so young, but portrays himself as a veteran with a bad-ass attitude. I like that, and in time, he will be a major player for TNA (especially with their huge British following). When it does come time for them to split, a Joe vs. Magnus feud has the potential to be all shades of awesome. Don't want to see that for many months, though.

Innovator 02-27-2012 01:05 PM

Rollermacka 02-28-2012 10:00 AM

Random insert, is Anderson injured again? I remember him feuding with Bully Ray and both of them looked decient in the ring but then reciently thought about it and I haven't seen Anderson on Impact in awhile

Mr. Nerfect 02-29-2012 03:23 AM

It's funny you should mention that, Rollermacka. No, he's not injured.

Mr. Nerfect 02-29-2012 03:25 AM

Now that I've thought about it, I definitely want to see Bobby Roode vs. James Storm and Sting vs. Austin Aries at Lockdown. Storm beats Roode to become the World Heavyweight Champion and Austin Aries makes Sting submit in a "shocking upset."

On iMPACT!, Aries wants Sting to publicly admit that Aries is "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" and Sting admits that Aries is better wrestler than him, but he's going to put him against one of the best wrestlers he's ever seen. The #1 Contender for the X-Division Championship is... AJ Styles!

Aries vs. Styles is about the only match big enough for the X-Division the way they've been building Aries up.

Innovator 02-29-2012 09:37 AM

Is Impact the Aries Show yet?

Anderson looked really good in this match and at Bound for Glory. I can't really think of anything relivent I've seen him in so far in 2012

Malfeitor 02-29-2012 05:26 PM

Anderson apparently returned at the tapings this week.

Lock Jaw 02-29-2012 05:38 PM

SPOILERS. SPOILERS IN MY THREAD.

Get the F out. :foc:

XL 02-29-2012 05:41 PM

I figured they wrote him out for a while so that we would forget whether he was heel/face and could start afresh on his return.

Anybody Thrilla 02-29-2012 05:54 PM

I hate when people spoil things for no good reason.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:25 PM

BUSINESS IS ABOUT TO PICK UP!

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:27 PM

lol Kurt Angle being so over the top right now. Has cue cards with reasons why he hates Jeff Hardy. Promises to read them later.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:30 PM

Reason #1: Jeff Hardy has lots of hair and I don't.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:32 PM

Angle with this black dot on the top of his head. Looks like a fly or a cancerous mole or something. Really distracting.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:36 PM

Jeff Hardy accepting Angle's challenge, but sounds like he says "You're OWN" instead of "You're on"

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:39 PM

Ooh, looks like some sort of Bobby Roode/Austin Aries Anti-Sting alliance is forming backstage.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:41 PM

Now for AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels and Kaz in a gauntlet match.

Which Styles challenged them to. Why any man would willingly put himself out into a gauntlet match, I do not know.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:42 PM

Man, they really mangled AJ Style's theme. I used to like it.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:47 PM

lolllll Mike Tenay. He's calling the moves in the match... AJ Styles connects with a big move and then suddenly he is just like "Hot action! ... Feauturing the hottest girls in wrestling! .... Still to come tonight!"

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:49 PM

Styles is not very smart. Gauntlet match. He has his first opponent on the ropes... and so leaves the ring to get in the face of the second guy (even though he wasn't trying to interfere or anything).

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:56 PM

Madison Rayne vs ODB now

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 01:59 PM

Madison Rayne putting boots to asses.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-02-2012 02:00 PM

Is this something for Lent? Like 40 days and night of punishment for God?

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:02 PM

Thought Gail Kim botched getting onto the apron for a moment, but on second thought, it was definitely an intentional "Oops, sorry partner, I was too late" thing.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:04 PM

Bully Ray berating and ranting to some random chick backstage.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:06 PM

Bully Ray gonna join the Roode/Aries Anti-Sting Union looks like.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:07 PM

Velvet Sky just referred to the members of the battle royal a few weeks ago as "contestants".

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:08 PM

Velvet with some terrible promo, mic, and acting skills. Now getting beat up by Angelina Love and some other chick I don't recognize.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:09 PM

Mickie comes for the ave far too late, dressed in some sort of 1960s hippie basketball player outfit.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:10 PM

Ok, it was apparently Sarita. Tag team match coming later. Hopefully I never have to hear Velvet try to act angry again.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:13 PM

Roode/Aries/Ray coming to the ring now. Should be good.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:19 PM

SIT DOWN STRIKE

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:20 PM

Sting with Undertaker-like powers to appear int he ring in a split second when the lights turn out.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:24 PM

Roode/Aries/Bully vs Joe/Magnus/Storm main event set.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:26 PM

Another Jesse Sorenson update. Yeah, it was a terrible thing... I don't really need weekly emotional updates if the reports are right and he is a year away from returning.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:29 PM

Oh. Ok. Finally they have at least had Zema Ion with a short promo about feeling no remorse. Good. If they are going to update me, the least they can do is use the whole thing to get Zema some heat.

Makes absolutely zero sense for him to be number one contender though. Heel Zema Ion vs Heel Austin Aries at the PPV. Who thought that was a good idea?

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:30 PM

Shannon Moore vs. Zema Ion now and WHY DOES ZEMA ION SPRAY HIS HAIR SPRAY ON HIS CHEST/NECK?

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:34 PM

Ion wins in a flip-full match.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:35 PM

Pretty sure Zema's theme has The Oddities theme underscoring it.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:39 PM

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JmJRP2NHZiU?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JmJRP2NHZiU?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Around :08 seconds it comes in.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:42 PM

Knockouts tag match now. I like the Knockouts, but don't know how I feel about them getting two matches on one show. Unless there is a story to tell. This one just seems random. Time would probably be better spent getting their Television Champion on Television.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:50 PM

Apparently Velvet's finisher is a sit-down Pedigree

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:51 PM

Apparently Mickie likes to do some sort of "Angels in the Outfield" wings flapping thing now. Did it when she was entering, and now in celebration.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:53 PM

Magnus doesn't seem too bad on the mic. Seems to have some charisma at least.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:55 PM

OH NO. TNA officials have received a letter from Abyss' family, wondering if they have heard about the whereabouts of Abyss!

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:57 PM

Implying that Bully Ray "disappeared" Abyss.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 02:58 PM

Abyss is the Kane of TNA. A million face/heel turns. Moves from one ridiculous storyline to the next...

But still remains appealing because he is "a monster".

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:02 PM

Main event announcing for a 6 man tag match.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:08 PM

They are making a point of keeping Roode and Storm from being in the ring at the same time. I like it.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:12 PM

At least once each segment tonight, Taz has begun to randomly talk about the Knockouts and how hot they are. Tenay finally calling him out on it. "What are you talking about? We're in the middle of our six man tag main event!"

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:17 PM

Faces win. Storm pins Roode though. Not a good call. Would rather have kept them apart even to the end.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:20 PM

And then Bully Ray gets the last word on Storm with a chairshot. Says that Storm isn't going to make it to Lockdown.

Show over.

#1-norm-fan 03-02-2012 03:28 PM

Such cookie-cutter booking. TNA literally makes me nauseous to watch sometimes. Why don't they try?

Yeah, but breaking up Beer Money was a good thing, not because it was a bad team or anything, it was likeable, but because of a successful turn for Bobby Roode to become a popular heel champion, a step in the right direction to breathe life into the company.

Here's one of their obvious errors, I think TNA doesn't really hold high standards for most of the talent, maybe they don't rehearse or there isn't enough discipline so that the talent won't fuck up. Either way, when the talent does fuck something up, they don't cut it or make the one at fault fix the problem, they leave it on the taping to broadcast on Thursday and on PPVS. Seriously? There's no just excuse for not using the days before the broadcast to patch up the footage. PPVs I can understand, but Jeff Hardy really REALLY put a big hurting to the company with his self-hazed championship thirty second match, and got off way too easy for it, matter of fact, was a couple of months before he got right back on TV again. Lack of discipline, poor to no editing work for television, and this... absolutely terrible promos for upcoming matches, they don't motivate the viewer to want to come and see the match through.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 07:18 PM

Have not really noticed haphazard editing on TV.

#1-norm-fan 03-02-2012 07:24 PM

Really, is Jeff Hardy so valuable that he warrants the huge black eye that he gives the company? Makes no sense.

I think that was in reference to Velvet and the "let the pigeons loose" deal.

I thought it was an ok show. Extremely formulaic, but it's not like WWE is pulling OMG shockers out every week :-\

Puppies are soft and cuddly. Pigeons are dirty and disease-ridden.

And Skippord wins again.

I'm looking forward to watching Impact this week. It would kind of make sense to have Velvet Sky, Mickie James, Tara & Brooke Tessmacher vs. Angelina Love, Winter, Sarita & Rosita at Victory Road. I mean, it's a clusterfuck, but if I were going to order a TNA PPV (and I'm not about to), then I'd want to see Velvet Sky grind against the ropes at least once.

Damndirty 03-04-2012 02:12 PM

So which PPV is TNA's Wrestlemania, or have they no hype for one PPV more than another?

#1-norm-fan 03-04-2012 02:54 PM

I think it's either Slammiversary or Bound for Glory.

Lock Jaw 03-04-2012 02:57 PM

Wiki says Bound For Glory is their "premiere" event.

It generally did not receive the kind of hype/lavish production/pulling out all the stops that Mania gets. At least back when I used to watch a few years ago.

#1-norm-fan 03-04-2012 03:17 PM

Which is kinda lame. How the show that celebrates the anniversary of the company isn't the "premiere" event is beyond me. Anything else is just a name basically. At least Slammiversary has some deeper meaning and wouldn't be the biggest show just for the sake of having a "Biggest show".

Lock Jaw 03-04-2012 06:16 PM

Yeah. I thought it was Slammiversary too. Which it probably should be, since everything else is just a random name with no meaning behind it.

erickman 03-04-2012 06:44 PM

yeah slammiversary used to be the big one but october was when the big name wrestlers from wwe got realeased from there 90 day no compeat contract. wwes spring cleaning helped bound for glory

Yeah, that was way over the top this week. Tazz was playing "pervy old man" to the point of being distracting.

Damndirty 03-07-2012 09:18 AM

I think it might actually help for them to have that Bound For Glory as the mark of the end of TNA's wrestling year, like Wrestlemania does for WWE. Then again... doubt there's a big list of celebrities who consider taking part in TNA PPVs, which might have actually brought more viewers too. Seeing Mike Tyson participating in WWF was what brought me to sit down and watch the whole Raw is War show.

Rollermacka 03-07-2012 11:58 AM

Then again, TNA announces every ppv as their "biggest show of the year". I always figured Lockdown was their other show of the year. I think its a yearly thing now that they have "lethal lockdown" and the Xcape Match for the belt (the one where its a giant red birdcage that the X Division stars have to escape from)

Mr. Nerfect 03-10-2012 12:06 AM

Lockdown, Slammiversary and Bound For Glory are sort of like their "big three," I guess. Personally, I wish they would do more to define their PPVs. I like the idea of Destination X, and stuff like that. They could do some sort of tournament for a PPV, as well.

Lock Jaw 03-10-2012 12:09 AM

Will not be able to watch this week's until Sunday. You will all have to wait for my thrilling commentary. Too bad I have had some of the show spoiled already.

Mr. Nerfect 03-10-2012 12:16 AM

I haven't watched this week's Impact! Wrestling, but I'm sort of feeling like this should be the Lockdown card:

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Bobby Roode (c) vs. James Storm

Non-Title Match
Sting vs. Austin Aries

TNA World Tag Team Championship
Samoa Joe & Magnus (c) vs. AJ Styles & Ken Anderson

Three-Way Match for the TNA Knockout Championship
Madison Rayne (c) vs. Gail Kim vs. ODB

Lethal Lockdown
Jeff Hardy, Abyss, Kazarian & Crimson vs. Kurt Angle, Bully Ray, Christopher Daniels & Matt Morgan

Gunner vs. Garett Bischoff

X-Division Showcase
Alex Shelley vs. Anthony Nese vs. Kid Kash vs. Mark Haskins vs. Shannon Moore vs. Zema Ion

Damndirty 03-11-2012 12:46 PM

Roode, keep doing what he's been doing

Austin Aries - good X division champ
Alex Shelley would ge good for an ongoing feud

ODB and Eric Young skits are good!

Knockouts good, though some need to work on the acting and mic skills, matches are fine as they are

Crimson and Morgan should have a feud that leads to World Champ contendership

James Storm should have a good match with Roode, but not win the championship
He and AJ need to keep a feud with Immortal

Bully Ray and Hardy do not need to be in the contendership anymore, but should have a bloody feud with one another, given both have the reptuation of being part of legendary tag teams at one time in their lives and needs to be focused on. Maybe after the feud, these two could be a real badass tag team.

Sting should not be World Champion anymore, but stick with the physically-active executive position, maybe even coerce Garrett Bischoff as being his successor by upstaging his father as an exec

Joe and Magnus should have a feud with a Daniels and Kazarian, or a team formed from Gunner and Kazarian

The wrestlers are not the problem, nor have they ever been. Poor management is to blame for a company's failures, hence Russo, but it may take some time to heal from the problem that was dealt with.

GARRET BISCHOFF has arrived in the Impact Zone!!

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:04 PM

Don't know why he insists on showing up every week, when he hasn't been wrestling.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:08 PM

Nevermind, apparently he will wrestle on this show.

Bisch saying he got a tag match made to "put an end to it". Gunner and a Partner vs Garrett and a Partner.

Kinda scratching my head over that one. If he wanted to "put an end to it", just have Gunner vs Garrett.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:13 PM

Angle coming out. Will apparently be Gunner's partner. Which means that Jeff Hardy will most likely team with Garrett.

Also, it has been three weeks I have been watching, and I have no idea why Bischoff seems to hate his son and wants him gone.

Just seems to me that on the whole, the talents of Bischoff and Flair could be used to put over somebody more talented than Garrett seems to be. Though I haven't seen Garrett in the ring yet. Seems pretty "meh" outside of it.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:16 PM

Sting spazzing out into a mirror. Wierding me out.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:19 PM

Sting seems like he is legitimately insane. Thought it was supposed to be more of a "controlled insanity". But seems pretty batshit crazy this week.
